Gee's PES2008 PS2/PSP Option File 20/21

So I finally ‘finished’ my PES2008 20/21 option file. I say finished, meaning stats, but still have many faces and some kits to do. This is no way up to the standard of @Heisenberg 's excellent PES2008 option file.

This option file is mainly to improve the Master League experience, to make it more realistic, to improve transfers, and to hopefully get rid of those 5000 players that can randomly appear.

In order to do that I have not unlocked any classic teams or players, and I have not used any of the spare teams.

Most stats are taken from https://pesstatsdatabase.com and those not on PSD are taken from https://www.pes6.es
I have made some global changes to the stats to slow the gameplay down slightly.

Top Speed = -15
Acceleration = -15
Dribble Speed = -15
Short Pass Speed = -10
Long Pass Speed = -10
Stamina for SB’s and WB’s = +5

It has been said before that making changes like this is not good for ML because when retired players are ‘resurrected’ and hidden players appear their stats won’t have the global adjustments. But for me personally that is not much of a problem as stats will increase and decrease as the ML progresses anyway. When I have tested the ML over a few seasons it has been fine for me.

My aim was to get all English Premier League and Championship clubs included without using the ‘spare’ teams as mentioned above. Also there are not as many Emblem Slots as you get in PES5 and 6 so I was limited to how many teams I could overwrite as I wanted all teams to have the correct (even if dated default) emblems. Which meant I had to keep many default teams in the option file and also scatter around the Championship teams throughout the leagues.

I would have like to have included all teams for all nations but I am still happy with the selection.

I have changed the formations to be the same as what is shown at https://sofifa.com but I am not an expert on tactics as some of you guys are so they could be better.

Also, I am doing January transfer update with this file as I now want to get on with playing ML and enjoying the game itself. But, I will do stat updates everyday on the player’s birthdays and I will do their faces as I go along, if at that time they are playing for another club then I will move them to that club but I won't consiously look to do January transfer updates.

Although I am not doing a January transfer update I will update the file for next season.

Hi, you can edit over licensed club teams (not national teams) by using Compulsion's editor here ... downloads.html

1. Start the editor and open up the main option file.
2. Select 'File"
3. Open OF2, which can be the same option file as your main one.
4. Select the 'Team' tab.
5. Double click the licensed team that you want to edit over, an 'Import Kit' list will open up.
6. Double click a team from that list (this is being selected from option file 2 that you loaded earlier). Make sure it is one of the unlicensed teams in the game.
7. Select what emblem you would also like to use with that team, you can also press cancel and it won't select any emblem. You can add an emblem later.
8. Select a logo that will be on the 'new' team's kit. Again you can select cancel. You can add a logo later. Sometimes you have to do this twice.
9. That is it, you just have to change the name of the unlicensed team and the emblem and edit the kit using the 'in game' editor.

I am having an issue adding a badge. im getting an error message that says "PNG files must be INDEXED format".

I am trying to add a Hibernian badge. I resized it to 64x64. I think it has to be converted to rgb but i do not know how to do it.

Hi, you need to download PNGoo to be able to convert it.

Here is how to do it:-

1. Open PNGoo
2. Tick 'Output to Same Directory'
3. Add Files (to add the emblem)
4. Click 'Colour Settings'
5. Change to 16 (I normally have 16 coloured emblems so that I can fit more into the option file).
6. Click 'OK'
7. Click 'Go!'

That should be it.

Thank you for your help. PNGoo fixed my problem.

I was just resizing an emblem image but that didnt work. I tried on photoshop and still couldnt get it to work. All good now thou.

No worries, i am pleased that it helped.

I am struggling myself on some things too. I was trying to do the ‘3’ logo on Chelsea’s kit but every thing i did i could not change the colour of the logo in game. For example on the home kit it is white and on the away kit it is black (i think) I managed to get it done eventually but i can’t remember how because it was just by chance.
