Gran Turismo 5 [PS3]

Doesn't seem to be a thread on this surprisingly. Guess people didn't know if it was ever going to appear as it's now 6 years in the making.

But November 3rd (give or take a day worldwide) is the European release date.

Some of the features:
- Car damage(!)
- 1000 cars
- 16 player online
- World Rally Championship licence
- NASCAR licence
- Go-karting
- Top Gear test track

Personally, I've never been a big Gran Turismo nut. I have number 3, but I was never particularly good. I've improved at racing games since though, so maybe this is something for me to consider buying. Especially if it is as good as it looks.

I'm not a big racing game fan, but I had a lot of fun in two player mode with GT2 (the best one, imo), GT3 and the Burnout series. Never got around to getting (or even playing) GT4 and I never got into the Need For Speed series.

This one looks fantastic though. Too good to pass on I think.

I wasn't even sure if this was released or not. They've taken their bloody time.

Expect to see huge limited edition versions and collectors editions available, along with a 900 page strategy guide and £50 worth of downloadable content. :lol:

Still though, I've no doubt the game itself will be nothing short of stunning, at least visually and the feel of it also. I absolutely loved GT1, 2 and most of all GT3. Me and my friends used to play it constantly, the two best feelings on GT? Completing all the licenses was one, and winning a Polyphony was the other. Unfortunately though I just couldn't get into GT4 that much, it almost felt as though the soul of the game was missing. Don't get me wrong, I still played it for a good while and enjoyed it, but it just wasn't a patch on GT3 despite having more tracks, cars, licenses etc.

It's a shame I'm an Xbox 360 owner, but I might be able to persuade my brother into buying this game for his PS3 (he lives away but no doubt we'll all get together for the Christmas month and have a great time).

Yes. This game is gonna fucking own. I've been waiting for it for so long, can anyone think of a disabling disease that you can recover from? Something I can pretend I have when it comes out so I don't have to go to work.

I've been waiting for this game since GT4 lol. This is the game i'm most looking forward to of all, and I see all other games as just passing time until this baby arrives.

Comtemplating buying a steering wheel and pedals for this one, although i'd have to make a stand myself because I have nowhere to attach it to.

Man, they're so obsessed with perfection. They should have just release the game. If there's any bugs, just release the patch(es) like normal developers would do.

Nah, I like their style. Make sure the game is in the best possible shape there is, before release.

Even though it is probably less than 30%, you have to remember some people don't have their PS3 online and won't be able to download those update patches.

Anyway, the weather effects look incredible & I can't wait to play it...only problem is I'll be shuffling between GT5, FIFA 11 & COD:Black Ops!

Not really. The game's finished and being stamped on disc. There were rumours of November 27th but that's a Saturday so not altogether accurate rumours. I'm going to stick my neck out and say it will definitely make Christmas.
