"The Euro 2016 content pack for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will not lock out Edit mode, Brand Manager Adam Bhatti has confirmed to Squawka.
Following the extension of Konami’s partnership with UEFA last summer, it was announced that Euro 2016 would be joining the Champions League and Europa League on PES’ list of licences.
However, the news was slightly tempered by Konami’s licensing agreement only covering 15 of the tournament’s 24 teams.
The sides without authentic kits in the game comprise: Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Romania and Hungary.
In an interview with Squawka, Bhatti has stated that – as in the base game – there will be a simple way for gamers to recreate any Euro 2016 match with the sides’ latest jerseys, thanks to the widely available community-created option files.
When asked whether the new content would still allow replica kits to be applied via the Edit mode, Bhatti revealed: “Absolutely. That side of it won’t change. We won’t be locking out any of those teams from the Edit mode. For the 15 teams that are licensed, you won’t be able to edit those kits, but I’m not sure that you’d want to anyway. The nine that are unlicensed you can definitely go in and do what you want with them.”
Not sure about what to make of this... I assumed that the Euro add-on would be like "a game within a game"... As in the licensed kits and stadium would only be available in the Euro mode...
Also, when it comes to national teams kits, it may not be as simple as people think. For example, FIFA does not have a licensed Belgium. So, if Konami can't get it and EA don't have it, there has to be another issue...
