After the playing the demo on my PS3, I then switched back to PES 09, and PES 09 felt so much more responsive and player movements were quick, unlike PES 10 where the players feel like they are being held down by weights and the passing and shooting in PES 10 seems very very slow !!

Konami....I really hope that you fix the responsiveness of passing, shooting and dribbling !

Hey Shaun :) That is great news, im sorry I have read so many threads both on here and on PESfan, but I didn't read it as an official thing that Konami has fixed, but if you have confirmed that it is fixed, then that is great news !!

^Well, WENB confirmed it and they were the ones that complained about it when they played the gamescom build. So obviously it has improved which is a good thing. I was starting to worry. ;)

Thanks Shaun, you have made me feel better thats for sure :)
Any chance you can show me a link to where WENB states that they found it slow ??

^It was an old thread after gamescom.
ASK WENB ABOUT GAMESCOM BUILD or something like that.
But now I believe it was deleted because there were newer ones with every code they got.
http://kitanamedia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1373&start=0
But this is the one where they say that response times have been improved. It's the newest code of pes around 90% unlike the demo we have.

Thanks Shaun7! That's good news!
I believe if they improve the response time, then the game will be much better.

The PK system has changed, its FIFA-ish now, you can move the GK, and the shooting power matters.

Shoot+Pass is a no go.

I dont like the crowd( THE WAY IT LOOKS) , its not inmersive at all.

I miss the HEXAGON on player stats.

Did someone notice how limited the possible (default) formations are now? I think this is a step back.

Dont understand the CARDS system

Lightning system impressive

Good music

Played a couple of games yesterday on Xbox360.

I tend to use the RT button (Right Trigger) a lot (on Xbox that's the button for slow dribbeling) and when dribbeling with that button held down, the 360-dribble becomes very noticeable!

I also found out that if I hold down the RT-button while playing defence IT ACTUALLY WORKS AS A JOCKEY-BUTTON!!!! YES! I like that a lot!
:thewave:

The same RT is also used as a placed-shot button. The only downside is (IMO) that you can't hold it before the shot for it to work - but have to press it at the exact moment you release the shot-button. That makes it a bit unstable unfortunately.

The biggest gribe I have right now is, that I think the gameplay feels somewhat clonky!! (Yes Shaun7 - I've read your post earlier, so I'm haveing hopes still...;)) Anyways - the demo doesn't feel as fluid as I expected.

After 15 min. or so I finally figured out the Cards System!
The cards are split into different groups - and only groups 1 and 2 are cards you can turn on and off as I remember. (Dani Alves is the best examble where you can try and switch his card(s) on/off). The other card groups are abilities for that player and hence not cards you can touch. Also the very first card at every player is that player offensive setting (eg. defensive, balanced or attacking minded) just a bit like the defensive/offensive arrows in the formation editing in earlier PES games... Speaking of those arrows I can't find them in this demo and really miss them - so I can tell Xavi or Iniesta to go forward etc.

But overall I think the game is good. As with the FIFA demo I wasn't blown away. Maybe it just take some games to get into the feeling. I don't know if I think it feels more like a simulation this time around. I haven't really worked with different tactics yet - as I usually would do to get the best out of everything - so I only play with the default settings. Maybe if - when you start to dig a little deeper - the game becomes more simulation'ish.

But as for PES vs. FIFA demo - I believe it's purely down to tastes this year. They are equally good and one doesn't outshine the other IMHO.

But it won't get top-marks from me. A 7/8 out of 10 maybe...

If the response times aren't much better that is it for PES2010.

I know WENB and PESFAN confirmed that its better in their new code but I'd like to see it myself.

The demo certainly wont win over any new comers, that's for sure.

Overall though, I can see where KONAMI is going with this. The '360' movement is a nice addition but not necessarily revolutionary: More like a little EVOLUTION, which is fine by me.

The pace is excellent. Animations are good for the most part. Menus are slick and the 'no' loading is not bad either.

FIX response and we have a very good PES on our hands although I am not sure if it will be better then PES 5/6....

Played the demo. Much better than pes 09 but there were some things which I don't like.
Sometimes the defence leaves out open spaces which clearly aren't that good. Maybe because of the difficulty which was regular? Anyway, I want it improved.
Response is an issue but not a major one. But I am happy that it is fixed now.
Through balls take time to work. Maybe I need to learn how to pass the ball through the defence.

As for the good points.
Menus
GRAPHICS
Overall pace is spot on
Defensive play and balance between attack and defence is much better than pes 09, though there's still some work left.
Ofcourse the coaching tactics are awesome
Shooting is great
INDIVIDUALITY is awesome in this game.

Personally, if they fix the sometimes unwanted spaces in the defence, it'll be the best pes ever. I'll try professional and then comment back.

with better responsiveness it will be a great game

I can see new animations, but not a great chunk (300) like promised,

But the people who complained on other sites are saying it is robotic and quite unresponsive

Only played two games so far, but I fully agree that the response times on the demo version are very bad.

The look and feel of the game is impressive (incl. the menu), but the response times would ruin the whole game for me..

Some tricks like the faint have become useless, which is not a horrible thing as it makes me try other things instead of a change.. On the other hand: why put in a trick if it doesn't work at all? The response times are so slow that I see my player perform the trick about 1 second after I actually want to execute it.. Not good at all..

I noticed that shooting is nice, but one touch passing is not working that nicely.. Maybe it's me, but I tried to pass the ball around quickly with Barça and couldn't help noticing that some players need a fortnight to just play the ball back to the same player.. Disturbing..

Based on just two games, which is perhaps way to few to give a solid opinion, I would give the following scores:

- Look and feel: 8/9
- Gameplay: 5

Oh, and btw.: the goalkeepers are still horrendous. Pushing the ball back in the feet of the strikers of the opponent, letting the ball slip underneath their bodies in a very clumsy manner.. In real life, Goalkeepers make mistakes, but not always the same mistakes and not every match..

Btw.: shouldn't we somehow move this entire thread over to the Official Konami PES Feedback Zone? I would like to make sure that they see the feedback on this game, if they care..

You realize as you go up difficulties that both attack and defense are better.

I love pes because of the screamers you can score; gerrard 40 yarder on the volley, yes please!!

I'll be buying both Fifa and this, just as long as PES gets the online right.

It'll be fifa for singleplayer, but this for online.

Yes ofcourse. But defending and wing open spaces are different. Spaces I was talking about are when they leave you to run from the wing especially. But then as soon as you approach the box, they start to defend. That is good. But the spaces aren't that good.
I hope they get better on professional.
