Bad passes

hm , let me see , pes 2009 is ok . When i say ok i mind graphic , but , the gameplay is HOLY S**T , because , whenever i try to pass the ball to some player it passes to someone else , it's never correct , and , sliding tackles are crap , because every 3rd tackle is automated . Controlled player is 30 meters away and some other player always do a sliding tackle . That's all :slap:

PRACTICE. PASSES ARE GREAT, THE DIRECTIONS REALLY HAVE A GREAT IMPACT ON WHERE THE BALL GOES unlike pes 08 and other pes. Also sliding tackel aren't bad, but you need a good defender, and perfect timing.

Just to add to what p14yo has said. Another thing very important to keep in mind is that high "pass accuracy" doesn't mean that your pass will go directly to the target. The pass can be intercepted (usually). That's why is important high "pass speed" and "technique". And, of course, it depends a lot on yourself! :)

Personally, i feel the game flows allloooot better on unassisted mode, where you have to manually have to switch between players yourself.

Are you talking about manual passing? I've actually never bothered to use it because it seemed like so much work just trying to get used to it. But I've found that the assisted passing (especially crossing in the box) to be quite limited this time.

How powerful and useful is manual passing? Also will it help in improving the quality of crosses in the box - both along the ground and lobbed?

^Even in a normal pass. The directions really do matter this time. I was talking about a normal pass.
The manual pass also rely on the direction you give it. Also manual pass regulates the power. I think the game would be harder and better with manual pass, but I haven't got used to it.

..Ok guys i think its time manual passes get used more often ..

10 years of playing PES and ISS makes me now to realize that manual passes are the 'future'..lots of "simple" balls are now inaccurate..

thats why KONAMI abolish R3 stick pressing, makes easier the manual passing..

lol "Manual" pass.

Im afraid to tell you PES only has 8 axis' of direction. Meaning you can only direct your passes UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT or the immediate diagonal between those directions.

The closest player you have towards any of the axis PES will automatically target to. Meaning if you have two players close together PES may target the wrong player you wanted the pass to go to. The only thing manual pass is really doing is dictating the amount of power/strength put into your pass.

Until PES moves onto 16 axis' of direction manual pass is pretty much a novelty.

If you dont believe me go into Practice mode and mess around with manual pass, especially at the back, you will find that passes you are making are actually changing by about 25 degrees to the nearest player.

I dunno about PS3 and Xbox, but I tested this on PC with PS2 controllers connected to a hub (which supports 16 axis direction in the drivers) and Microsoft certified Xbox 360 controllers for PC.

y the big deal in passing if u never misplace a pass the opposition would hardly get the ball. Also in real football dont players misplace passes??

it doesnt

I said it seems to have. But the thing is that when I sometiems use manual pass the right stick is so senstive to it and it depends on where the other player is. That's why it seems to have more directions.
