It doesn't work the same way on the 360, I was hoping it would. The :x: is A on 360, and that works fine for under 25m free-kicks, but anything more, you have to use Y - :triangle: on PS2 - to get power. The keepers always reach the ball and make unbelievable saves, that's coz of a lack of power from shots. I don't know if it's the same on PS2, but I'm sure it is.

Me and Zico are THE FUCKING DONS when it comes to free kicks.

If I had a free kick within 40m there was a good chance it was going in.

Zico shits trains.

Me and him share a long bond ever since he became the cover boy and Konami made him mint.

Anyway, my scoring rate was around the 30-40% mark on all versions before this.

But I finally managed to play PES6 seriously with mates, and CHRIST. The element of the game which involved pure skill has been fucking ruined.

Before you could lightly press and let the bar fill up a bit more knowing that you'd get dip, or you could have it a few fractions past the midpoint, hold up on the analogue AND right/left (depending on curl) on the D-pad and know that you'll be smashing the shit out of the fucker.

This has been completely removed.

Now you have to get the power bar anywhere near the midpoint and don't have to bother with the analogue/D-pad bit.

But yeah.

Actuall it's cool as I still play, and prefer, patched WE10.

PES6 feels way too "Europanised" for my liking. They seem to cleanse the core of the game out for us.

I scored one from about 25 yards with Adriano on Top Player settings. Made my day!! Aimed about 2m inside right post, powered up to almost halfway whilest holding up on the d-pad, then once the camera angle changed I held right+down on the d-pad and pressed triangle to make the player strike the ball harder,

Curled into the top right hand corner, and did i save the replay? You betcha!!

I have scored around 3 and I have had game for two days, well easy I think, also when dribbling on the edge of box (in a normal situation), stop press the direction in which you are facing and hit the shoot button at the same time, probably the best way to score outside the area, I havn't played online yet and will be doing so next week.

That is with the techniques posted earlier. As others have mentioned it's all about practice. But if your playing against a mate or some cocky git online and you can put one of those in, there is no better feeling.:D

It seems a lot more random now though.

Pressure seems to do fuck all, get the power in the right area, sort your curve out and hope fate hands you a nice outcome.

hahaha, I just remembered I scored a free-kick with Lampard on the first day I got it. Edge of the area I blasted it in the keepers top corner. With those free kicks (type 8) you can usually blast it at the keeper from the edge of the area and it go in. It works quite well.
