Anyone have the graphics for gloves missing? Whenever a player is supposed to be wearing a glove they get a solid black hand instead, keepers work fine strangely enough. I've tried reinstalling the game of course, and it's patched to 1.2

Running the game on Windows Vista x65 SP1
Intel Core2Quad Q6600
Gigabyte P35-DS4
4GB Kingston DDR2 ram
nVidia Geforce 8800GTS512

Really really need some help. Im playing online, or at least attempting to, for the first time on my PC. I have a very strong connection to the internet, and the firewall is fine, its not blocking PES accessing the internet or anything, it passes the network environment test, i then enter the password etc and thats fine.

But just as i log into the network, a window pops up and says "Client version is different, please update to latest version and then reconnect. ". An internet window then pops up saying............................

An update is required.

The Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 installed on this computer is not the most up-to-date version.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To play network matches, the application must be updated.
Access the Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 update page (http://uk.games.konami-europe.com/)
and update the application. (How to update and content details are listed too.)
If you do not wish to update, press the [close] button to close the browser.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have searched far and wide trying to find this update, most have expired, or not the most up to date patch for online play. I just need something to enable me to play the game online. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Assuming you're on Vista, right-click the program and click on "Run as Administrator". I too have administrative privileges on Vista but it forces me to do that which is annoying.

Too Fast Gameplay

I have 512 mb ati hd 4850 graphic card. The gameplay is god damn fast during PES 2008 game. I checked ati catalyst control center out and changed the settings to optimal quality from performance , I turned on vertical synch "always on" both in catalsyt and game settings, also tried ati tray tool but nothing changed.
I downloaded the latest direct x (end user run time) I tried the lates catalayst (8.8) it is still no good.
What is the problem do you think? It is really very irritating. Please help!!!

My pc's specs:
- Gigabyte P35-S3 Mobo,
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2,33 ghz,
- GeCube 512 mb Ati HD 4850,
- Corsair 3*1 GbDDR 2 667 Ram,
- samsung 320 gb sata II, Maxtor 160 GB Sata,
- Recom 600w Power Engine PSU

I don't think your problem will be resolved via CCC (Catalyst Control Center). It sounds more like PES not capping the FPS. Most users reported speed problems when vsync was on and as you haven't mentioned it in your post: have you tried turning vertical sync off?

Yes I did. The game run god damn fast and also tearings are seen then. I noticed last night that game runs normally when I run game just after turning on pc. But after playing for neraly one hour, it begins to run too fast. What do you think???

Sounds like a proverbial leak of some kind. Do you definitely have the latest drivers for your graphics card? I wouldn't expect so much tearing; the card is more than capable of running games much more intensive than PES at relatively high settings.

What resolution and detail settings are you playing at? You could try turning those down completely and seeing if the problem persists. If it goes away, turn options up one at a time until you hit the problem and report back on when it starts happening again.

I play at 1680*1050 resolution, high detail. In pes 2008 settings, wait for vsync is thicked. I have 22" wide screen nec lcd monitor. I have catalyst 8.8.
I am sorry but I could not understand what you refer to by "those" in following sentence:
"You could try turning THOSE down completely and seeing if the problem persists."

In the Settings program in your PES directory, set the graphics detail to low or medium and the resolution down to something lower such as 1024x768, just to see if it solves the problem and gives me more of an idea of what is going wrong.

I have a HD4870 and a 22" LCD like yourself and run at 1680x1050 with high detail without any problems at all.

Ok, I will try. What about if the problem goes on though I set the resolution 800*600 low? And what do you think about that problem occurs after playing game for nearly one hour?

What type of RAM do you use? The problem occurring after a period of time suggests a memory leak but it seems strange for a program to have a memory leak on just a handful of computers as it is usually a coding issue with the game. That aside, it'd be a case of looking into other programs which might be running in the background but I'm trying to stay away from that line of thinking for as long as possible.

If the problem continues when you're at 800x600 and on low detail it would suggest that the problem isn't related to your graphics card. Although you can never rule it out entirely, as I said before your graphics card simply shouldn't encounter any issues with PES 2008.

Thankfully 2009 is out soon and hopefully you'll be buying that. I'll be making a similar thread on the PES2009 section closer to the time as I'm sure people will encounter similar issues though I hope they've coded the game better for PCs and actually tested it a little bit!

What other games do you play on your system?

I use 2*1 gb (dual) corsair xms2 cl5400 ddr2 667. I have already pre-ordered pes 2009. :) What about doing this:
run/msconfig and start up programs, chose close all?

Msconfig is actually where I'd tell you to go if turning the graphics detail and resolution fails to fix the problem - not that we'd leave it there but at least we'd know where it is coming from.

Feel free to provide screenshots of all items in the startup tab of msconfig and I'll let you know which programs you don't need to be running at startup. Don't remove all of them.
