lol some of the excuses I've seen on here have been ridiculous such as "it's because of the camera angle so you can't see the full effect of gameplay" lool that so much bull. Let's face it Konami have made improvements, but the gameplay still looks a bit robotic, though this is far less than last year. They also still haven't got it 100% correct on gameplay and i think they know that.

Personally, i think all they need to do is sort out running animations, the way players do that sharp turn (a lot less this year from what I've seen) and also player movement.

I would never buy fifa in a million years, but as a die hard fan I'd rather face up to the truth, rather than be in self-denial.

Fifa is better in animations very true, but until fifa can have player individuality and fix the response time, and actually make dribbling effective, maybe then it can beat pes and then we can call it realistic. But until that happens, fifa is never gonna be a realistic game no matter how good the animations are.

not all the animations though, sure the pointing for space is nice and the running looks better but when you get slide tackled on 09 the massive sideways leaps into the air are just plain stupid.

for me PES wins on graphics close up, FIFA looks better far away. FIFAs passing wins but both games lack the ability to do useful long balls. and PES wins on shooting, for the first time i have played alot of FIFA this year, first time since FIFA 98 or something ridiculous. and i have liked it, but the one place it is far from rewarding is with its goals. i bit of time and you learn how to finish then every finish starts to look the same, PES has a lot more individuality with the shooting. (talking about 09 of both games of course) i think FIFA came on leaps and bounds for 09 and PES has pottered along since PES6. the vids of both 2010 games look very similar to the 09 games but both games release demos prior to release so i am sure they must feel incredibly different otherwise people will download the demo, realise they are pretty much a minor upgrade and not bother buying.

theres always a learning curve with the new PES games but these noobs who are playing are ridiculous!dammit take a shot from outside the area, show us something we havent seen in every online game we have ever played!

also i pray they remove that god awful toe poke animation when your through on goal shoulder to shoulder with somebody and they do a pathetic little toe pop straight to the keeper! its been in the game for way too long now!

I've seen precious little 360º movement in any of the PES vids. In that FIFA video Tech linked you can see 360º from the very start all the way through. Still this could be down to the plebs playing the game with a D-Pad on a non PS3 version.

Have to say the animations in FIFA10 are way better than PES, even though they do "ice skate" once or twice. It seems to me after watching about 5 or 6 different PES videos, the only motion captured animations I can see are all shooting animations (which do look nice). Everything else looks the same as PES2009 to me animation wise, especially running and those 180º passes.

Graphically it looks fantastic and will wait for the demo to feel how it plays. Still getting it on day of release as FIFA on PC is stuck back in 2007.

I agree that the animations in those videos aren't awesome, but there is a notable difference in the way they move. See it properly. It's much better than in 09. Not up to fifa's animations though.
But look deeper. The defence. Biggest problem in pes 09.
See how better they close up, see how better they clear the ball. Also even the way the AI positioning is, it's much better than in pes 09.
Another problem in pes 09 was AI and difficulty.
I can comment on the difficulty. LOOK at the videos on youtube (not the one Gamersyde posted, because it surly low level difficulty) where there is a player vs the computer. The computer closed spaces much better and it's proved by those who played it that it is harder than 09.
So if you look deeper, you can see differences.

Yeah there are a lot smoother animations but they seem to me to still be animated and not mo-capped. Look like PES2009 running animations with extra frames added.

look at the horrible skating in fifa10 i havent seen this in one of the pes2010 videos.

urmm, just watched a FIFA 10 gameplay video, to me it looks kinda strange, the players seem as if they are all chasing after the ball, also in appearance are strangley small and just look out of place as they run around! Not for me.......will try the demo tho
