bitz's player editing - Greek Superliga

Hi everyone. In this thread I'll give a try to stat modifying. As I am Greek, my editing will be focused on Greek players or foreing players that play for Olympiacos OCFP and Panathinaikos FC, the two Greek major clubs featured in PES 5. I may even try other players. Note that I have no previous experience in editing, I just decided to have a go influenced by bagrunnel's amazing work. Thus my work is in primary stage. I will primarily post stats, maybe even physique alterations and accessories when i think its necessary. Also under each player i'll post an analysis. I repeat that my form of work is influenced mostly by bagrunnel, so credit to him ( in case of my being accused for stealing ideas or editing pattern!). I do not take requests now. Maybe sometime in the future.

Well this is Haruna Babangida or "Baba" or "Babatourist" they call him inside the club. He is mostly renowned for his cheerful(!) nature and character, tries all the time to make his teammates laugh! The sympathetic short player (1.67) is very famous among Olympiacos fans even though he is not very reliable in the pitch.
*Without the ball movement - Babangida is a very light and short player thus very quick and difficult for the opponents to mark.
*With the ball movement/Dribbling/Technique/Shooting - This is Haruna's asset. When he receives the ball it is very hard to predict his next move as he has a good vision. His dribbling speed is quite accurate and quick. Concerning shooting and scoring, Haruna doesn't possess a strong and accurate shot so he doesnt score frequently. The set pieces are left to more skilled kickers.
*Team play - Haruna generally favours to play for the team but sometimes he doesn't decide what is it better to do, give the ball or dribble. Here come his inspirations that have lead to a goal most times. His long balls skill stands out in his passing abilities, with the rest being above average.
*Strengh/Balance/Athleticism - Babangida's body type doesn't help him in marking and it is easy to push him away from the ball although he he is consistent and aggressive sometimes to keep the ball on his feet. He is not often used in the starting lineup of the team, usually comes in as a substitute after 70' (that frustrates him as he has said) but generally he has a good stamina and mentality value.

Well, bitz what can I say.

Firstly Its great to have someone editing in a specialist manner! Someone who we can look to when we dont have knowledge of players from these Greek clubs. (I definitely count myself amongst these people!)

I am honoured that you have been influenced by some of the stuff I have been doing, and its great to think that I am able to give something BACK to this editing community, be it with my own work, or by encouraging or influencing another person to provide these 'editing services'

Finally, I just wanted to mention that if you ever wanted to chat about stat mechanics, principles, anything like that, dont hesitate to PM me or ask on my thread. I hope I can maybe help you in that sense, and I hope it will make your work even better.

I will keep an eye on this thread (When I can spare one!), and will give feedback when I can.

Cheers, and goodbye

Here we have Nasief Morris, a very good tool in the hands of Panathinaikos. Nasief plays as a center back but he can perform equally well as a right side back. The analysis won't be very extended as in my view stats speak better for defenders.
*Without the ball movement/Positioning - Morris's defensive mentality is obvious. He is very aware of opposing threats and is good to cover gaps and can quickly return back after joining an attack in a corner kick.
*Aerial play (heading, jump) - Nasief is very good in aerial play with a high jump value of 86 slightly boosted by a balance of 80, making him strong in winning aerial challenges. His heading is mostly for clearing the ball but has scored a few well executed headers.
*With the ball movement - Generally good top speed and acceleration but not anything else worth to mention.
*Team play - This is where Morris often dissapoints. His passing is not accurate and quick enough and his mistakes, which, although are very few, have costed the team important matches such as a derby with Olympiakos this year, when he tried to return the ball to his keeper but the pass was horrible and the Olympiakos forward intercepted the ball and scored.

