BB,
You’re right, striking the balance is tough. Once you start tweaking stats for one team then you've probably got to do it for every other and that way madness can lie. And there will always be aberrations. Mizuno is a case-in-point, or is he? He's definitely a good player in PES but very rarely features for Celtic (I know he played in a pre-season vs. Fulham a couple of seasons back) but just because he doesn't play doesn't mean he's not as good a player as his stats suggest. That's something PES can never properly capture: personality and sheer force of will. Robson is an ordinary player (good left peg, mind) but he has the mental toughness that makes him a decent player whereas Mizuno is probably a more gifted technically but doesn't have the 'front' that Robson possesses. Same goes for Broadfoot at Rangers; he looks like a bricklayer who's stumbled onto a football pitch but I've got to hand it to him, he makes the very best of his ability and his opportunities and so he deserves to be in their team. Of course, the other thing that PES allows you to do is make players like Boyd or Riordan actually put in a real shift! Or make Scholes make a decent tackle… :shocking:
I did something similar to you in ML: I had the top league as EPL plus last season's SPL top 4 (losing a handful of the EPL 'lesser lights‘) and then made up the lower league with the rest of the SPL and played as Hibs. The thing I don’t like about ML is the way that teams change so drastically and improbably (for example, Rooney at Valencia Hibs were able to get Aguero). So, again, like you, I started using Community a lot more and enjoyed having the team as it should and, more or less, would be.
I like your idea about creating the Scottish season and if you do something in excel I'd be interested to see that 'cos I can't get my meagre brain around what cups fit into the league programme where and when. But yeah, I really like Community for creating different league and cup scenarios: I started the SPL with me as Hibs and the SFL with me as Ayr. Then the top and bottom 3 get swapped at the end of the season (my league, my rules!). Hibs won the league but Ayr were 4th so no conflict the following season! For the record I'm not a secret Ayr fan, it's my Dad's team!
Anyway, that's PES for you: a magnificent obsession and nothing wrong with that.

jfist, no problem. Yes I will do rest of National teams as soon as I get access to decent kit forumulae. I have a list of correct player names, although it's a bit patchy, and I'll get on with that too. Unless you have better information on Asian teams?

TT.
