BAL mode broken

Let me start of by saying 2 things. Firstly, I've been so disappointed with the game mode that i took the time to create an account on these forums. Second: I'm 100% a fifa fan. The only reason i've bought PES for the last 3 years is because i found the BAL mode to be much more addictive than fifa's equivalent. I've always found it captivating. But somehow, this years edition is broken beyond repair in my opinion.

So last week i decided i wanted to buy PES again, although i've had fun with this years fifa. I wanted to start another BAL carreer. Mind you, by now i've started over 3 times. I'll say only one thing about my first save: i created a AMF with a starting overall of 63, joined Zwolle. Went through 2 seasons and got subbed in twice. No other playtime apart from the training matches.

Now, on to my recent save. Created a left winger with a starting overall of 63. The first letdown in my opinion, compared to previous versions where you got a couple offers to choose from, is you just join a random club. But ok, i'll try to start off my carreer with friggin Marguaparrena in a non-existant league with non-existant players. start of the season i got subbed in a couple of times. The last game -a cup game- i come into the game on the hourmark, facing a 2-1 defeat. I manage to score the equaliser. Dramatically, they score 3-2 in the 89'. I still score an equaliser in minute 92 and eventually go on to score the winner in extra time, completing my first hattrick. Now, if any 17 year old did this in real life, the Messi comparisons would be all over the papers. Yet, my rating is only an 8.
Next game is a friendly, i'm in the starting lineup. We win 4-0 : 1 assist & 3 goals from my left foot. rating: 7.5
If you'd rack up such a performance in fifa, you would get an 9.7. And well deserved i'd say.
The next league game i don't even get picked. I need to impress the manager more. Really? What kind of performances would you expect from a 17yo i wonder?

I still only get subbed in at the hourmark or later (as a second striker, never on my regular position) & i feel that if i don't score my rating will be 6.5 at most - regardless of the chances i create, my movement etc
scoring twice in those measly 30 minutes of playtime has only ever gotten me a 7.5 rating.

so for me the entire game mode is broken. 40€ down the drain & feeling absolutely gutted. I liked this game mode a hell of a lot more in previous versions.

I do apologize for the blatant rant, but i'm just so disappointed with a game mode that was ahead of fifa in my opinion.
Wondering if anyone's had similar experiences or if i'm just doing something wrong.

last games stats as a second forward again: minutes played: 45. goals: 3. Attempts 6 (5 on target). Passes 5 (5 succesful). Rating; 7.0 .... surreal.

First at all,on what difficulty settings are you playing ??

Second,PES games are meant to be played with mods,i advise you getting SMOKE PATCH mode with 1.02 exe which fix allot of AI issuses. It also fix all league,players names,boots,balls,stadiums,it adds tons of new teams/countries.

Other note,rating system is broken,true dat. Also i don't understand how manager picks up players for match,what about trainer or coach ???





To see why i'm advising to play with mode,i started as CF in eredivisie at Heracles Almelo,at age of 17. Half of my time at their place i didn't get chance to play,and when i did i sucked monkey balls because you know,i'm 17 years old playing for his first profesional club.

Then i moved to Willem 2,where i started to get better,and coach (Or manager in this story -,-) started putting me in first team,at end of season we finished sixt which was great thing because they were on 14 place. I spent nearly three season at them,in this time i won once assist leader of season,and best scorer in eredivisie cup,nothing fancy,i was still youngster. Then i went to nice,great season,everything fine i was 21 so i was more experienced. After season at nice i got opportunity to move to bundesliga to Wolfsburg which were in Champions League..

My point,it took me some time to get better,because of difficulty settings and smoke patch,with NOTICE,1.02 exe (1.03 doesn't fix shit,it goes back as 1.01,it ruins everything).

i've set difficulty to medium, because i'm not a regular pes player.

i'm playing the game on ps3 so unsure if i can use the patch you said below. I'll look into it though, thx for the tip.

However i still believe the essence of the game is just broken.
At this point (january) i'm the league top scorer. Scored 17 goals out of 14 games (bare in mind i only get subbed in deep in the second half, so getting a max of 30 minutes a game), i'm the trainers so called number one pick for the right wing. Yet he never puts me in his starting XI.

even worse: the last game i played last night i got into the game in minute 85 as a striker. I didn't receive one pass from my teammates. Still the game thought a 5.5 rating was justified. Result: i wasn't even in the trainers rating anymore.

Imo, this game mode was a lot better a few years ago and needs a serious revamp.

