How to defense against the AIs

Loving the game so far, except the defense mechanism. I play on top player and super star, and once the AIs start their passing game you basically have a problem getting the ball. My teammates are not moving until the AIs pass the ball, and by the time they get close, the AIs would pass again. Teammates are not getting into positions to block passes, and they are just standing there chilling. I tried to adjust the defense team instructions, but the effect wasn't significant. Playing with other people has no issues like that because people still make error on passes sometimes, but the AIs can always pull off 10-20 passes in a row without any way to steal the ball.

How do all you guys counter that? Please share some tips, thanks!

then your not good enough to play on superstar , lower the difficulty to suit your ability. im at the stage where i have 100 trust level with barcelona on superstar but im 5th in the league and lost el classico 5-2 but since then ive won like 6 in a row my latest 0-3 away to espanyol and im in the copa del ray semis and have chelsea in last 16 CL so onwards and upwards! : )

I wanted to ask the exact same question. It has nothing to do with skill but more with how the cpu plays the game. I beat Chelsea 4-0 on top player and played a great, fun game. The next game agains Crystal Palace they just held the ball on midfield, I would send all my guys but they pass accuracy in 95% so my guys just ended up getting tired. (I just dropped controller until AI decided after 15 passes to move forward).

Game ended 0-0 . my possession at 37%. Tried moving the defensive line up, but then I almost got burned by the AI on a long pass
