Are There Referees In PES2016?

Is it just me, or is there little to no fouls every match in the recent installment? Although I love how free flowing it is, it's only the lack of fouls and free kick opportunities that's lacking for me.

The referees seem non existent for me, even when playing my mates and literally trying to put him up in the air to test the refs judgement. Nothing.

From time to time I do see him waving his arms to play on and give advantage, but sometimes you think that was 100% a booking and should have stopped play.

Do you think the refs can be patched? Or would it be because of the new collision system that there's lack of fouls, as it's pretty hard to get a shoulder tackle and win the ball back to retain possession?

I've noticed the same thing in BAL mode, players will get bodied off the ball and nothing. The only free kicks I see are ones that I cause, outside of that they never come up.

Feels like a relieve to me after FIFA 15 where the ref whistles for every silly thing, often made me wondering in who's favour because I really couldn't tell.

In just a couple of games on Top Player in PES 2016, I already received several free kicks. Maybe it's because I use a lot of skillmoves...

Ehh I tend to just dribble around opponents, when I try using skill moves it seems to activate ball seeking tackles that never miss and I go flying over the ball. When I close dribble I usually just get bodied off the ball and if I'm lucky the ref will give me the advantage but that's once in a blue moon.

The referee seems to be a mere by stander and whenever there is a harsh foul... there is also a lack of both yellow and red cards.
Linked to this topic... no player injuries? It is VERY unlikely that in real sim game, no players will be injured throughout the season, taking into account all the games played between national leagues, cups, friendly matches and national team caps.

I know what you mean with FIFA 15 refs. Free kicks for next to nothing. In PES 2016 though, there's loads of late tackles and nothing is being done about it.

Skill moves will get you free kicks almost automatically, so maybe that's the way to go about winning free kicks.

I agree. It seems between the two games the refs are either too strict or too lenient. Was playing BAL the other day and the opposition keeper got sent off because I fell over him.

Was good to see a keeper get sent off but not for a non existent challenge.

No there are player injuries, at least in BAL mode. Got my player into top form then someone broke his foot from a dirty slide tackle, the opponent only got a warning from it and I got 9 weeks in recovery.

On a side note, if you get injured while you're in top form your stats continue to climb during your injury. I got 9 weeks worth of top form training and climbed about 5 on my overall. Possible bug?

I've heard of this happening. I think it'll be patched in the first major one. As you say, in BAL there are injuries. Less fatigue though than usual.

Yeah the ref's do need some work. But on injuries, im in November on my Arsenal ML save and so far I have had 2 injuries. Giroud out for 4weeks after practice injury and Alexis out for 6weeks after injury in a match. So for me that is 2 kind off longterm injuries more then I have ever had on pes 2015...

Has anyone tried diving to win fouls? Maybe tricking the ref is way to go.

I have more free kicks now in January on my Master League save then entire 1st half of the season combined. And we do get message on ML that the player has worked hard to get more free kicks or something. So I just wonder does it really work like that in ML or is it just coincidence that I have more free kicks now?...Have atleast 4-5 players that I have got message that they are working hard to get free kicks in some situations...

I believe there is a player skill this year which is described as 'the player is more likely to draw fouls and win free kicks.' I think I saw it in some video. Can anyone please go through the help text on player skills and confirm/deny this?
