For crying out loud, Its getting kind of annoying coming on the site when any pro evo game/demo/publication is released nowadays, loads of people are always moaning about something and are never happy about what konami have actually done to improve the games. People are always wafflin on bout how good pes 5 and 6 were, and no doubt they were good games for their time, but im sure even if u go back u'd still see some people moaning and whining about the game not being good to be honest i think all these moaners should can it!! Last year although pes09 was not the "greatest" football game ever it was a dramatic improvement upon the shambles to the series that 08 was and im sure we'd all agree on that. I really think konami are slowly finding their feet with the whole next gen console era and comparing pes09 to what I have seen in the 2010 demo I really think that us lot have got ourselves a good...no scratch that, EXCELLENT football game here. I'll be honest and say when I played the Fifa demo I was like "konami have to step their game up" but now playing this demo im a delighted fan. obviously as any good fan I look for perfection so i do have 1 small gripe with the game and thats the slower player response times but I suppose that just takes getting used to and you now have to think of what your going to do seconds ahead like you would in a real match as all the better players do. I hate to hear all these crybabies talking about how rubbish the game is and how their not buying it. IMO if it's not constructive criticism keep it to yourself because were at the stage where despite how negative you can be towards the game its not going to change much before the release date. From first impressions theres better comp AI, Slower more realistic passing game, Improved keepers, comp have improved defensive awareness, great array of player animations and actions dependent on body position, all to keep players more than content till 2011. I really like the game and i'm looking forward to the full release so i can get my ML and BAL on!

Well done konami this is a step in the right direction!!!!

Firstly, punctuate your post correctly with paragraphs because that's absolutely horrible to read and a lot of people won't bother for that reason.

Secondly, all criticism should be allowed and you as a fan should be able to take it. People are free to express criticism, constructive or otherwise so long as there's a real point behind it.

How you can claim the demo has improved goalkeepers is beyond me, truly. There's also a lack of certain freedom they promised - read my earlier post about enforced passing AI and notice how goalkeepers seem unable to play a short pass to all of the defenders, something Konami promised would change long ago.

The shooting mechanics, as I've said before, are fine but forcing me to pass to one player square of me rather than the one slightly behind me but still across the pitch is not acceptable under any circumstances. I should be allowed to play a pass wherever I want to when on the attack.

^And the sometimes weird positioning of the defenders.
But overall, pes 10 grows on you unlike pes 09. The goal variation at least is back and with added animations we'll have more variation for sure.
As for the demo faults. Yes I admit and agree with some of you. But the major one is the response time and it is supposed to be fixed so here's hoping aswell.
As for the fifa 10 demo. I like it. I really do. But again it has some faults which I want fixed like AI positioning of your defence (not like in pes, different), the AI pressure is much less efficient than in fifa 09 and the finesse shot sometimes doesn't work well (I would imagine Henry placing the ball better than let's say Xavi (known for passing) ) or at least it was better in fifa 09. Then there's another where you always concede the same goal (well mostly). The opponent will break through with a pass (weired AI positioning of your defence aswell), then your keeper will rush out and they will lob and score easily.
Both have issues. But I agree that the fifa demo is more complete thus why at times it feels better.
I'll be judging both games when they come out because that'll be fair.

do you guys know if the orange special cards of the players are always active? because i read somewhere that you can turn these cards On/Off! Like Anchor Man, Incisive Run...

My bad, I had no clue that paragraphs were of such great importance to you, I will ensure all my future posts are fully paragraphed.

Im not against the game being criticised because im a fan myself and i know the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement. However I'd prefer to see the criticism from "fans" take a more constructive form rather than destructive.

Im aware this not everyone is doing so, but there are a lot of damming statements posted about the demo already and I, personally just cant see why and how this will be good for the game.

Plus I always think that the people who criticise the game and give all the "im not buying it" lark, will still always buy the game and happily play it until the next installment, in no way against their will. But thats just my opinion.

