43 goals second season? definitely not top player...
I wouldn't have believed that either, had I not witness my 12 year old brother rake in 40+ goals in 50 odd games. An average rating of about 7.5. It pains me when I have to work my ass off to get a shot on goal, let alone score. I play as an AMF 13 in 33 is the best I've done.

I have made a similar mistake to someone who posted earlier. I believe they moved to Newcastle.

I was playing at Wigan as an AMF and was starting games and being subbed in 2nd half, usually around 65-75 min mark. I was doing decent, nothing too special. But then in the January transfer window came Man City offer and they were 4th in the table so I thought it's a good idea to join them, at least the quality of players is much better, so perhaps I can enjoy it more.

It turns out that the BAL is pretty realistic and when you are a young starter player and join a high profile club with the likes of Elano and Ireland, there is a high chance you will be on the bench. That's what happened to me. I only played one half of a game and couple of times subbed at the 80+ min!!!

So I think I will either change teams at end of season, or even better start all over again and with what I know now probably focus on more playtime to improve my player.

It's so realistic that when games pass without playing I get REALLY pissed and disappointed. I can only imagine how it feels for reall players such as Tevez and Robbie Keane when they end up on the bench for the entire game.

I'm really struggling now. I find that my team has been letting me down so much (Newcastle). I hate this mode sometimes, but I can't stop playing. I'm hoping that getting some of my stats up will help...

What are some of the stats that have helped people the most? For example, going from 74 to 75 for dribble speed has helped me a lot so far, also 74-75 for balance and obviously shot accuracy.

I dont even play become a legend anymore...master league is better for me :)

There just wasnt enough substance for me to carry on playing...and to be honest it lost its novelty soon after I started playing master league....oh well eh :)

I agree. I still have mine saved becaused I started over as an AMF but then I started a ML with Fulham and I am enjoying that more at the moment.

just finished my 2nd season. moved over to FC Twente from West Ham for my 2nd year. thought i was pretty content with West Ham, but i got tired of playing that 4-5-1...i would always have to come in from the LW and practically play SS for us to have any success. well, i get to Twente and they play a 4-5-1, too! but they do push the wingers way up so it's almost a 4-3-3, so that's how i play it.

so my first match with Twente is against Chelsea in the CL group quali's. i came on at about 60 mins with us 2-0 down. well i turn the game around by scoring and playing a blinder and we end up drawing (away from home) 2-2...pretty satisfying.

the first half of our season wasn't great...we stayed around 5th-7th place most of the time, and failed to qualify for either thew "CL" or "UEFA Cup". but i was starting every game and doing well, so i was pretty content.
then came the 2nd half of the season and it was like a whole new game!
we ended up finishing the season with 15 straight wins in all comp's (11 league, 4 cup)! climbing from (i think) 7th all the way to 2nd in the league, and winning the cup.
i ended up with Top Scorer and Assister in the cup, and was Twente's 2nd top scorer in the league (which says more about our crap strikers than my skill from the wing).
i finished with 17 goals, 12 assists, 8 MotM's, and 1 MIP in 40 matches. i think that's pretty good for an 18 year old left-winger.
after the amazing end to our season, i'm eager for next season with Twente.

I'm loving it, was at Babylan fc, then Wigan Fc, then Westham FC, Then spent two seasons at Newcastle winning them the Leaugue and uefa championship,
Then in the transfers i had 7 teams battling for me, i saw Chelsea make an offer on the third day of Negs so i quickly accepted seeing that i'm a chelsea man, i was over the moon because Cristiano Ronaldo is there as well and i have been playing alongside him in mid field. There is also Jenas and Carrick in mid field. The only thing that pissed me off is that Cech went to Barca as soon as i got there, so it Cudicini the 1st keeper then Woods.

Had a bit of a bad spell in my Fulham ML so I am going back to my BAL for a bit. I am playing as an AMF, currently on Napoli trying to make the bench. I figure I willl play this and my ML.

I'm still confused what factor(s) the game uses to decide whether to sub me out during a game. I'm in season 2 playing a CF/SS and often get subbed out at around 50-60 min even after I score a goal and am still well fit.

What pisses me off is that after I get subbed out the opponent almost always scores back right way. argg!!!

I think i really love BAL but at times i have to wonder LOL. Im just about to finish my first season. Im an AMF with N.E.C and we are second in the league. I i have 9 goals and 3 assist with about 10 or so games left. The thing that really annoys me is the play of the A.I Its just awful at times. They try to cross the ball by kicking it at the defenders legs other times they pass it to the covered guy and then sometimes they pass it to where i was and not where im going. But all in all i really like BAL. I ve learned to adjust to the A.I But still have some problems shooting(i have a bad habit of not getting set before i fire the ball way over the net). I still get subed out around the 80th min no matter how good im doing but thats fine for now.

I really like BAL but sometimes when it starts cheating it makes me angry. Now I'm playing ML again.
I just won the DI cup and ended as top scorer and won the top scorer award and the MVP award in the 2nd season.

I must say BaL is a very challenging mode but once u master it graduadly becomes more fun. I think every1 should try the player camera view. Its more fun n realistic, n u will find a whole new challenge to this mode. Its easy to use the other types of view but its easy n theres no challenge. People should learn from me, use the player view n u feel ur life has been enriched.

hahahaha.... what you on about, 'life enriched'. with out a doubt the best fews are wide and ball or maybe wide and player. player camera view i suppose is okay, just not really good enough to get the most out of pro. '..easy n theres no challenge..' yeh ok. lol

Even if you play BAL with the regular camera rather than player. It's still difficult because you need to find position from the radar which is hard. But I agree that player camera is more realistic.
BTW in BAL 2nd season I scored 52 goals.
Won: League top scorer (I'm not sure if I won the MVP), D1 cup top scorer and MVP, Masters cup top scorer and MVP.

Have you tried it? I totally agree that it is an entirely new way of playing that adds a whole new sense of realism to the game... But it's harder than using the traditional game cams, no doubting that. For example, you don't know who is behind you, like in real football, and it's always more difficult to see how a play is developing from 1st person, as opposed to a bird's eye view. If you've ever played in a real match, then watched one from the stands, then you know how much easier it is to criticise from afar, but you have to admit that takes away from the realism of the experience. When you play in a real game, you don't see everything, just your own perspective... Scoring goals in player cam, especially from long distance, is also 10X more rewarding - in my opinion.
