Hi All
Has the gameplay improved since DLC 4.0?
I had a real problem with heading when defending and attacking.
(I know the "sticking" issue had been semi-resolved in DLC 2.0)
You may say "Play it yourself"... but I really don't want to in case the issue hasn't been resolved. That will just piss me off.
Gameplay is changing with every new edition of PES however not in the right way.
Yes, there are more animations and yes link up is better along with pathing. However with each addition the AI scripting control is increasing so basically the game play is going backwards (this is dependent on difficulty setting btw .. Easy = less AI interference and Hard = more AI interference, same with online where Online basically = super AI scripting like a switch on and off but for the most part your team will play like it's stuck in mud, no response, no support, silly deflections, super fast opposition defenders etc etc --> AI scripting).
I feel that the game is extremely inconsistent. One minute things work, the next they don't so although it seems like you have more control you actually have less and this is really killing the gameplay for me. So when I'm taking it around players and I guess right and/or am smart enough to outplay/wrong foot my opponent it should work yet in PES 2019 that simply isn't the case. Sometimes it will work but other times the computer will just use what I call the 'magic toe' and just take the ball no matter what speed you were going, no matter what direction you were facing it just backs into position and takes the ball, like auto-positioning --> inertia means nothing, kills the gameplay and realism which ultimately undermines an otherwise beautiful looking game.
It's really sad because Konami are clearly putting time and energy into trying to develop this method of gameplay but with each new addition they are more sneaky with it trying to make it more subtle but when you play for any length of time you'll quickly realize it's not subtle at all, and patterns quickly emerge.
I also notice my own player movements and cursor switching to always seem delayed until AI is allowed to get to the ball first but always just in time, so when a play is made from AI and I try to read a few things usually happen, my cursor is delayed which trying to switch to nearest player just enough for me to play catch up OR my player will very slightly run the other way THEN run the right way. This lack of control has always been a familiar sight in PES titles but it's getting ridiculous.
It basically means you don't decide a thing. That it's really the AI that is dictating the outcomes of play or momentarily denying or allowing you to play. Then when the ball gets to near my box my men always seem to become responsive and begin to win headers etc again. The patterns are too obvious.
But you have to ask, why are they there in the first place?
The game could be amazing without this stuff. Let our mistakes be our own.
