I am at the moment considering contacting konami with my thoughts on how pes is now testing my patience. If fifa wasn't so bad I might even turn to the dark side.
I have major gripes with the new pes, in fact they have been running gripes for a few years now, which Konami should sort out. In truth I have now problem with the general game engine and the overall feel of the game but a few niggly things spoil the whole experience.
This is suppose to be REAL football and believe Konami even went to the world cup in Germany to get the feel of how the game should reproduce the beautiful game...why then do I find the same things wrong with it. Are Konami getting like fifa, same old game every year. I'll start my niggles with the obvious...
Teams, why so few? Come on Konami lets have more, at least so we can play with teams that compete in the qualifiers for the major tournaments not to mention more club sides. This leads on to one of my big problems...League C teams! What the hell is the point of them? You can't use them in master league, so there goes coca cola championship idea. Also there's no where you can use them as a league as you can only use them in a konami league which supports 16 teams and not the 18 here. This is just sloppy.
Throw ins...why why why does my left winger, or vice versa, decide to run the width of the pitch and get involved with a throw on the right? Who does this, school boys perhaps?
Goal keepers who refuse to throw the ball to full backs and instead throw it to your midfielder who then loses it and BANG goal, one down...nice one.
Free kicks...why can't I knock it backwards to keep possesion? Leading on to goal kicks, why does my striker always run to the half way line and not stay close to the defender, stopping the short goal kick?
Don't get me started on the edit mode!!! One thing has always puzzled me though. If Konami are sponsored by adidas why can't they have say Liverpools kit, made by adidas, but without the logos and sponsor? The dissapearing logo slots are also annoying, are we going backwards here?
Master league is my major gripe, and there's so much to be pissed about. Give us money not points. Stats that appear to suit themselves, I'll explain this. I recently played against Chelsea and chased Malouda who was in possesion of the ball. Now I checked this and his speed stats are low 80's (I think) but he out paced my midfielder who's stats were in the 90's? Do they mean sod all here?
Fatigue oh I hate this SO much. It completely ruins the game. Who's ever heard of a professional footballer who plays 2 games and then needs a rest, well Darren Anderton was always up there. Even my goalkeeper, I mean that takes the piss. I have to change my entire midfield and front two enearly every game while the computer controlled teams play the same eleven every week! I push sprint once during the game and you just know he's now out for a week cos he's knackered!! Absolute bollocks. Lampard and Gerrard play every week, well stevie would if not for Rafa.
If Konami want us to use our squad players more why not have something more believable like injuries...I mean they do happen and a LOT more than in pes. I've played a season and had none! Lets have muscle strains, head injuries and the like. How can you get the top scorer in the league if he can only play every other game?
Yellow cards...20 games into a season I checked the card count. I had 24, most other teams had 3-4! Some had 1!! Ahh thats why there's no injuries in the game but hang on they get them against me...is there some kind of joke going on that I don't know about...lets play like fairys when we play each other.
Weather, there is none really. Rain does nothing but make my eyes go funny. Lets have a real downpour that tears up the pitch! Reckless tackles galore anyone? I want the computer teams to start hacking me down when I'm winning.
Well I'm sure I've missed loads but it's a start. Konami have to start watching football and stop bullshitting us that there game is as close as you can get without getting muddy cos in its current form, it's nothing like the beautiful game, not by a long way.
