1v1/finishing

how do you guys go about finishing 1v1's against the goal keeper because i always seem to mess these up or my player hits it straight at the goalie. i dont really wanna run around the goal keeper because thats cheap, how do you score straight with a really good finish? aiming at the corners doesnt seem to do anything and they still blast it at the goalkeeper.

well u can always chip it over the keeper but you need a bit of pression to do so because if your striker or whatever is sprinting at top speed they can easlly muck it up so i suggest go at the keeper at a slow pace when you are just about to come into the box and when the keeper rushes out let him stay at least 5 yards away from you and the goal at just chip him i think it is LB+shoot for the xbox 360 not sure about it check. try chipping in training i hope this helps :):):)

Best advice i can offer is dont use the sprint button. Running at normal; speed, or in conjunction with the slow dribble button will allow your striker to make a better shot.

Either that, or always run diagonally towards the keeper, your less likely to spoon it straight into his arms.

I think that if you press the R1 button while pressing the shot it goes
more precious.At least I think.tell me when you check.OK?

i checked, when you press R1 with shoot they do a pathetic chip that barely gets off the floor lol. i think holding R2 makes them place it but then they always get saved. although dribbling slowly and using the super slow dribble makes it alot easier to beat the goalkeeper

Using L1 is a better chipping technique. What i do is when i am clean through, 1 v 1, as soon as the goalkeeper rushes out, i change running direction to one of the corners of the pitch and press L1 and the shoot button. This allows for a more controlled and precise chip over the keeper and into the net. Because the striker/forward is not facing the keeper when he chips it, the shot is more controlled.

Use players with a high technique.

^^^^ alot of the time on counter attacks when 1 on 1s come by often you dont get the luxery of having your best shot accuracy and technequie player to take it, i find i can always finish when using the birds eye view lol, i just use wide now insted because in training i got the hang of guessing where the far post is and i score every time now :D

i find the best way bizarre as it may sound is to press circle for a delicate chip.

you need to make sure none of your players are infront or near to the man in posession (if you are 1 on 1 i assume this would be the case)

the ball will get good height, dip quickly and home to the centre of the net from any angle.

TRY IT!!! ;)

cool idea, never even thought of that (no im not being sarcastic). will try it.

ALso, if you are on a break, say from the half way line, dribble normally, then about halfway betweeen the half-way line and the goal mouth, double tap R1 so he kicks it ahead of him then give it a massive wallop.
It gives him omre control over the ball and feels great too.

This is my favourite shot on goal. Best players to do this with are Gerrard (i was playing as England) and probably Adriano, anybody with a jinormous shot power basically.

My problem is that the opposition always intercepts it, its extremely annoying. Or they move the ball out of the way in time so that my player wallops thin air...

As for the circle trick, it works i tried it, thanks for sharing that, ive never tried it as i prefer to 100% score them than waste it on new tricks. Good call though.

When your on a break from halfcourt after a corner don't bother geting close just O+R2 from halfcourt.

i dont like chipping the goalie, doesnt work all the time, ive realised the earlier you hit it the better chance of beating the goalkeeper, right now what i do is visualise where the goal is if i cannot see and and tap square and hold in the direction of the farpost or where ever im placing it, it isnt consistant enough though because alot of the time on the break the goalkeeper comes out when im outside of the box and shots fromoutside the box are allways walloped into a random spot in the goal(namely the goalkeepers arms).

Sorry, but I go round the keeper almost every time and almost every time I do I score. Call it cheap if you like but to me that's just good forward play & in the end it's all about goals.

i agree, it is, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to try new things...

going around the keeper is almost a sure fire way to score and it does get boring...

thanks for all the new insights, i shall give the O button a try the next time im breaking away and going 1v1 with the keeper

i usually dummy the keeper, as in shoot then cancel it, even if you dont round the keeper, he will dive the wrong way then just shoot in the other direction. Job done

When i am running at goal i usually place it for the far post to which i am running.Just hit the direction to where you want the ball to go and give it a bit of power and wala.

I try to vary it from time to time, sometimes I feel like chipping the bastard and sometimes I just want an easy goal so I dummy him. A dummy usually ( 90%) ends up a tap-in but usually I prefer style over efficiency.

ye the easiest way to score is dummee but some one on here said that use the long ball button(cicrle on playstation2/3)
but if one of your teammates is near you it wont work and use the directional pad towards the goal
