i think its quite funny that this "Mr Darkstar" is still trying to convince everyone that this game is half decent. months having passed an all.

i really tried with PES 09 as i have played every one since the SNES. it really can't be stressed enough that fifa is in another league to pro now. all of these comparisons to fine wines and fancy nights out with women is ridiculous. fifa 09 allows u to play the beautiful game like no other game has done before. pes 2009 allows u to play pes 2008 with new menus. pes 2008 was notoriously under par. how can this game possibly be par or above a year later?

if you're gonna play a football game all the time then don't waste a year with pes 2009 it is quite hideous. as some people have said it is the arcade game now nothing is realistic about it. these guys talk some sense:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jJsuKfAQfN4

a direct comparison between fifa and pes 09.

LOL you foolish man, i do not get money for promoting or convincing people about pro so i would not do that, i am simply stating facts and if you love fifa go on a fifa forum, its as simply as.

You are right though fifa is in a leauge of its own, but the leuage is about 19 leagues under pro.

Also i clicked on that link and when i realised it was just talking i turned it of, im not even going to dignify it with my ears!

Any one can talk and im almost a hundred percent sure its abotu some fifa fan boy talking shit as usually.

And about your under par point, pes 2008 gameplay was not underpar it was far superior to fifas (as always) just the game as a whole was underpar, i.e online lag, lack of game modes so on.

and pes 2009 is so different from 2008 and they are all great improvements and the game play is matched by done!

in some cases i definately agree with shaun7...

i do believe that in some cases PES does need to take advantage of the next gen consoles, but still is a brilliant game...i don't think licenses should be taken up as an argument against the game...yeah the kits might not be (fifa) perfect...but aren't we playing football games for the reason of the way the gameplays???...aren't we all forgetting a valuable reason here...PES gameplay has improved ALOT since pes 2008 and it makes for a greater game experience...

btw as for tk23...(this is an opinion) a GTA 4 style PES??? wtf mate...
drive cars, planes wtf are you going on about...its a football game not a bloody "tomb raider" adventure....:erm: loool!...

- i hear you, and agree, but these days the game needs to have more depth. If you want them to keep getting the game engine for on the pitch better and better, then why go next gen, you dont have to. but if they create a huge game, where its a or THE World of Football, and you live up a character, without taking away the most important - playing on the pitch. im sure if a game like GTA was dedicated to football and everything about it, yes, driving a Ferrari if you are Fernando Torres, and catching (not driving a plane) a flight to Spain for a transfer, that you and everyone else would be thrilled to play it.

ohhh i see what your talking about, i thought you mean't a game exactly like GTA!!...i can see what you mean and also how it would work, but can you remember when KONAMI released a managerial game?...i can't remember the name right now, but like you did the kinda things you said, like go to other countries try sign different players...blah blah but it majorly slacked in stores and was off shop floors and windows quick and fast...

if GTA has sucha capacity... where they can create 3 major big citys with such brilliantly rendered graphics, why is no company like EA and KONAMI grasping onto the next gen console's ability?...i mean some PES fans are generally going to FIFA because of its ability to be able to play online without no lag...which i think is fair enough...but still coming back to PES to play offline...

Now 2 years running, this problem persists with PES...all i want to know is why KONAMI can't sit down and just say..."look this is whats wrong" NOW FIX IT...

but going back to your point... creating a game where you just go country to country or team to team (by car or plane) then radically improving your player so he gets to play for a great team and nation...i'd say...isn't that BAL? (become a legend)....

i should pull back a bit, i am thinking too far stretched, i would love to take PES light years ahead but right now, i think anybody that wants something to say or post here, should be positive, and towards getting PES back where it used to be. right now, FIFA is sticking it in us, an that's the truth. we need to work on the basics. GAME ENGINE!

Majority of the world PES players agree that this years game is not up to scratch, Konami themselves stated 09 was supposed to be the 08 game that never came.

we don't have to argue with each other, we need to come together as a unit and support Konami with the change. PES needs a new game engine, we don't want to go back to a PES5, what was good 5 yrs ago. we need a 2010 amazing game play!

Im wondering is there anyway we can write to Konami, because i am the type of person that will do it. im at work writing this now, i love this game, and if they don't improve it, i will not stay for ever.

I seriously believe that, the time we take to get back at someone else comment/post should be put towards writing a letter/email to Konami or Seabass stating not just what you want, but also what you liked about the game (to get there attention) towards the end of the letter/email, tell them what you didn't like. be constructive.

