Hi im in my 3rd season with Man City and Hamann has been amazing this season despite a stats drop and he has scored loads from his CM position from free kicks and long shots he also dominates each end he tackles ,passes and is amazing for me.In the pre season I signed Aquilani as a back up but he just isnt good enough apart from gerrard can anyone recommend a great CM like Hamann that is box to box with a lethal shot?

That's quite interesting - Hamann in real life is the very opposite of what I'd call a box-to-box CM.

If you have the money, definately get Tom Huddlestone. Also, maybe Lucas

yea i know its only been like this since i changed formations and in the 3rd season he has become a leader thats the only way to describe him!

I like the sound of Huddlestone I rem him scoring past me once cant rem when but he was a difficult player to play against.Lucas I wont get as Liverpool have sold Gerrard to Chelsea and Lucas is rated A and plays all the time with Alonso in the middle for them

How young is he (in real life)? He looks well old, so I've never considered buying.

Also he's a massive hacker, but I could do with some brawn/thuggery in my midfield.

Yes. He's clearly a poor man's Assou-Ekotto.

I might start a new ML, sign Fellaini, Assou-Ekotto, Valderrama, Higuita, Souness and Keegan.

i thought fellaini is a striker... i didn't understand the first sentence about a poor man.

Fellaini is a goal-scoring centre mid.

By saying he's a poor man's Assou-Ekotto, I mean he is a worse version of him, purely because Assou-Ekotto's hair is bigger.

Hes not old he's 21!!! but yes he does look old. And he's the best box-to-box midfielder you could get for not too much, in the anderlecht academy he scored 63 goals in 2 season as a cm. But he is not the best defensively (he cant tackle)

Reo Coker gets really really good after a couple of seasons his defense is like 79 or 80. shot accuracy low 80s 92 power and low 80s shot technique...he shoots blinders...hamsik and coutadeur are both really good too

moutinho has done a decent job for me.

he's cheap but he's not in the very top bracket, kaiser is also decent at it after a couple of years

Lucac/Piatti/Brunt/Maniche

If you're early on in the game, I definately back up Brunt - he has been excellent for me, singularly my best player, maybe along with Gutierrez in my first four seasons, but this fifth one he's lost it a bit, gonna lose his first team place to Molyneux. But his shot power is so sublime, he's like a mini-Ronaldo (thin Ronaldo, that is).
