Beating the big teams

Nothings better online than beating one of the big team users with a small team. One of my favourite teams to do this is using Roma or Uraguay to do this. Just out of interest what small teams have you found that no one else really use's but have one or two star players that help you beat the big boys online?

On a side note - anyone know if Konami are planning to put the copa libertadores teams online. Really want to play as Corinthians and play old school style with Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo again :crymore:

Hi, no plans on Libertadores teams, (better base copy Ronaldo since he retired). Recently I've been using Udinese. Di Natale is awesome and they have a really great defense like Crisitan Zapata is probably one of the best under the radar defenders in PES 2011. Not to mention a solid midfield with Inler and Asamoah. Plus I'm a big fan of using Wingbacks so its a no brainer to be this team.

yeah i've tried them a few times as well. The italian teams - Parma, Fiorentina, Lazio etc are never used and have so many great players - but they get overlooked by everyone since they go for the Brazils, barca's of the game.

Ever tried Fiorentina ? Gilardino upfront along with Mutu - thats if you remember those guys - Both deadly finishers.

Yo I love being Viola. Amazin defense Frey is a 92!! Pkus Santana has an amazing long cross. Only downside is that if Gilardino is down you have no backup unless you go with a SS leading the attack.

I'm liking the Fiorentina love on here. They are very good on this game. Obviously Muto is a bit of a beast, but they still have Jovetic as well. Even Babacar can do a job, I often bring him on for Gilardino if he isn't doing the job, or if I'm winning comfortably.
Juve are also a good team to use, as well as Marseille, Villareal, Valencia, Sevilla.

I use PSG and Lyon.
The 3 things i look for are at least 1 attacker with 80+ shooting accuracy and technique otherwise you will not score any goals against the big teams and a couple of midfielders with passing 75+ or you will not be creating any chances for your attacker and last of all, all of these should have a form of 5 and above or they will always be blue and purple when using them.

If you guys like Fiorentina then you'll love Roma. I tried them a few days ago and its like living in the past - Totti up front with Julio baptista. Both have great shot technique and accuracy, and you have hidden gems in the mid-field with Pizzaro who is great at dinking in little through balls. You can partner De Rossi alongside him as well.

barca and real are boring

I use Roma all the time, with a 4-4-2 and a diamond in the middle. De rossi as the defensive midfeilder..Menez and Pizzaro on the wings and Totti at the tip of the spike. I use Vucinic and Borriello as the front 2. If they have down arrows you have powerful replacements like Baptista and of course Adriano. Im a Roma fan so im biased!! :)

I agree tho, its great beating Real and Barca who i face 99% of the time..its getting boring. Oh and Roma's back four are really strong aswell...Mexes and Juan are a great pairing with Riise and Cicinho making forward runs to protect the flanks. Julio Sergio is the default keeper but Doni has the better rating overall so never overlook him. Forza ROMA!

I like using Catania, Brescia and Lazio myself. Catania especially if I want a ball-bustingly difficult challenge.

I've used Catania once against a similar level side... the were quite good. Maxi Lopez is a beast.

are you telling me i can play with option files online? :shocking:

If so, i would like to have a link immediately :D

You can get all the option files on this site. I'm on PS3 and I used Rainey's OF.

Obviously, the stats of the players will be set to default online. The only thing that changes is how the teams appear.... team name and strip.

Your opponent's teams will appear as you have them on your system. For example, if they pick Everton and they don't have an OF.... you'll still see it as Everton, but they'll see it as Merseyside Blue.

Alright, thank you guys!

For some reason, i always thought option files could only be used offline and therefore never downloaded any, as i only play PES online.
