PC Troubleshooting Thread (PES 2008 ONLY)

Can I get some help w/this please.
Hi!
I have problems nowadays running pes2008, i have new comp:
-AMD Phenom 64 Quadcore 9750
-Asus M3A motherboard
-4GB DDR2 800Mhz memory
-500GB WD Sata2 16mb
-Geforce 8800 GT 512mb
-20x DVDRW
-550W power
it randomly freezes on loading screens. then i have to ctrl alt del and shut it down. I have installed kitserver but it didnt help and i have pes 1.2

I just got a copy of PES 08 from Playasia.com the Asian version for the PC, but it is in English, Konami didn't make the PC version for the US this year, so when I patch the game with the Konami v1.1 or v1.2 patch and click on the desktop icon to play the game it says the game is not installed, all after I tested the game right after I put it in, but before I put the patch in, Also when I try to put the Patch in using the auto-installer I get the 1628 error message "installation failed" any ideas??

Game sticking in full screen mode.....
I want an OF/patch that has real kits, logos etc and tweaked gameplay in order to improve my PES experience. I've tried a couple of different patches but both seem to cause identical delays in my game suggesting it's an issue with PES rather than the patches.
It sticks after the team select screen until I exit full screen into windowed mode and then back again. It does the same after the player/formation selection screen before it goes into an actual game. I've been told this may be a kitserver issue. It runs fine in windowed mode but I wanna play it full screen. It also runs perfectly in full screen with basic install version and no patches, kitserver etc. Any ideas on how to fix?

Joypad issues
I've been playing PES2008 on the PC for a few weeks now. However, I'm struggling to dribble due to a technical PC issue.
I bought a PSX to PC adapter to use my PS2 controller on the PC. However, the right analogue stick did not seem to function in game, meaning I couldn't do any of the tricks to dribble past people. When I go into settings (within the C:\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 folder) and choose to use control pad, it comes up and allows me to select the button configuration and the right analogue stick works here. However, it is a bit wonky initially, meaning that when i press it up it says right on the screen and when i press left it claims i'm pushing up. I can change these though so that the directions match what I'm choosing. However, this does not work in game.
I then went out and bought a PC specific wireless joypad (which cost me a lot!) and it's exactly the same. It registers in settings, though wrong directions initially until I configure it, and then it does not work at all in game.
Anyone else had these issues? Anyone able to help?

Today i bought pes 2008 for the pc, installed it, played a game and it worked fine, so i decided to use a patch that i downloaded previously, so i installed AFS Explorer and loading up the files required, but i was getting warning messages, which i didnt understand so i decided against it,
I then opened up PES 08 to play it normally, but after 2-3 seconds it says "not responding", so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but the same problems occur, any one got advice
btw before uninstalling the game, i did back up the files and copied them into the pes directory but no luck as well

Did you wipe it off completely, restart the machine, install it fresh and, without applying patches, try to play? It appears to be having an issue with something residual from the first installation.

thanks for quick reply, i uninstalled it, cleared everything, restarted it, no patched used and still same prob
i tried it on another pc i have, i system restored the machine to earlier date, installed it and it worked, then tried to use kitserver, same problem
any idea
To be honest, not really. It seems a rather peculiar piece of software. I've had the odd issue with it - sometimes when loading it gets stuck on the black screen - but the things I've read in this thread from other people border on the ridiculous as the game shouldn't be behaving that way.
