Hi guys, :crymore: I desperately need help with PES 2009. I play on Regular difficulty and lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :realmad: I play PES for 6 years and there isn't any improvement!!!! :realmad: What the damned heck am I doing wrong!!!!!!!! :realmad: Please let this be a petition for a beginners to help them. Do you have any tips, tricks, advices, guides, manuals... ANYTHING :crymore: I play PES for 6 f****** years and there are no results!!! :realmad: Even my brother who never played PES before (except when I invited him to play against me) BEATEN ME!!! :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :crymore: :crymore: :crymore: Please GUIDE, TIP, TRICK ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crymore: I will be really grateful for the one who helps me and will give the reward if I'm happy with answer. No one can teach you how to play the game, practise makes perfect.

As for tips, you will find many floating around on these forums, either flick back a couple pages or use the search.

People can keep giving the same tips out but then their would be no point of the search option.

Also, if you like the game allot, and your willing to spend a bit more money, you have the official PES09 guide available to buy. Its only £8.99. But like I said, that's only if you want it.

I can give you a few tips but as someone said previously, it maybe worth investing in the PES 2009 Strategy Guide. I remember buying the PES6 guide a couple of years back and it really was helpful, you honestly get your moneys worth as it is a really thick information packed book. The PES6 guide I bought would probably still be very relative today.

A mistake a lot of people make is they cosntantly use the sprint button, but the reality is you rarely need to use it unless you're breaking free down the wing, preparing for strikes etc. Just limit the amount you hold the sprint button, especially when receiving a pass, just be careful because if you're holding the sprint button a lot of the time the players will make heavy touches allowing the opposition a chance to tackle you.

Try upping the difficulty level, it might sound crazy but you truly do increase your standard. The more you get used to Professional or even Top Player, you'll become a better player. Best thing to do is play possession football too, rarely focus on dribbling past players (especially as it's difficult on PES 2009) so really emphasise a passing game. Even if the passes are just 5 yards to another teammate, they might have more space and that way you will reduce the other teams stamina as they'll be chasing the ball all game.

That's all you need to do on the easy setting to win a game.

Try to learn to make a good formation. A good formation can make up for a limited skill. If you lose often, use defensive-counter formation for a starter. For example, 4-4-2 with SB, CB, 2 DMF, 2 AMF, 2 CF. Learn about the formation, that is the key. Formation+tactics+strategy is god. I can't stress it enough but that's it.

I have many friends who have played a lot of PES and their individual skill is beyond words, but even messi or ronaldinho can't keep up with solid defense.

p.s.: if you want to beat the AI, it's fairly easy because they use the same thinking pattern and after playing enough games, you'll know their tendencies.

for beating players, 2 things will make it 10 times easier...

1. the R2 shimmy, as you're changing direction 45-90 degrees when running at players, hold R2 whilst you're doing it, does a nice little shimmy.

2. shot feint, hit X as your power bar for your shot is going up.

beats players easily, even on top player
