enjoying a game is a very personal thing and the experience is also different for everyone.
i downloaded the FIFA demo and took my time playing it.
what i am about to say is my personal opinion and i am not taking in account what everyone else thinks about the game.
the game is SH**. I just can't feel anything while playing this game ,all the players feel the same the only thing for me worth mentioning is that the passing has improved and a few animations look nice but other than that the game is not worth mentioning when u want to talk about football games that mimic the sport.
THANK FOR DEMO'S because if it wasn't for the demo i would have bought the game.
unless someone i trust and with whom i share the same taste in games tells me that the real game blows the demo away I WILL NOT BE BUYING FIFA 10.
i don't know how i feel like this compared to other gamers especially those on PES sites that have played KONAMI football games.
i just don't understand some saying that PES is the one that has to catch up because if u ask me FIFA HAS NEVER EVEN COME CLOSE WE6i was much better than FIFA 10.
some even have the balls to say that the graphics look good well i tried to convince myself that too but my wake up call came when my fiance walked into the living room and asked me which game i was playing, and i said FIFA10 demo.
she said WHAT, so the one that's about to be released ?
i said yes.
she looked at me and said no football game that she has ever seen me play looks this bad not even when i was living alone and she started to come over once and a while.( PES4,5,6 ERA).
i just stopped then and there and i promised myself never again to try to adjust my way of thinking and force myself to enjoy a game that some say is great while it just doesn't suit me.
NOTHING,and i repeat NOTHING in the DEMO got me even a little excited and i played a lot of matches to adjust to it and tried to like it (ruined my weekend because i didn't touch PES09 I WAS AFRAID IT WOULD CLOUD MY JUDGEMENT ).
after my fiance said that i popped in my PES09 disc and everything on it felt good, felt like football.
the adrenaline you feel when running and dribbling and smashing one on goal that just hits the bar the only thing that comes close is the real deal and that's on the pitch.

FIFA JUST DOESN'T COME CLOSE.

he's not singing anymore

Going on the fifa forums im blown away by just how many people are falling in love with fifa 2010. I was an 09 addict and even i find 2010 to be utter tripe. Its so boring and it takes me like 5 minutes to think "can i really be bothered to go through all the menus?" or "Can i really be bothered to play it because i know ill get bored after 2 minutes?". Seriously i played 09 so much and i somehow had a skill level of 99 so i have some credibility when i say 2010 is such a dissapointment. Waited a frikin year for a crappy update with NOTHING majorly improved.

^Well the demo has some problems that puts away the word "realism". But that doesn't mean it's a bad game. I like it. But if pes gameplay is back, I'll choose that, because it has emotion, it lasts and it has individuality so ML will last much longer + the tactics and card settings are fun.

I been quiet cos most of the people on this forum are fucking moronic fanboys and are useless at giving decent feedback on their own game let alone fifa. lol. The demo has been well recieved. Same with pes 2010, ill make up my own mind on how it plays, i dont need a bunch of dickriders to do that for me.

i really like how you say it that nicely " it has problems but its not a bad game",and that's your honest opinion i guess so i have all the respect for it though i don't get it
all the reasons most people sum up here saying they won't be giving KONAMI their hard earned cash unless they get of their butts and produce a better game..........,PES will not be catching up to FIFA this year.........the game hasn't evolved in years blah blah blah
these things are said in comparison with FIFA and by a few that call themselves PES veterans
well let me tell you this,i am used to playing a football game with a very high standard thanks to KONAMI ,and i mean very high in every department visually, tactically, realism and physically.
yup i said it even THE physics can be felt when playing PES so their is no way in hell that i am about to give my hard earned money to EA for what they want to call a football game because it isn't
i played PES6 a few weeks ago and even those graphics look much better than what FIFA has produced on the next gen consoles for 2010 so i don't even want to talk about the rest.
the DIRT demo blew me away and i'm not a race fan still i wanna buy the game. FIFA10 DIDN'T EVEN COME CLOSE.
you have to change the way you play they say......,well that's another thing that bothers me because with the variety in ways to play the game that PES has forces no one to play the game as someone else sees fit, you just choose your style and if it works you stick to it if not you change it.
long balls , keep possesion, wing play, center play, counter attack.
you can play in anyway you like using the abilities of your players to make your perfect eleven and the stats of the players matter btw so they don't just make up the numbers.
the marketing department from EA must get a raise because everyone is buying into the hype or maybe it's just me so forgive me for not seeing the light at the moment i am enjoying the dark too much.