My last hope is working on stamina. I've read somewhere stamina could be the reason you get little gametime.
Anyway, i'm getting constant 7's or above (still feels weird that in PES, that's considered a 'good' rating) & i'm top scorer in both league & cup so i hope to get picked up by another club next season. Hope it gets better over time like you said below

My main issuse with this mode is relativly stupid ai,and not opponents,by my team's..They do such stupid mistakes that it makes me tear my hair our,but they have their peak here and there hehe. Other thing that bothers me allot is how other opponent scores goals,for example in i don't score goal whole match allot of the times opponent doesn't score as well,but if i score,they'll score back in few minutes..And don't even start me on last minute goals :|

KONAMI's first goal for next game would be to fix AI,because its broken as well.


Otherwise can't comment on previous BAL modes because this is my first PES since 06,and i don't believe they had BAL 7 years ago lol.

on the rating issue, i actually think pes have a more realistic rating system than fifa.if you compare with real life, players never get 9 as rating or even 8.A player that gets 7 is most of the times the mvp.

Its not just the problem of not being selected to the starting 11. You also unable to move to better team. Its because game algorythm was changed, and now its all about your overall skill. Low skill - no transfer to top club, even if you play like god.
In my case game idiocity was at its peak. I started as SS at so called "Variamosuk" in imaginary PES league. I only got transfer proposal from clubs like Barca/Real/MU when my overall became 80+. At this point I was world best player twice, 3 times won UCL, won World Cup. So I decided to stay in "Variamosuk" till the end of career, because there really no sense to move somewere after what I achieved.

untrue. When in real life any 17yo gets subbed in and scores 3, thus securing victory in a game his side were losing, he would certainly get an above 7 rating.. I'm not sure what kind of papers you're reading, if they never rate above 7..
Much prefer fifa over pes this year, in particular because of this rating system. If you don't score 1 or 2 goals, you'll get a 6 or 6,5
On its own, that doesn't bother me, but it vastly reduces your "coach rating", thus reducing your play time, thus reducing transfer options, thus rendering this game mode pointless.

I think BAL mode is not that bad! I am a PES fan for sure! And to switch from PES 2012 to PES 2013 game play is quite challenging, but the opponents' intelligent in PES 2013 gets better than in previous versions. About BAL, I think you have to be patient and just adapt the game play, as with other mode (like master league). I do like a challenge. I'm 20yo now and I've already too many boots. I started playing in superstar mode, and I was in PES league. I felt the opponents were not much better than me either in play or in stats (form of player affects), but in 18yo when I moved to WE league I was getting frustrated as I couldn't be the man of the match as many as when I was in PES league (sure I was frequently benched or even just watching my team). So I switched the difficulty level to top player, then I was quite happy but still hardly believed why the opponents were that strong. As the time went by, I was hold by my team and offered with 2 years extension with salary 10 times higher than the previous salary; to be exact it was around 2million US$. I was so happy and I did some club search after a half year (WE united is Libertadores champion league, so its last half season is UEFA champion league's first half one). I do love SS Lazio and surely I sent my agent (agent rank no.3 from US) to this lovely club. I was surprised I was offered a 1-year contract with pretty much the same salary after being watched by their scout for about a month. I switched back the difficultly level to superstar and felt some hard times for about a half year, but now (a year later) S.S. Lazio offers me a 2-year extension for 9million US$ because of my performances (I got man of the match almost in every match). I'm an AMF with overall stats 81 (83 with any boot preferably morelia neo and dribbling speed 5+ boost and body balance 5+ boost.) Even though I think my teammates are not that good as I expect or maybe everybody would expect, I enjoy play with them in superstar mode. Playing with favorite team is more than anything. Speaking of BAL mode, I think there are couple of times that it makes me crazy, but wisely speaking, the programmer just want to makes us frustrated sometimes (looks broken maybe, but i think it's so true sometimes that I want throw my sticks to my laptop) and eventually my game will so bad as hell. PS: Sorry for my poor english.

I am using the unpatched PES 2013 because I heard it's hard to work out with the patches (like the game will crash sometimes)

I agree with you in many parts from the original post as every year we see less and less freedom of choice coming from Konami (i couldn't even select with what boots start, or in what team to play this year). Your role as ss is to create more chances for goal by doing crosses by the side, giving more assists, giving the ball to the one that ask it and scoring if it is possible. When the coach is saying "you must go back and play defense and if you steal the BalL don't lose it" you must do it. The coach is giving a difrent rating to the payers that play in the same team with you and you must manage to be on top in every game.

Is not easy to have all pass right, all your crosses goals and all your assists perfect (arround 10 can give you a 9) If you get offside is -0.5 from your total rating try avoid it. In the end i delete this game from my system.

I never buy before i try is a good rule to follow also.
