lol the nonsense people come up with on here continues to amaze me it has nothing to do with how good you are at football i know people who cant play for shat but yet can run past a whole team with messi ???? explain please

oh and rooney plays fifa online are you saying he is crap at football

http://boards.ign.com/fifa_soccer/b5726/185972228/p1/

and before anyone comes in im sure he plays pro evo as well :p
Fair comment, but I will stick my neck out on the line and say that the players who run around beating people using Messi and Ronaldo most effectively are still the better players in real life, or have a superior footballing brain than the average FIFA player? Or if you want to look at it from another angle, the better players find it easier to stop these 'One Man band' type of players. I know I try to use certain tactics online to counteract this brand of football, and on the whole I think I do a good job of it. Perhaps you need a tactical overhaul, I'm sure there are many good players on this site who would be kind enough to give you a few good tips on this if you swallowed your pride a little and asked for a bit of help?

Sorry, I guess I didn't quite put my point over as i should have. I'm not saying you have to be a brilliant footballer in real life to be top drawer at PES, but you do need a good footballing brain to be at the top end of the scale. I would be willing to bet that the top players at this game are, or were, pretty good at the real thing, whether in their school days or later life. From my own experiences I believe this to be 100% true.
Kind Regards, Az.

op i get your point but at the same time pro evo is a game and with most games it can be exploited over and over again it does not take a footballing brain to do that ,by your reasoning the top COD4 players would make good soldiers

and to the guy who said barcafag who runs past the whole team no one is ever forced to be any team you can pick who you want your point not valid, and again the best players in tournaments never choose anderlecht etc so ???

I didn't say anyone was forced to go a team. I just implied it's gay that people have to rely on them to win a match. Hows my point not valid?

I go Rangers, Copenhagen, Anderlecht, etc and have no problem beating the majority of Barcafags. It's just annoying when you play these people and they think they are good by exploiting the game with their superhuman players.

I got into the top 100 on xbox live using only 'lower' teams (Copenhagen, Heerenveen, etc). In real life I'm good at passing and shooting, mediocre at everything else but watch domestic & overseas football constantly. Take out of that what you want to determine the OP's point?

"and again the best players in tournaments never choose anderlecht etc so ?"

What is your point exactly?

COD is a war simulation game, so yes, by my reasoning top COD players would be more tactically aware in a battlefield situation than a clone of themselves without any training at all. Anyone with sense would agree, so you are arguing my point for me? And as for exploiting games over and over again, the top players use this to their advantage, but must surely not let it happen to themselves otherwise they wouldn't be the top players? Just think about this properly for a while, I'm not sure you are understanding what I'm trying to say. How else are the strong separated from the weak?

I totally agree with you. By out thinking and out playing the opposition, you can beat the majority of average players who are using the better teams on the game. Fair play to you, by what you have said I would guess you are a damn good player, with a good footballing brain. Our points exactly?

Yes they would be more tactically aware but he said "better soldiers". I agree with him on this one. Using tactics, shooting guns, being aware of your men with the use of radar is all ok when your sitting in the comfort of your room. Stick these people in a real battlefield, in a real life situation with bullets flying everywhere and people dying all around him and I doubt they would be able to cope.

How can top players exploit a football match in real life though? To exploit the game on xbox/ps3 doesn't mean you are a top player. Anyone can run to the by line with Eto'o and cut it back, it doesn't require any skill and sure it's preventable but not every single time.

People who only go Barcelona and use the glitches in the game to their advantage just need to man up. You are just cheating yourself thinking you are good at the game.

I didn't literally mean COD can make you a soldier, I wouldn't insult our Troops by saying Gamers could do their job. But recently I went paintballing, Me, my brother and a few of my closest friends kicked ass, and I know a big reason for this was that we all play COD to a good standard, mainly Search and Destroy. I felt pretty much at home from the start, and I'd never been before, so I can promise you a game can have some bearing on a real life situation.

Back to Football, Beckham has exploited keepers with his free kick ability for years. Zidane, Henry, Messi, Ronaldo have exploited other fellow professionals by using their superior brains, mentality, athleticism and speed? That is what makes them Greats, or Top players. This is why they are represented with higher stats in game than Average Joe's?

This is where you are lost.

Yes amazing players obviously have better stats than not so amazing players, but that is not the point you were raising hen you started this thread.

There is a difference between footballers exploiting footballers in real life with their mentality, athleticism, speed, etc and gamers exploiting fellow gamers in a video game because there are so many flaws and glitches.

