PES6 vs PES09, wich one is better??

Could it be that you guys got used to playing the older games more? So naturally when you play it, you're more comfortable with the gameplay and the tricks, since you spent endless hours playing it (in some cases more than pes09).

I personally played pes09 alot and got frustrated. I only played at Top Player and the frustration is not because the game is not good, it's because I didn't get used to it yet. I think the changes in the gameplay is making it closer real football games and perhaps that can frustrate many players. It is more likely in pes09 for passes to go astray and with weak players you find it hard to gain and for that fact maintain possession.

I personally think that the gameplay in 09 is much better.

I'm sure many of you play BAL and are frustrated from the AI in many times. There are so many instances I was running into space and the AI just keeps on dribbling and loosing possession. there are other times where the AI decided to pass, only to get intercepted.
But while watching an EPL game I realized a similarity of reality fooball to pes09 gameplay. In real games the ball possession keeps going back and forth for a while until you have a clear attempt on goal.

That's exactly what I though the first Few Weeks I played PES09. But the Bottom Line is that PES6 is clearly better than PES09.

There are just so many ways of scoring easy goals in PES09, the easiest one is just stroking the ball around from side to side until the opposition defenders start leaving the Usual open gaps.

Or you can just take a Long Range Shot with some Power behind it, the goalkeeper will probably spill it, and your Striker will probably end up scoring an easy tap-in.

In PES09 there's just too much Space and Time on the pitch, you can afford to Think Slowly and get away with it. I can slowly build my way to an easy 4-0 lead, on the hardest level.

I could not do the same in PES6, even if I was 7-0 up, I felt like I was forced into Thinking Faster. And because of the more realistic Responsiveness, and the fact you had to think faster, you just felt more involved in the gameplay.

The PS2 versions of PES6 was a more realistic and addictive Football Sim.

Now I can fully acknowledge just How Important the "Response" is for a Football Sim.

Responsiveness, this is what all the FIFAs including 09 lacked, this is also what PES09 lacks.. Now I can fully appreciate just how important it was for the series, without it PES doesn't feels like The PES.

It forced you into thinking faster, you had less Time for thinking, and this had you more involved during Gameplay.

And by the way, about the "Goalkeepers spilling saves in PES6", I have played PES6 for around 3 years now.. and I have already scored more Spilled Goals in PES09.

PES09 doesn't stands the test of time, Konami's intention is clear with this game.

I have sold sold all the 08 and 09 football title ( fifa and pes ) and bought PES6 again. Me and amateur both seem to agree on many issues regarding 2009.

It sort of turned into FIFA -- It is fun for a few weeks and then you realize you keep on doing the same thing.

Yeah I mean its still nowhere near FIFA when it comes to boredom. I could actually play PES2009 against the computer for no reason.....in FIFA I never did that because it was too boring.

PES6 however is so exciting when I play and especially when I score.

In PES2009 it seems tho there are certain things yo can do that almost gurantee goals, like picking a big club. In ES6 that is not the case.

I personally think that it's a matter of getting used to a game. Perhaps after playing pes08/09 you got used to the new gameplay and when trying pes6 you needed some time to re-adapt. Keep playing it for a couple of weeks continuous and i'm sure you will experience the same thing.

Every year I get a pes game, I play the hell out of it, until at the end (just before release of new one) I stop playing at least against the AI, since I can always win with large margin and that is on Top Player. In fact that usually happens after finishing the ML from scratch 3-4 times.

All i'm saying is that your experience with the game could be biased and due to many factors besides the better gameplay that you're suggesting. That's just my opinion.

Maybe it happened less in Pes 6. Because a friend of mine (who never played pes) picked MAN UTD (a glitched team, they always win in every pes) and he could beat everyone. I was annoyed. This happens on pes 09 too.

The curling is about the shooting's realism, so a big part of the shooting and shooting is a part of the gameplay so it effects.
Also dribbbling? The dribbling is the same but in Pes 09 you have more moves than 6. Maybe pes 6 had better response when drbbling. But still I like pes 09's weather effects the performance thing. Realistic.
Also I played pes 6 on top player and won every game in ML and exhibition. Now in pes 09 I'm playing professional and I don't win all games. Konami said that they toned down the difficulty in pes 6 but pes 09 was made to be more difficult than 6. Maybe pes 6 was easier because of the response thing.
All in all they both are great games but pes 09 is more real for sure.

youve kept saying PES09 is harder and PES6 was easy but PES 09 is only hard because you have less control over the players, more of it seems scripted and the outcome not as you wanted, eg me aiming far corner and it scoring randomly near post etc.

the fun has gone out of PES with 09, this is evident playing multiplayer, if i want to play a mate ill play PES6 cos basically its just more fun, far more balanced and less scripted making for really good games against mates. playing mates with PES09 i get mates who dont play the game winning matches and the like by running and running with players like eto or ronaldo. (i found this with FIFA09 too, you can score too easily)

Amateur, all of what you said i agree with, PES6 you felt like you were in the game, PES09 you feel distance and like you have no real control.

oh and i think PES09 has improved alot in other areas tho, namely crossing the balll, you can whip lovely crosses into the area, and also the heading has improved, you can time your run great into the area and get a good leap.

^I agree 100%, especially about the AI cheating. I hate it. But that's not only the case in pes 09, this is the case in ALL pes games.

PES 6 by a Long shot.

-Player movement is alot less rigid
-Passing is more accurate.
-Collision dectection is far better and AI controlled players like Messi and Ibra are world class footballers, not beings from another dimension who can run through entrie defences on the regular
-PES6 doesnt have the paraplympic goalkeepers seen in PES 2008/09
-Edit mode in PES 6 was legendary, you could make Nike, puma, diadora and other makes boots in whatever colour you like rather than rely on the game supplied boot pack.
-PES6 has better stadium choice

Agreed.. I can't really say PES is better than FIFA anymore.

I can also see that PES has turned into something like FIFA. The feeling's not there, the Responsiveness is not there, the "replay value" definitely isn't there. This isn't PES anymore.

And I must say that it's good to hear you say that, cause you used to enjoy PES08. I'm glad you've moved on to better things. You used to like PES08, but with all your comments you've shown your Disposition as a gamer.

It's a shame so many gamers lack the disposition.

Now they (most of us) just focus on the actual Criticism, but they seem to overlook all the Legit points made. They tend to Label constructive criticism as "moaning", or as "just an opinion". They find ways of liking sub-par games, and we keep asking for more of the same with money in hand$.

Only an odd few have the Disposition of listening, actually reading the whole comments, arguing against the comments, but Ultimately making a contribution towards something Constructive.

Either that, or you just don't even bother reading or listening, I don't know.. coming from someone who considers PES09 a "challenge". It really doesn't puzzles me WHY you bother typing such responses.

Or is the Online Play the only thing that PES09 is lacking??

Would you pay another $50 for a version of PES09 with updated kits and a playable Online??
