I second that.
Giggs is also underrated.
Although I like Smithy, he seems a bit on the good side in this one.
Its not all about stats. Stars and their size makes a difference to how they play. ie. little players are faster and more nimble. So Messi and Lennon are actually faster than they look.

many of you guys keep referring to overated and underated players based on stats. if u actually play with the players you will realise players like adriano are not overated. his stats are overated just like in real life on paper hes overated, but in the actual game he cannot finish! he has sumin like 99 for accuracy yet ive had numerous one on ones wiv the keeper and he cant cut it! his stats dont match up when u actually play wiv him!

no offence mate but maybe its your fault he doesn't finish the 1 on 1's its a little harder on pes6 than previous versions

the most underated player for me in the prem is robbie savage he grafts his arse off like and blackburn miss him when he isnt in the side
the most overated player for me is probly shevchenko i knew when he first come to the prem he will not get half as many goals as he did when playing for ac milan.

That's a great call , typically the flair players get much better stats that the destroyers even though they are just as important.
Quotation in agreement. Football is a very complicated philosophy and every one has his vision. But I think, I usually say it, the most sensitive position on pitch is the defensive and the center midfielder. Even though, the strikers are always in the spotlight.

Kolo Toure, Walcott, Gary Neville, Crouch, IMO are underrated. Can't think of any overrated ones that haven't been mentioned already.. I reckon that the stats are generally better this time round.

Lampard is way overrated, i dont think ive seen him give the ball away yet. Actually its quite accurate as he is well overrated in real life.

Shaun Maloney - Celtic (just about every stat is quite low)
Shunsuke Nakamura - Dribbling,passing,shooting is underated
Cesc Fabregas (Dunno what konami are doing)
Freddie Adu (guy may be young but is way underrated)
Juninho (Lyon) Passing could be better and shooting ability
James McFadden - everton -Dribbling and pace could be better
Tim Cahill - everton - Alot of stats should be altered
Stillian Petrov - Aston Villa - General ability should be higher
Gareth Barry - Aston Villa - General ability should be higher
Craig Bellamy - Liverpool - Acceleration should be slightly higher
Darren Fletcher - Man UTD - passing should be slightly higher
Craig Gordan - Heatrs/Scotland - described as one of the best up and coming GK in the world but isnt reflected in the slightest.

Ronaldinho gets alot of lucky breaks but this is generally what he is like

Recoba / Was a hot prostpect / Has done little since ronaldo departed
Ronaldo / Alot of personal problems with Madrid, No team would Knock back his Signature
Ronaldinho / Stage fright/ Has yet to show his Genius on the big stage
Rivaldo / Was one of the best players / Now getting on isnt as fast, skillfull or as deadly in the box.

I agree with some people's comments here.
The most underrated players that stand out for me are Gary Neville and Lehmann.
Gary Neville is hugely influential for both England and Man Utd. And Lehmann has improved hugely recently and had a great season with both Arsenal and Germany.
Both deserve better stats in my opinion.

Gary Neville isn't by any mean underrated. As a player, he isn't that impressive. However, he is tactically good and this is the point. Lehmann also isn't underrated. He stops very dangerous chances and on the other hand, he let easy goals to hit the back of his net. Rate him now.

I think Lehmann is underrated on it, His GK Skills is only on 79 and he isn't even in the German squad.
Last time I saw Cahill's doing a header (yes, i'm an arsenal fan) he seemed like he really wasn't all about the headings, he really missed it out [arsenal-everton]. That doesn't happen in a player with 90+ heading as you say.

Gerrard's just a colossus :ninja:. I agree about the faces Gerrard's face on PES5 was unique but Konami have got it all wrong for PES6. Alonso's on the other hand is a big improvement from what they were using for PES4 and 5.
