If Konami Can Implement What Is In The Press Release......

KONAMI think otherwise unfortunately

My thoughts are the same.

Its looking like more of the same again this year. Improved graphics.

Always screens shots of Messi. How detailed his face is, the hair on his arms, wringled shirt, loose shorts around his legs, this year his eyes will follow the ball.......GUESS WHAT

None of the above can be seen during gameplay..unless you use the really close zoom cam. In wide screen none of the above details matters. All we need is uniforms and boots. Thats it.

When will Konami get it? Its not looking good so far for PES 2011.

Fifa looks like they get it.

maybe there's like a genetic/cultural reason why europeans are better than asians in football, and perhaps this will eventually determine fifa's overtaking of the football genre.

deep shit

Well, let's see. But I still think you're right.
And fifa does sound pretty good, but so did fifa 10 at first. Fifa gets all the hype and talk and in the end it won't deliver what it had promised. Yeah, even though fifa 10 is a great game, it still failed in BASIC areas. I hope fifa 11 won't be like that especially the AI.

I hear ya, chances are, it probably will be the same old shit from EA. I doubt EA can implement player individuality to the degree we expect within one version, my guess is they will constantly try to improve this year after year. I hope they will prove me wrong, but lets see, the AI in fifa is crazy as you pointed out, which kills the realism of the game, CPU Teams in fifa can do anything regardless of the stats and to be honest, this kind of thing has existed in pes too, i was playing a bit of pes 2010 recently on ps2 and the shittiest players were finishing like legends in their primes. I truly believe some of these programmers are lazy and cant be arsed to create a proper CPU AI so they just ramp up the cheating to give the human more of a run for his money.

The other issue in fifa 10 is not being able to go past anyone, thats crazy, in 09 i could do it occasionally with a top player by its just unreal in fifa 10.

The game is totally unbalanced, how can you have a game where dribbling past a player is useless unless you use tricks and yet the CPU can dribble past you for jokes.

Game sucked ass.

I never played world cup 2010 but people are saying that fifa 11 will be that just on a club level! fifa 10 always pisses me of but yet i cant help going back to it from time to time! pes has alot lacking for it but its way more playable than fifa! both games i can only play for 10-20 mins before get fed up and switching off the machine!

im hoping that this year both konami and EA will bring out a game that is enjoyable to play and will make you want to leave work early or send the MRS out of the room and play it lol!

Fuck me, i think those people are going a little too OTT, if this turns out to be the case, then EA are even more stupid then we orginally thought.

World cup plays a better game then fifa 10, but its slightly tweaked, no major improvments imo, having said that, it pisses in pes 2010's mouth all day long.

True especially that part. When the AI wants to score they do this:
Your defence will go out of position miserably
No matter how you try to reposition them, they'll still go anywhere especially the side backs
The AI players will push all the way through and they're always twice as strong as you no matter who you are and not to mention, they're always faster.
That to me is sooooo annoying.
I mean surly there is another way to make the game harder without those bugs I mentioned? I think there is because in fifa 09 it was better.

I agree with that,

But I must admit that for me is all about opinion, because all 10 Minute Sims have this flaw...

FIFA10 and FIFA09 have a slightly different approach, with FIFA10 it is clear that EA wanted to produce a game that revolved more around passing the ball and build-up, etc, etc; with FIFA09, it was more straightforward and unrealistic in my opinion, and the feeling was not as good as 2010.

Still, both FIFA10 and FIFA09 are more or less identical, scoring goals is very easy and the learning curve is very poor.

This is why I think both PES and FIFA need to implement a new game mode into the game, like for example, a 20 Minute Mode -- aimed at more mature audiences who want a more realistic game of Football.

But at the moment, my opinion is that the Football Genre will never truly evolve if the game revolves around the same old 10 Minute Concept: QUESTIONABLE IMPROVEMENTS...