If they arrived at work one morning and found 5 thousand letters, i believe it would make a difference. we just need someone to spearhead the operations.

your thoughts?

Well i really dont agree that fifa is "sticking it to us" and i think the game engine for pro is outstanding!

That being said your opinions and views are respected and i see where you are comming from.

With regards to writing to konami check on the front page underneath this weeks interfering with play ( i think ) you will see the section of which to add your thoughts and quires in which will be drafted to konami by the owners of this forum, it may be to late though but still have a look, maybe some one has allready covered what you wanted to change.

i actually said FIFA was sticking it IN us not to us... but anyway, im on your side, and that side is PES, which means FIFA is our enemy. i dont hate the people who play it, just the makers cause i think they dont know jack! but the pricks have gone an got the licenses and are paying good dollars for people to help them give the fans what they want. luckily, there fans are donkys.

If you guys dont mind, i want to put in a detailed post about where i think the future of the game should go.

well as soon as you start that post invite me in because i have a few views of my own on what should and shouldn't be including in the next update, next october...! I think that what makes a loyal PES fan, is not caring about the licenses, because like i put not long ago in this thread...its not about the way the kits are coloured...its the way the game plays and if it feels real to the player...to me FIFA doesn't feel real because most of the game is predictable...i mean that's my view, but i dunno how you feel about it...??... wb...

Alot of points people are making are just silly, a lot of the the "bad things" people are highlighting are in fact the high points of the game, i dotn know what the hell you want maybe you will only be happy when controlling the actual players on a saturday afternoon and even then im sure you will all cry that the running animation is poor!

What you need to do is spend less time lookingf or these bad points and actually play the game, its only then that you will see the vast amount of good things that the game has to offer and the reason why it is the best game, no football simulation on the market.

I would put that down to the fact that you are currently on a Pro Evolution Soccer Website.....

i would just like to control players that arent on rails...

I have no idea what you are talking about ( i respect your opinion) but i think you are so far from right it is untrue, as if that rule applied i would be wanting fifa right now and i definatley do not!

Fifa is like that cheap tacky girl who you are guaranteed quick sexual pleasure from behind a tree or in a deserted car park.

Pro is the lady that you have to wine dine and take your full time and effort on then when you finally do get her to the candle lit bedroom, the fire works will flyyyy!

No doubt your a virgin...;-)

yeah that youtube guy was acting like Ronaldo was shit and so was the world cup or somthing..!!! he is no football fan/player thats for sure..

look darkstar it just seems to me like you are tryin to convince 'yourself' that pes2009 is the best game in the world!! if i think a game is great, i do not bother tryin to defend it, i know its great and i just play it...

let people have their moan about it the more we moan the harder Konami will try..its not a bad game, its an underdeveloped game, as soon as Konami's developers get back from PS3 school i'm sure it will improve to the standard it should be for 2010..(crossed fingers)

No i am not trying to convince myself, you are missing the point, this is a forum in which you discuss your views and opinions if i want to type 100 times a day how much i love pro i will do that.

I am only defending the game to those blind people who think that anything on fifa is better than pro, ( apart from online)

BELIEVE
Honestly, I'm loving this new PES 2009, the only main problem for me and it's in fact a major flaw is the fact the ball sometimes travels through the player's limbs. This isn't so bad outfield, but when the ball passes through the goalkeeper, which it does often, then it becomes outright ridiculous and ultimately costs games.

haha i love the way you quoted in your post!! :)

yeahhh i know what you mean...but first things first...online gameplay...lag etc...im guna be a lil bit cheeky and say, defend a lil bit better and then you won't concede neways haha...only joking man...

you have a good view...but do you think the keepers have got better...i mean at one on ones definately but some shots are needlessly parried...if you get what i mean... :S lol!

Hunter

BELIEVE
I'd say the defending has improved to be honest, and against the COM I win the majority of the time but against friends it's a lot more unpredictable and challenging so you really need the goalkeeper to be on top of his game. No one likes scoring goals against their friends due to pure glitching flaws, it's just not the PES way, and ultimately feels cheap.

Personally, I do think the keepers have got better, but I'd have to agree with you on the point that they very often needlessly parry easy shots. I can understand them sometimes parrying shots straight at them if they are struck with power, but to parry relatively slow side-footed shots is pathetic.