The keepers are much improved IMO I havent thus far, after playing close to 50 matches seen any of the horrific errors made like there were in 09. In BAL especially in 09 the keepers sometimes were unable to save some of the weakest shots with consummate ease and would opt to parry right to an attackers feet. This has gone from what ive seen. Now they may saves in which they clutch the ball.

Also the horrid hollow keeper has gone from what ive seen, the instances where the ball would still travel straight through a goalkeepers chest, leg, arm etc. when in real life this would clearly be a save has disappeared.

I personally when playing the demo experience pass freedom in attacking and defensive situations so i cant relate to ur issue on that.

The game is as playable as fifa is, and some people forget that this is not necessarily the final build. there was a difference between the 09 demo and actual game. So I would say theres still scope for the game to be tweaked, but i dont think extensive modifications are required.

Im just happy with the game and dont see much wrong with it and i'm as big a critic as anyone when it is deserved. Its guess unfortunate that others cannot see the good in the game and that i can.

It is not that paragraphs are important to me. Read my post again. Few people would be willing to read a whole bunch of text which is unformatted because it isn't easy to read meaning you were wasting your time.

Don't talk about builds because its the constant PES argument and the demo is supposed to be an indicator of the final product. Between the demo and the final game a company are supposed to only change minor issues because the main purpose is balance testing which takes a hell of a long time. Any changes to other aspects take you backwards in the balance testing phase. As I said, some of our bloggers play-tested earlier builds and say this demo has gone backwards because things that were working perfectly in early builds are not working well in the demo and they can't understand what is going on.

I can understand people will like it, there's no issue at all there. Its that certain people fail to accept any of the demo's shortcomings - or those in the game either. Clearly neither game is perfect as I'd much prefer the PES shooting mechanics in FIFA for a start but there are plenty of people who have noticed the problems I mentioned and have provided videos of gameplay on different difficulty levels. It would be nice for them to fix it all but we've been here before and it is a ridiculous strategy to release a poor demo. It can happen but it really shouldn't.

I'm keen for a good PES because I'll likely play BAL on it as I much preferred PES 2009's BAL to FIFA 09's Be A Pro.

To add another bad point, I'm finding it really difficult to score headers from the auto-cross where you press B with no power guage. And by that I mean that it doesn't really find a player, and it's frustrating to watch a good potential chance go to waste.

Every time I've tried a manual cross from far away it's found a player a good portion of the time, and a good portion of the time when it finds a player it ends up in the back of the net.

i think the demo doesnt have enough teams or stadiums and no master league mode that would have been better also i played fifa 2010 and it reminded me of fifa 2009 but pes 2010 doesnt remind me of 2009 thats a good point in my eye (i lost my other eye cos a cat scratched it out)

A players behaviour based on cards rather than arrows sounded great although - now that I've finally seen it in practice in the demo with 'lesser players' such as Germany's "Beck" - I think this will take alot of the tactical element out of this game. Let me use the example of playing against Chelsea - who's width comes from fullbacks - using the inferior Everton....

Like Moyes has tried, I also want to create 2-on-1s out wide to get penetration (e.g. my LMF + LB Verses their RB). This will work no doubt down my left with my left SMF and LB because Baines (LB) will probably be given the "overlap" and "attack minded" cards, but just because going forward isn't Hibbert's (RB) forte - so he won't get any of these cards - I can't employ the same tactics on the right?

I don't want 'on rail' tactics, if I want Hibbert to push forward then I should be able to do that, I don't care if that's not his forte because 2-on-1 wins situations most times.

Basically I think everyone should have cards such as "attack minded" and "defence minded" by default to replace the basic premise of the old arrows, then all the other cards should work the way Konami have envisaged it. Even if - with this card system - they made it so Hibbert didn't always come forward like I was asking him to (because his willingness was still based on the old "attack" stat) then that would be realistic because he doesn't have the know-how to know when to attack in real life either, and getting into a players mindset was what I thought was the point of these cards.