^But do not get me wrong. I believe that fifa 10 is better than 09, but still it has problems which some people don't see.
Problems like variety of goals for example. It's better than 09, but still not enough. Shooting is better but not good enough compared to reality. INDIVIDUALITY is the biggest downfall in fifa. Oh and I am surprised no one mentioned the AI. I saw it worse than in 09 especially your positioning of players. I hope this get fixed in the final version.
But all in all, it's still a great game.
However, I need to test pes to compare. Though if if pes' gameplay is back, I'll be really happy.

fifa10s ok its got its strengths but its very easy to get into much like a pop record and is very accessible for newbies and people that just want the basic thrills of football as theres no real learning curve
..

I disagree... think fifa has a way harder learning curve than PES cuz u have to use the pace CTR when trying to take an opponent and the special dribbling moves are hard.

Pes2010 has better dribbling and you can change the momentum of the ball with your thumstick and skinning defenders is more fluent and natual while as fifa10 requires you use the pace control and sprint button together which feels out of context with the rest of the game...

Also not quite realistic... most of the people that play PES know that u can take the whole opponents Defense with a good player (messi, C.Ronaldo...) I’ve scored lots of goals from kick offs and I don't think that's realistic.

^But that's pes 09 and 08. Pes 6 and 5 were much more realistic and you can dribble around defenders but in a realistic way that the real life players can.

^I am not sure what perfectstrike was talking about. I just said that because it is the truth about pes. I hope pes 10 goes back to pes 5/6. :)

i dont understand why people keep saying that? pes5 was good, except you couldnt breath without the opposition getting a freekick. and PES6 was good on ps2 but everybody bitched and moaned about it on next gen. personally i quite liked it bar the steps back it took, like scrapping the edit mode. it had its obvious problems which konami have had since day 1 pretty much and have still yet to change but other than that it was good, but i certainly wouldnt want to go back to it, they both could have been much better.

I've played a couple of games of the demo. First off, I really wish they'd let you play 5 minute halves instead of 3.

I'm not that impressed. Agreed that every player/team feels the same. With the Manual/Assisted settings it feels like you never have enough control. Even with the no assist on shooting I still feel like my options are only shoot really wide or put it directly at the keeper. The slightest nudge of the joystick is the only difference between those two outcomes.

Graphics aren't anything special and something about the camera or field dimensions or something seems off to me. I feel like it's difficult to tell where the ball is actually going when shot on net with the default camera. None of the other cameras seem to be more playable.

Graphics aren't anything special. Something about the player models, they're too smooth almost. It's like there's not a lot of detail as far as physical attributes below the neck.

I don't know. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't very impressed and I can't say I've enjoyed myself playing the demo.

PES 5 and 6 were clearly the best pes games. They had a muh more simulation feel to them than pes 08 and 09. They had better pace, better goals created, better passing, more individuality (especially pes 6), better shooting (felt less AI controlled), better DEFENSIVE PLAY AND MORE BALANCE BETWEEN ATTACK AND DEFENCE (especially pes 5). Those are enough to define a football game from another for me. I think those 2 games had the bets replayability aswell.

I know this isnt a Fifa forum, but I need someone who knows about fifa 09 to clarify something. Today i was palying unranked online game and came across an opponent who was using ac milan. But in this team he had all star players such as, torres, ribery, tevez, messi and a few others. How did he do this? and does this happen on ranked aswell? I find it a bit unfair.

FIFA is rubbish, i've played the new Demo, it's too easy. I haven't played FIFA for years, even though its different controls I can still win 2-0 and 3-0 on the highest level scoring great goals by just shooting from anywhere and it's only a 5 minute match.

Not the same enjoyment as PES at all, nowhere near it. Too cartoony and childlike for my liking

Things just don't look right either, the players seem too small or something and the strips look like they've been faded in bleach. Since when was the Barca home top purple and pink lol

I agree. Fifa is still to easy. I played the fifa 09 demo a couple of times at the highest level. Pes 2009 may not be the best game ever, but it certainly does challenge you a lot more..

Another thing that pisses me off about fifa, is that you see David Beckham taking a free kick with his left foot. Any player can shoot with boot feet. Rubbish. By the way EA sports totally copied the pes-control and called it "new analog control" or something like that. Think it was in fifa 2008
