Hey, I've just bought a new PC, installed the demo on it and for some reason it runs at double speed.:(.

Any one with any ideas about how to stop it would be greatly appreciated.

Spec:

Pentium E2180
2gb DDR2 Ram
8600 GTS

Did you have this issue with PES 2008?

Another user, Abondanzieri, is also suffering from this issue and did with PES 2008 as well, albeit after an hour's play. It'd be interesting to compare detailed specs in order to ascertain whether a particular piece of hardware or software is causing the ridiculous issue.

I don't know, as I've only just got the new PC and haven't got 2008 on it. Putting the resolution tweak on at 1280x1024 seems to help a bit, then its just replays and cut scenes going quick. Cheers for the help.

Have you tried playing around with vsync and frame skipping?

is it like the game is being fast forwarded as you play ? i had that problem with 2008 when in my graphics card control panel, i had vsync at " force off "

So make sure your Vsync is at " Force on "

I've had a look at that, and put it on let the application decide. It seems to have made it better. I could swear I'd tried it before, but oh well. Thanks guys.

PES 2009 and hi-speed problem again :(

As don sweey mentioned above I had high speed gameplay problem with 2008 and unfortunatelly I have the same problem with pes 2009 demo now. At first it is quite normal. After playing for sometime, gameplay becomes fast. And this time, different than pes 2008, there is no problem with long balls, but if I try to make short pass from ground, ball goes like thunderbolt :) It is interesting that I have same problem at fifa 09. And most of the pc users who have high end pc's complain about jittering game play for fifa 09. I think ea and konami are indifferent if pc users have any problems and do not need to test their games untill reaching best optimized situation.
I am so sorry that I cancelled my pre-order for pes 2009. Because I do not want to see ridiculously fast gameplay on my high end pc.

another way solving problem

I had the same issue. My pc spec is as follows:

CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz
RAM: Dual Channel 1066 FSB 4GB (2 x 2GB)
Video: 8800 GT 512 MB

I solved the problem running pes 2009 in a window mode, then clicking the button on a window to enlarge it. then it runs great.

vsync solution doesn't work for me...

This is a total Frame Skipping not being enabled problem....Every PC is the same if that is left unticked.

Dont know why it is called Frame Skipping as no frames are 'skipped' as such. Just the animations are slowed down to the correct speed.

If you run the game at full screen, does the game run at high speed?
Do you press alt+enter to make the full screen or click full screen icon with mouse?

Mat the cat I ticked the frame skipping, and it still runs fast, espeacially when I make short passes. Players run too fast towards the player who has the ball when I press r1 and square. In other words, sometimes game is good, sometimes it is so fast. Just like a film as if you press and release "fast forward" button.
As I see another people suffering from fast gameplay, I understand that it is not a graphic card problem, it is a software error. This can be proved by playing more graphic-demanding games just like crysis, race driver grid, assasins creed...

Its all in the driver settings. If the game runs too fast then go into your driver settings and crank up the quality settings.

This game is not very hardware intensive, so turn up the quality to max and if you get stuttering then turn back some features down a notch.

What this does highlight is that PES can't be that "Next Gen" if my machine is running the game smoothly at 10 times the normal speed!

Specs: Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz, 4Gb RAM, nVidia GTX260, Vista 64-bit.

I created profile from catalyst for pes 2009 and all settings are max quality. It is strange that game still runs fast. My ati hd 4850 is so powerful that it can run pes 2008 and 2009 very fast although catalsyt applies 16xaf and 8xaa.

I ran it normally at 1440x900, with vsync and frame skipping...

Withou frame skipping, all the dead ball situations (corners, free kicks, penaltys) run at super speed... also replays look super fast.

With frame skipping, those sittuations are lessened, still they're a little faster than "normal".

Droping to a lower resolution also increases game speed... my hunch is that dead balls and replays are run at a different resolution than the actual game...

That would explain whey they're so fast.

Specs: Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz, 2 GB RAM, nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, XP

I forgot to mention I was playing at 1900x1200 but having just tried the game at 1280x800 with the driver settings to max there was no speedup.

This problem is because you have your monitor refresh rate set to high.

Go to Control panel/nvidia control panel/display/change resolution and make sure that it is set to 60hz.

This was a very common problem with 2008, hope it works for you.