Sorry for the novel I've just written, I hope it makes sense, it will just kill me if none of my mates will want to play PES anymore because they think it's fallen further behind.

i just kinda realisd the cards are pointless, lookin through a few, why would i wanna turn alonsos good long passing off....? or messi's mazy run?

Isnt the whole point of a DEMO is to give people an idea of the final product? So in reality no matter what the build % is , this is going to be near the final game.

Like all PES games I ever played, the more you play it, the more it grow's on you...However i found myself turning off PES to go back and play FIFA demo yday which I havent done EVER!

If Konami released this game so people might not buy FIFA and wait for PES, I dont think it has worked. Maybe they rushed out this Demo when FIFA demo came out??

As mentioned above all these people saying PES 6 or PES 5 were amazing games...I remember reading forums back then and ''fans'' slating those games for the first few months.

Really I dont think people will make thier final judgements on this game until a few weeks after the full release, but personally speaking, I would of prefered Konami to not bring out a demo at all if they felt it wasnt right.. This demo dont feel right at all, the respsonse delays were clearly known about by Konami but yet they released it anyway...

Fifa is a great game nowadays but I feel it still missing that something that the PES series had back on ps2.. Maybe I am judging FIFA based on the good PES series. Last year's Pes 2009 didnt last long for me, I was bored of it in a few months...

Most of the people who are like "Im absolutely loving it" were too young to have played the majority of the early versions and its throwing Konami off. Konami think they have a gem of a game whereas thats far from true and they're being blindsighted

Hit the nail on the head.
I have been playing ISS since ps1 days and these last few years have been a let down considering the amount of new software available to Konami

Played a couple of hours of the PES2010 demo on PS3 and overall i like it. Ive played it in 1P vs CPU, 1P vs 2P and 1P & 2P co-op. Yes it has its fair share of faults and hopefully some will be fixed for the final release but overall i still see it as a definite improvement on PES2009.

The 360 movement can almost be hidden altogether when playing a fast paced game, but when you slow things down i've found it becomes alot more apparent. Movements can be alot more subtle when not trying to use the analogue with a PES2009 mindset imho.

There is enough pages here for me to know that most stuff has been covered one way or another so i wont point out every good and bad thing about the game here. I'll just say my 2 worst pet hates so far and then give my overall opinion.

The 2 things that have annoyed me the most in the PES2010 demo are these.
1) What feels like a very inconsistant reaction time at times between button to player in various situations.
2) The ball seems to be very heavy at times, for no good reason...like it has a house brick for a bladder or something. Most apparent in random short passes and shots imo. Its something i have noticed quite a few times already tbh.

No game is ever perfect and everyone can usually find something that rubs them up the wrong way. In many cases there are a couple of things that rubs eveyone up the wrong way, and the demo for PES2010...and Fifa10 for that matter, are no different imo. I think every hater (im a hater of neither but prefer PES tbh) of either game needs to bear in mind that both games have alot more to offer than a quick fire exhibition mode so i think it'll be the same old story. Any leftover bugs in either game will be got used to eventually as fans of both games gradually get lost in their own little Master League/BAL/Live Season/Be A Pro etc worlds. Both demo's have shown obvious improvements imho and i'll simply just say that i hope the main problems/bugs are ironed out for the release date for both because id personally be pretty happy with PES2010 then. hell, im still playing PES2009 and thats certainly not the perfect game is it LOL :D

My only real issue with this demo, and it's one that really pisses me off more than anything in the world... is i dont bloody well have it.

it may not be perfect, and not a 100% version of what the full game will play like but i soooo badly want a go of it.

I wouldnt put any bets down on good commentary tbh. Its still the same 2 guys doing it unfortunately. Lawrenson does the main damage though imho.

Jesus wept. That sig needs cutting down Suv. Reducing the font size would be a good place to start.

Tbh jesus had more important things to weep about didnt he:)
Im sure i tried reducing the font size actually but nothing happened. I'll try again as id prefer it smaller myself. Is there a special method or something?
