Hey - there's no secret! 
With Compulsions PES6 editor , I just tweaked many of (ALL PLAYERS) the stats by +5 or +10.
You do lose some of the "characteristics" of the various players, but it plays so much better, like a new game almost. (Especially if you have an old computer!)
Just make a back up of your file, then just give it a try, with trial and error.