I play football at a pretty good level, and over the years have noticed one major thing :- People I know who are good at football in real life prefer Pro Evo to FIFA, and always will. I believe this is because if you have a vision of how the game should be played, or want to try things you know are possible on the field of play, Pro Evo gives you the scope to try it. FIFA is a game for Footballers who can only dream of getting a taste of what real football is like, hence they love all of the shiny presentation and the feel of playing in an official game on TV.

I know for a fact that the better player prefers Pro, so you will always have a divide between the two camps, with the majority going for FIFA these days due to the fact that most people are not any good at the real thing. So to all the good players out there, hope you enjoy PES 2010, and lets not worry about all the FIFA business because we are in the minority, but we get to play and appreciate the best Football game out there.

Finally, for all of you who do not understand what I'm trying to say:- Keep playing FIFA, You're just proving my point even more !!!

Kind of agree but I kind of disagree too.

Listen,

FIFA is played by class players, and so is PES.

FIFA is styled up and polished to give true football players and fans that same feeling you get on matchday. The same experience you get when you sit down with your gravy and chicken filled pies and watch magic unfold on the pitch.

That is the reason why our very own FIFA FOOTBALL is called THE BLING.

PES is for players who love the game just like everyone else, but they get that extra buzz from playing PES because it's more than just a football game, it a football experience that you emotional connect with.... It's your experience and your experience only, not one person who plays PES gets the same experience as another.

That is the reason why our very own PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER is called THE KING.

2 Great games. I can't say either is bad, because these games my friends, are one of the best footballing experiences you can get apart from the real game ofcourse.

So whether you play FIFA, or you play PES, it doesn't mean you're a certain player on the pitch. It means your'e a football fanatic..

Hope you understand what i'm saying.
Peace people ;)

I know that wasn't my original point when I started, but the whole point of having a discussion is to move things forward and express opinion? As I said, I'm assuming you must be a very good player to be beating these types of ''One man band'' players more often than you lose when you use the lesser teams, so surely that must be more gratifying for you? I personally love beating my friends or online players by playing the better more attractive football, but if they beat me by skinning four of my men with Messi in the last minute, I just accept that's the game? As i said, the better player prevails more often than not in my experience.

I know Torres, Messi, Henry, and Babel just to name a few, are pretty die hard Pes fans. Torres mentions that he always loses to Japanese people though. I know that having a good understanding of the game will give you an edge over casual gamers but you don't need to be a real life pro to be awesome.

Also, I know Ibra plays Fifa and he's far from a crappy player. I'm sure many top pros prefer Fifa too.

Nice post, I agree that FIFA is the more polished presentation out of the two by quite a way, though PES has definitely improved the in game graphics this year. This is why I think FIFA appeals to the more casual gamer, as it is much better advertised and marketed, thus why the majority of youngsters these days will always chose FIFA first. Don't get me wrong, I've played FIFA and by no means think it is a bad game, quite the opposite. But the depth isn't there for me, and most people I play football with in general seem to prefer PES?

Yeah me too. Don't really think we can base our opinion from which game the professionals prefer.

But as many of you mention. In general i do think that people who plays football in real life prefer pes over fifa. And the opposite. I know there may be exceptions, so don't shoot me down if you happen to be one :)

But i also think it depends on how easy you want a football game to be. In general i think fifa is easier than pes, as i posted before. That's just my opinion.

My cousin is 10 and he loves FIFA because he can play as Liverpool. Since PES2009 he has loved PES because you can play as Liverpool too since they are licensed.

I think if PES was as polished and styled/advertised as good as FIFA, then no one would even look towards EA. It would be PES PES PES all the way.

I don't think people play PES because they're good at football, I think it's just pure choice on what you pick..
The same goes with FIFA.

Look who plays PES - The likes of Torres, Messi, Babel, Drenthe some of the best players in the world.

Look who plays FIFA - The likes of Rooney, Lampard, Walcott, Xavi, some of the best players in the world.

It's not about how you play on the pitch that makes the decision on FIFA or PES. It's just what you prefer...

Guys I REALLY need to know this!!!!!!

In PES2010 Champions League mode, lets say 6 friends are going to play in each group! Do we have to play HOME & AWAY matches or can we change it to ONE FIXTURE???

In PES 2009 you couldn't change it to one fixture when you where setting up the CL competition!

Pleaaaaaaaase answer!
Thank you

Its all about advertising. Konami did hire Messi and Torres to run a campaign for their game. The get paid for saying that they are PES-Freaks. On the other hand Fifa is doing the same thing. In today's marketing politics you should not trust anyone but your mum and dad.

Does anyone of you know Torres or Messi, do you know what they do in their little free time? The most of the time they are training and prepare for their next enemy. They need to analayse the tactic of the enemy expecially in important matches like champions league matches, if they would play PES after studying through 20 pages of analaysis their head would explode...

...I hope you get it.
