How good is fifa mate because i am tempted to get it.Have not played fifa since 1996 but i know all the guys that were on here from the "INSIGHT" days have switched over to fifa which was a suprise especially when they were hardcore pes gamers.Would it be a good gameplay wise as ps1 or 2 versions?

it would be hard for you with fifa like it was with me, ive never really played fifa before 2009.. it starts off well, but tryin to play the game the same way as pes can get very frustrating..if you do decide to get it you should start from the bottom and re-set your hands...just try to play as a real game would play...as ive said before both pes and fifa are only as good as you play it, dont slip into the easy repetitive ways of scorein as this is where it can get boring (as does pes)
oh and stay away from really good players until it clicks as it really can frustrate

Regardless of wether i just picked up Pes 2009 and it is the first football game i have ever played, it does not make my opinion any lesser or more important than any of yours, there are only a few educated people that have been posting here others have just brought there own issues in to it.
The thread is if you hate pes and why, the whole fifa thing (allthough i am aware i have been bringing it up), is tottaly irrelevant.
But to answer your question, what pro has over fifa.
Player movment
Players Faces
Motion
Ball movment
Player animation
Enjoyment Factor
A LEauge type mode that lasts over 4 seasons
The graphics.
Sensible Ai (at times it slips but hey)
But again as i have stated alot of times and people like this fool above me have cried about is that it is my opinion, so wether you like it or not, it is not your place to go and tell me i am this i am that just cause i say i like the game. i do like the game alot, hence why im defending it if you all like fifa so much, dont come here and tell me why im an idiot, go to a fifa forum and tell them there geniuses.

Thats good for you, and i hope it helps you sleep at night, but as this is a website for people who air there views as you so aptly put it, i dont see how you could see someone as anything, many people have said things to me on this forum that i dont agree with a few insulting me, but hey, i get over it as i will never have to meet any of you in real life, the mature ones usually after going of on one end up saying good banter, or something like that as we are arguing over a game,what you say abotu me or pro does not affect my life i just enjoy comming on here to hear/see peoples opinions and wonder why? and argue/debate back, and then people like you ruin the experience.

PES5 and PES6 are still better than the Latest FIFA. But if you you want Graphics along with decent Gameplay, you don't like PES09, so Why not give FIFA09 a try?
Though maybe the wisest thing you can do is just keep playing the Older versions.

Player movement off the ball is infinitely better in Fifa 09 than PES 2009. In PES your winger and fullback hold hands, you can't instruct a player to make an off the ball run without doing a give and go, it just all makes no sense. Half the time, rather than defenders covering an attacker to block the pass, they stay still and the attacker goes and stands behind them!
The ball physics are amazing in Fifa once you get used to them. Pro Evo goes for the cannon ball method where power shots are always straight as a die.
The player animation is SO much better in Fifa, and you'd be stupid to argue that. PES is very limited as far as animations go. The graphics in general are far superior infact.
Enjoyment factor. The most important part and an opinion that is entirely subjective. I have been hardcore PES/ISS for 15 years until this year. And i mean playing it all year until the next one's released, at an average of probably 3 hours a day. I would never have dreamt of converting to Fifa had it not been very special, and it is.
The fact that you Mr Darkstar have converted from Fifa to Pro Evo of late really says something about your taste (or lack of) in footballing games. You missed out on Pro Evo during it's glory days, and are now missing out on Fifa in it's glory days, you must not know what makes a good football game.

No, all i care about is the gameplay, not putting dog heads on 7ft tall players and taking 5 hours to edit a badge. Fifa already has the correct kits anyway, so no need to edit unless you're ridiculously particular.

Well again like i said it is my opinion and i dont feel stupid to argue but i have played fifa alot and when drogba and mikel run, i cant tell the difference where as on pro, they all have seperate engines.
i like the feel of pro, the way the players move and when the ball moves, everything about it "in my opinion" is far superior to fifas. and i know people who agree and people who disagree, i dont know if there is a winner in that department, just depends what you wanna see i guess?
And as for your last comment, i dont belive it says anythign about my taste, like i have stated many a times, a few of my friends are fifa fans and i have borrowed there copys for weeks played it with them also and i still do not find it appealing at all. i dont belive it is in its glory days infact Fifa 03/04 were the best so far, again in my opinion so noone bite my head of!
thats only cos its easier to debate when someone has had a moan, cos it upsets people, anyway half this threat is probabley just swearing and abuse aimed at someones opinion, abit ridiculous really.
also i do think more people than ever are unhappy with it this year tho after thinking last year was a one off poor edition.
i havnt had the chance to try FIFA properly and apparantly its far worse on PC than consoles anyway, but as for PES09 ive had enough really, dont think its bad, its a good game, i probably havnt given it enough time but i have recently found a fully patched out PES6 is far more fun and tbh i cant be bothered with the hours not really enjoying the game when i could playing 6. so for me 6 till PES10
