^AWESOME. Really awesome.
2 games left for my first season to end. I scored 14 goals.

Thanks mate.
I can't believe how addicting this game type is. I have considered starting over a few times (perhaps making an AMF) but can't pull away - I am almost sentimentally tied to my character!

I posted in the FAQ thread and didn't get an answer so I will try here--
Is there a trick to stepping up for free-kicks? I am set on the lineup card as the short/long free-kick taker, but whenever a free is given in the appropriate area (18 - 30yds) another player (usually a midfielder) takes it. Any trick to it or do I just need more seniority in the squad? (can't let the youngster take all the glory! ;))

Ive got fed up with this game now, its stupid. Second season at Villa as CF played 13 games (most of which I was subbed on) and scored 6 times already doing really well. I was starting most games etc..

Then all of a suddent I stop getting any decent kind of pass from my team and virtually never get the ball, instead of the wingers crossing the ball to me they just try and take on the opposition and lose it. Then I start receiving ratings like 5 and 5.5 just because no one has given me a decent pass or throughball like the first few games.

Left Villa for Everton, really is stupid how all of a sudden my team stops sedning me the ball and i cant score in 10 games and keep getting put on bench.

the past few days i have really gotten addicted to this mode.
i'm only in my first season (just past the winter break) and though it was a little slow going at first, i can feel my guy improving all the time (or maybe it's partially me improving too, since i'm in america, i've only had the game about 3 weeks).
anyway, i made my guy a left-winger because i've always put a lot of emphasis on wing play in past pes/winning 11 games. (i'll probably go more central next wime around thanks to the advice on htis thread.)

so i'm playing for West Ham and we've been in 4th most of the season. it took me a tough 9-10 weeks to break onto the bench, and another couple weeks to get a start, but now i'm starting more than half the time.
West Ham usually play a 4-5-1, which i hate, but i often make it a 4-4-2 just because i play too far forward a lot trying to get involved and get us some goals.
my first goal came in dramatic style against Man City in the cup. we won the first leg 2-0, but were losing the 2nd leg 2-0. things were looking dire until i made a run through the middle and sprung a lazy offside trap...i was through one-on-one with the 'keeper and slotted it home in the bottom right corner...with my right foot even! (i'm left-footed.) that put us up 3-2 on agg. and won the tie. what a feeling!
then a couple weeks late we had the next round against the other Manc's, and things were much more dire this time around (as one might expect against the Red Devils.) we were down 3-1 at home when i came on at halftime and totally changed the game. we came back to make it 4-4 in the end with me scoring one and getting an assist, and of course, MotM. another moment a ecstasy!

so i've got 2 goals, an assist, 2 MIP awards, and one MotM...we're trying to solidify 4th, and i think i'll be content with staying with the Hammers next year (unless something really really good comes along.)
so yeah, awesome stuff!

I'm 21, WF, on top player. I haven't scored quite as many as you, and half way through this season playing for Fulham (as SMF), Man U wanted to sign me. I'm a Gooner, so I rejected the offer, and signed for Newcastle. I've played one game for them so far and it was great. They use wingers, so I am now playing in my natural position, getting the ball much more often in the kinds of attacking situations I want. Things are looking up, though I have struggled a lot so far, with rating averages around 6.2 or worse most years :(.

lol dont sweat it, im like that too, same settings...usually only get the ball to create chances to assist on a goal. And also have around 6.3 in average

well, i just made the biggest mistake of my life. after scoring 13 and assisting 12 for west ham i moved over to newcastle because they were playing in the champions league. im a smf but they offered me cmf and smf in their 4-3-3 formation. i barely play and when i do i get like 20 mins.

^After some time you'll be on the first team if you play well I guess.
I am in the second season with Catania. I went with them for the uefa cup because Genoa (my previous club) didn't enter. IN 3 GAMES, THERE WILL BE THE MIDDLE NEGOTIATIONS but I'll stay. So far I scored 10 goals and won 5 MOF and 4 MIP with Catania. I think I'm doing great.

hey all, long time lurker, first time poster.

started as a cmf, top player, with sparta rotterdam. played pretty well, ended with a 6.89 rating over 29 games. second season i played a lot better, coming in with a 7.17 rating over 29 games. got called up to the national team in time for the 2010 World Cup, and we won it! i made the team of the tournament despite being injured for 3 games (that C injury rating bites).

after that i was hoping for a move to a big club, but was greeted by more dutch clubs and a few italian lower clubs. i signed on with Torino F.C., a team one rank higher than sparta. been doing well so far, and i just got named to the european team of the year.

my base speed and stam were decent, so i spent all my time improving my kick technique and dirbble technique, a little bit of power too.

i posted a highlight vid here

I scored 43 goals in my second season and I have 3 games remaining. I entered the top scoring category and am a top scorer of D1 cup, masters cup and 1 goal behind in the league.

i was put in goal and have been playing like demon since i also have saved 3 penalties this season and have been called up to the cameroon squad for the world cup! although the manager plays me as a striker which is my normal position

Regular.;) I hate how defenders can always run past you even in regular. My speed is 84.
I played top player and it isn't much different than regular.

i agree with shaun7.

Top player isnt much different from regular other than you get closed down a wee bit faster and in top player, defenders always get fooled by the fake shot.

43 goals second season? definitely not top player...

I got 38 goals in my second season on top player - it's not that hard. This was in about 60 games though. This season, my third, i'm on about 30 in 30, and just past the mid season break. It helps that I am taking penalties as I'm at Pompey, and sometimes free kicks. If I was at Moan United i would be winning them and then watching Ronaldo blast them over every time.

I reckon I could have scored way more too, I pass to Defoe quite often when I could have a shot myself instead.
