I mean, i have great connection.. never had problems with other online-games but when it come too pes 2009 it's incredible !!! lag lag lag lag lag lag ... every fu*kin match .. always "waiting for other player" .. and players / ball teleports .. incredible .. can't play online on a third generation gaming :shocking:

I have played my first match online with PC
FUCKING UTTER SHIT
Although the match itself ran ok each and every cut scene would stall the game left right and centre....when game eventually restarts it starts at 1000 mph.
it is like my opponent had the frame skipping bug and hadnt bothered to Enable Frame Skipping to fix it...

I had 4 games online and my first 2 went well, hardly any lag at all, i won my 1st game 4-3 then my 2nd, 2-1. But then when i started my 3rd match, the lag was unbelievable, it was in a 2v2 game and we quit at halftime, the game was unplayable. in my 4th game the same story, i played the full game because it was a ranked match but i lost something like 6-0. this is on xbox by the way

If you do have one then its probably down to other players bad connection..
Ive had no problems with online, in Legends and in network, tis smooth as smooth can be.

I had the same yesterday evening. Played 4 matches and lost the first 3 as the connection was lost and won the last one, 'cause my opponent's connection dropped.. The game itself played smoothly, but the connections dropping continuously is a big shame

Okay after hours of labour I think I have figured out a few things . (WARNING SNOOZING POST AHEAD)
1. LAGGING PROBLEM AND ERROR OCCURED
These problem's were on MY PS3 version . I had perfectly fine broadband but it was lagging like s h i t online and then I couldn't login . So I found out a little about this MTU setting a blah blah setting for the internet which if it is set wrong will send too much packet data and bingo start your game lagging . This also help me log back onto pes online after receiving the error for hours yesterday and this morning .
The auto setting on the PS3 is 1500 but you are going to have to find out what suits your broadband by going here

and following the steps until you get the right setting .
USE YOUR PC and find the right setting at which your broadband responds to .
Then set up a new connection on your PS3 and when you get to MTU select manual and enter the CORRECT setting and then complete the rest auto and test your connection .
(If you have a wireless connection I think you have to change the router and the ps3 mtu settings to work right)
This actually improved my network as well when I went to speedtest .net ? (I don't think it should have and I am sure some whizz will abuse me for saying so) .
IF THIS WORKS I really am happy for you as this stress s h i t can cause heart attacks and poor ageing and I wouldn't mind some rep points !
IF THIS DOES NOT WORK and something bad happens well this is the disclaimer and I would be lying if I didn't take any sexual pleasure from this , it is pretty much an idiot proof way of fixing the problem.

Thanks for that! I just played a game without a problem, but I haven't tried your tips yet. I did deactivate the media server in my network settings, which is apparently also supposed to be of help on the PS3.

I got the same. I get "Packet needs to be defragmented but DF set" upto 1473, but at 1472 I get "Request timed out"..

hm, I got exactly the same result as Jasperinho - from <1472 on I get a "request timed out" message...
You can try this alternative URL though - it worked for me...
