That's exactly why and it's been such a huge problem and is 1 reason that stops Konami from being a more realistic sim. Player development has always been way off in the magic league (I refuse to call it by the proper name until Konami gets their shit together). Common sense shows that you should never gimp a ton of players just to compensate for the bogus development in the magic league. It would make far more sense to tone down player development to a more realistic level. I mean for the longest time I was so sick of seeing Maxi Rodriguez develop to an average of 95 (literally he had 95 in every department!) despite being 28 years of age, which is when players usually peak and either level out for a bit or start declining. That didn't make any sense to Konami though. They figured a player that no one was really making too much fuss about, who showed not a single sign of drastically improving, should development into a legend in a matter of months.

Then you have players who get higher ratings then 99 now and you just lose all hope. Big reason why many of us has never touched the ML is because this fantasy bs is just too much to take in. Really the main thing Konami needs is hiring someone with common sense. For the past few years, not a single soul there showed any signs of common sense and honestly even only 1 guy will do. Just 1 guy with common sense to speak up and say "no sir imo removing the league mode is a idiotic idea" or "no sir although Maxi Rodriguez is a decent player he shows absolutely no signs of rapidly becoming a legend in the game." That 1 guy with common sense can help Konami bring Pes back to where it belongs.

Of course I know what you mean, but you are talking in real life not PES and in general...two things which I don't have a problem with.

My problem is with MARTINS because he is never a powerful shooter, plus in PES (or any game), when you have a shot power of 87 I don't think you need accuracy.

I know that Younes Kaboul has a more powerful shot than Messi, but does that means he is a better shooter?

Its not ridiculous, its factually incorrect, I got Gilardino mixed up with Totti. Both look like mincing fops so you can excuse the mistake I'm sure. He had the most assists as well judging by the stats, so he indeed warranted his place.

As for Ribery, he didn't have a bad World Cup but this point does seem rather redundant.

The thread on the whole is an interesting read but its become a dichotomy of logic and nonsense. Case in point, Sneijder is a powerful striker of the ball but he's gone off the boil in recent times, doesn't diminish his ability to shoot and the sheer power he generates, just means his ability to remain consistent has.

I don't think Pato was THAT overrated somewhat but the "most?" hmm but I did buy him in the 2012 game on my master league where i proceeded to achieve the premiership title followed by a double the following season and he was my star man..)

But regarding this thread..I don't see what is the BIG problem if your not happy with a players statistics change them!! easy enough :)

And on that topic.. I would like some information my PES 2012 has been edited so many times to a point wherby im pretty damn happy with the players stats for the whole EPL....and as well I changed starting line ups formations and edited the strategies so that every team has 4 formations normal ie default or Real // Alternative tactic formation/ /Defensive //and attack where most teams have either 4 or 5 players in the front line..these are changed with the buttons so can change them on the fly...My question though is where is the data for these team set up options stored..I know its not where the players are stored because trying to import the 2012 database into pes 2013 does not import the team strategies which let me tell you took me a long time to make...I appologise to admins for going somewhat of topic ) thx

I haven't read all the posts in the topic but what I think is few years back Martins was on the cover of PES so they at Konami rate him highly.

Well you said it yourself. he is very good on top form ....thats what the form arrows are for when the form arrow is a downward purple the players perform pretty badly.

don't think nani deserves 90,he is playing poorly in epl(currently),85 is far better for nani than 90.

The overall rating does not account for consistency so while 90 seems high, its his overall technical and physical prowess. Yes before someone mentions the form the stat, we've already established how redundant this is. Its a percentile equation not a representative establishing of a players actual consistency.

What each player needs are 3 ratings technical, physical and attitude - with the latter being the most important capturing form based on big match occasions, versatility, willingness to sit on the bench and a general attitude, placid, determined, aggressive etc.

Form or consistency is such a pivotal factor in football, that's never really been adequately covered in any football game. Can't remember who, but someone on this site suggested a two tier RPG style average/maximum type stat model for players, which I'd love to see.

But yeah, and what Sminky said. More 'mental' attributes.