Here's Rivaldo or "Ribo" as we Olympiacos supporters call him. Rivaldo's course is memorable as he played a key role for major clubs Barcelona and Milan and for Brazil national team in 2002' World Cup finishing among the top scorers. He finally reaches his peak, playing for Olympiacos the last two seasons and after that he will probably retire.
*Without the ball movement - Rivaldo's age and years carrying on his back do not allow him for maximum performance so everything that has to do with stamina and physical condition is hampered. Average top speed and acceleration, in contrast with his flair and courage which he has surprisingly maintained over the years, allowing him to give 100% of his strengh and during important matches (he sometimes even runs back to defend!)
*With the ball movement/technique/dribbling - All of them high assets of Rivaldo. Granting him the ability to dribble fast when needed, even though the last years he favours a simpler type of play without tricks and skills. That doesn't prevent him from demonstrating a few brazilian moves over time, such as the move when he runs from down side which is opposite to his favoured foot and shoots with his good foot crossed behind the other ( this move must have a name but I can't remember now so I described it! If somebody has understood which move i mean give the name please:p).
*Balance - Rivaldo despite his years has a good body coordination and a good balance. It is hard for an opponent to steal the ball due to his balance of 87 combined with his very good technique. I remember a certain game in the Greek league where four opponents fell on Rivaldo who started a run from the center till the goal area and none of the players could contain even though being quicker and younger.
*Shooting, scoring, set pieces - Rivaldo's experience make him profficient in scoring screamers from afar, 1-on-1s and from free kicks. He is really good in using the outside of the boot, his foot is powerful and he can put great curve in his shots. Considering free kick accuracy, Rivaldo can be characterised Juninho of Greece scoring the most FKs then any other player this year. His shots are always well placed.
*Team play - Rivaldo plays for the team and he cooperates well with teammates, with quick one-two passes and great first touch. His passing accuracy could be better though.

For one that has watched Olympiakos' progress since Rivaldo joined the club, those above do not mean much, as the services he has offered to the club worth a lot. This player deserves recognition not only for his football skills but also for his humble and plain personality.

NOTE: Due to a stupid stupid stupid mistake of mine, Yaya's analysis is lost and i do not keep the files. Sorry for the inconvenience.

"Dida is a cool-headed goalkeeper, capable of making amazing saves which more than compensate for his occasional moments of inconsistency.

Renowned in Brazil for his penalty-saving abilities, he confirmed his national team place after the 1998 FIFA World Cup™, although he had already played in the CONMEBOL Copa America and the 1996 Olympic Football Tournament.

Has won many major competitions in his long career including the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup, Copa America, the Brazilian and Italian championships and cups, UEFA Champions League, CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Championship."*

As said above, the brazilian is a skilled goalie with plenty of experience gained by playing with Milan in Serie A and his national team.
With an impressive bodytype (1.95), truly towering above other players, gifted with great shot stopping ability, amazing aerial skills and unequaled reflexes, Dida is truly a keeper we like to watch. 99 represents the perfect in Pes 5 and Konami didn't think twice to give Dida 99 for response. I didn't hesitate either:).You 'll notice i've tweaked his passing abilities. This a point I want to make about goalies. Goalies job is guard the post and prevent opponents from scoring a goal, but that does not mean they cannot pass the ball when needed! Konami did bad on that and gave 99% of the keepers passing skills below 55! Even when a player has e.g 68 for short pass accuracy chances are that his passes will be quite inaccurate, ending up in opponents possession. In nowadays football, we see players turn back to give the ball to goalie often for the goalie to "reorganise" play by a long or short pass. Thus i believe its not realistic for keepers to have such low stats i these fields. This is my opinion and i do expect your comments on that!:)
Finishing with Dida, i also increased his tehnique slightly as I've noticed he has a better first touch than the average goalkeeper. His mentality is now yellow as i increased it to 81 because Dida plays better when the team is losing or when facing consistent opponent attacks. Speaking of consistency you 'll notice that i lowered that skill because sometimes dida hesitates to rush out from the post or cannot quickly decide to stay in his post or rush for the ball.Lastly, I lowered Didas balance although the default value was better in the eye, taken into account his that he is tall. I did that because i've noticed that the lower the balance for a keeper, the more difficult is for him to get the ball steady in his arms, consequently he prefers punching it clear instead of collecting with arms or when makes a save sends it out for corner instead for trapping it. Thats what Dida usually does, thats how Dida plays in my opinion. I believe its much better tha the default. Try him out and i expect comments!