Some people will say FIFA10 is clearly better than FIFA09, other people will think FIFA09 was better; and the same thing happens when people compare PES 2010 with PES5 or PES6.

In my opinion, the 10 Minute Concept is almost full and will not handle much more substance; therefore, every so-called "improvement" comes at the expense of something else.

So for me, these are questionable improvements: you can argue that FIFA09 is better than FIFA10 and your points would be valid, no one can say that either game is in FACT better than the other.

This is my main disappointment with both PES and FIFA, the lack of innovation,

---------------------------------------
* BAL Mode
* Sliders and Cards
* 360-Passing
----------------------------------------

What difference does it make when the game revolves around the same old concept?

Simply adding ideas and more ideas to the same concept -- will not be anything revolutionary... The COM will dictate the script, and if the COM no longer dictated the script: the game would turn into a predictable and monotonous experience.

There are so many things you can do with a 10 minute game, I think PES 2011 and FIFA 2011 will show once again a lack of innovation in the most important area,

Once PES 2011 comes out, I will probably consider it the best PES to date; on the other hand, other people will raise valid points about PES5 being better than PES 2011,

Looks interesting, wouldn't describe EA finally implementing the fundamental rules of the game in FIFA as seriously impressive but they're definitely taking steps towards categorizing their player database. Whether they'll outdo PES I very much doubt it. PES has had a semblance of individuality for 10 years and have been fully individual for at least 7. In fact the core of the engine (the only thing about the current game that isn't broken) and the AI (how ever bad it's become in recent years) is based on that law. I don't think FIFA will match it on their first attempt.

Here's something for you all, a video detailing how fifa's personality plus works, its seriously fucking impressive, if this works the way EA say it does and works for CPU AI as well as human players, its gonna be nutz.

Watch this video and ask yourself, do EA have a chance to outdo PES in the inviduality stakes??

well at last FIFA has my attention, because now they are finally entering the simulation battle with PES so it will be very interesting this year.
this looks fantastic.

good argument but i think u are forgetting the resources that EA have so i wouldn't rule it out completely

Resources mean nothing without the knowhow. I mean for all their resources it's only now that they're realizing that stats determine a footballers ability and are key to a true football simulation, which I've been fully aware of since ISS Pro '98 on the old PS. When I was 10 years old. I'm not saying they won't get there, I just think it'll take more than one installment for them to refine it. Maybe they could implement a special ability star system similar to the one PES had that gave the players personality traits and behavior in certain in game situations.

means nothing!!!! this could all be pre rendered, or worse, forcefully made to be like this in order to sell!

untill this is proven to be lagit and inside the game 100% of the time! i wont believe it!

i remember you blowing fifa 10 saying it will be the next best thing since maradona....and look where that got you! :D

Fuck

sake

All i said was that video looks impressive, which it does to most football game fans, end of conversation, it doesn't need fucking commentary about what was said last year. Also if you read my posts of late, you will also see that I am saying the same thing you are in saying, in terms of waiting for the fucking game to come out, despite that, we can discuss the content of video because Im not convinced individuality has existed in pes to the degree that has been demonstrated in the video, think about players having tigher turning circles than each other etc, its a point of discussion as is whether ea can actually implement it or not.

If you wanna talk about companies lying to sell games, look no further than Konami and their so called '360 control' which is total bullshit seeing as its about 16 ways at the fucking limit and if you wanna talk about last year you would have seen me saying how odd it was konami could go from 8 directional to full 360 control in about 2 months seeing as the 1st test versions of the game were 8 way and everyone was telling me how great it was gonna be (ps. when fifa announced it 1st, people were saying "it can ruin the game, it wont work etc lmao)

agree with u on most, except for the "resources mean nothing" part because with the resources you can buy the knowhow in most situations so i'm still not ruling out that they can nail it at the first time of trying.
but keep in mind that i'm well aware of the fact that no one markets their game the way EA does.
still they got my attention now and i am looking forward to the demo a lot.
