As if you (or anybody else) actually owes Konami a favour by sticking up for their game.
It's that Seabass and his team that owe you the favour for being so loyal and buying his game for x number of years.
So the least they could repay people is by putting some effort and extra content into the game, instead of taking the piss, imo ..

A lot of what you say has truth in it. There are flaws with this game, as there were with previous ones. As there are with every game. I'm sure the programmers are doing their best to make the computer play like a human. But this must be difficult as no one has managed it yet.

PES6 is the best alround package available for football sim lovers. Thats why I keep buying the PES games. I dont have brand loyalty. If FIFA was the best sim, I would drop PES in a blink of an eye.

Well I couldnt disagree more. This is the best PES (PS2) by a long way. The game is much more fluent than other versions and much less regimented and machine like. Its harder I agree, but thats only because its different. But for me, I love it

I agree, best since PES3 - defending is tricky but not finding it overly difficult, you can't go flying in a win the ball but defending as a team reaps its rewards, I play quite an attacking 3-4-3 usually but have wingers funnel back and I don't concede many - less than a goal a game.

Not quite mate, there was recently an interview by Seabass posted on another forum, where he as good as admitted that the game is riddled with cheats.
To try to even the balance of posession of the match aparently, which is BS because its always more like, 70-30 in favour of the COM.

Which tbh is a shame, because i honestly do feel the frustration of the COM's constant cheating, really does ruin the game.
Rather than getting the balance round abouts even, it does seem to take the piss a bit too much, in my eyes.

Can't really comment too much about PES6, due to the "only" brief experience of playing it that i've had.
PES5 brings me to the point where i just have to switch it off, due to how ridiculous the level of cheating gets at times ...

SHAFT 85 should stop being a bitch. Yes the game has floors in it, but its still the best footy sim on the market by far! The only cheating iv noticed on the game is by ppl playing boring cut backs online. Im in my third season: 1st season i won the 2nd division title and cup, 2nd season finished 3rd and won the cup and im top of the table half way thru my third season. Im not a great pro-evo player, id say average at best but u don't see me moaning that the computer cheats. U should go and play FIFA mate.

After I've started my second season in the ML, I've found that I'm struggling just to score one goal per match, and suddenly I've found myself score more than 5 goals per match in professional difficulty. Not only scoring I also found it suddenly easy to dominate and to reach your opponent goal and the defending has become very easy. What is happening?

The computer does cheat and it's obvious, so STFU you clown.
A lot of people already reckon that Fifa07 is the better game on 360., So Fifa 08 will probably be a better all round game than PES7. If not, Fifa09 will be ..lol

At least EA have actually put some work & effort into Fifa07.
Konami have taken or left more good things out of PES6 than whats been put in, which is solely down to lack of commitment & laziness.
Due to Konami knowing that "Fanboy" Mugs like you, will go out and buy it regardless.

Besides, theres a thread with over 55 pages of other pesfans complaining, on one of the other popular PES forums, and most of them are long term players not PES noobs, like me who's only been playing since Pro4.
The main reason for me playing Pro is due to being tired of EA taking the piss each year, and a lot other people feel that konami have started to get the same kind of complacency.

Lets face it, now EA have decided to wake up, that clique about PES being "All about the gameplay" is starting to wear a little thin, now that Fifa's gameplay is getting a lot closer to Pro's (regardless if you'll admitt it or not)

All i'm saying is it's about time Konami made some proper improvements to the whole content of the game.
Either way i honestly think that next year is going to be the make or break year for the PES Franchise, depending on how seriously this new team at EA have decided to take the game, now.

Atm, i really prefer playing Pro, and have no intention of buying Fifa07 this year, but was really looking forward to PES6, but i just seem to be reading and hearing more Negatives about the game, to warrant buying it atm ...

You are entitled to your opinion mate but i honnestly do think this the best pro evo to date. the games eb and flow from end to end. you can build up with passes at slow tempo or attack with lightning pace down the flanks. also you can score sum fucking quality volleys and bar n ins from a long way out. its the most accurate simulation of a footy match on the market. I do dislike fifa but i also used to play fifa until i played pro evolution soccer on the ps1 since then ive had pro evo 1 - 6 on the ps2. The more u play the game the more you love it. Konami have let fans down in some areas but the online improvements are wicked and the game play is pure class and thats what counts!

Which is why it wins many 50-50s. Also you just cant get your players to do what you want sometimes and it forgets button presses you have done.

Without the computer having these issues where you feel so frustrated you want to pull your hair out. The computer would not put up a good enough game. I would win every game and score bucket loads. So until they can program the computer to play well enough to put up a challenge, fairly, then we will just have to put up with it.

Maybe they are waiting for the power of the PS3 to offer them the tools to do this.

Easily, by improving & re-programming the COM AI, instead of being lazy.
But i will gave you credit mate, for at least admitting that the game cheats.

It's not so much about the 50-50's or even the fact that the COM makes up it's own rules at times (like tackling from behind, polaxing or actually tackling through your players body).
Although it's not exactly fair or Realistic.
It's more of when the computer takes control over your own players and moves them out of position, takes away their attributes (such as speed & shot accuracy) or creates errors from your players and doesn't respond to your button commands, than pisses off the most.

Maybe you're right hawkeye and it is down to the limits of the current Gen consoles, either way we will find out over the next few years i suppose.

It's supposed to be realistic. Generally, teams do score goals in matches and not every team can defend like Italy.

Defending Issue.

This may have been mentioned elsewhere, so apologies if it has.

I bought PES6 when it came out and have since being playing it on a regular basis. I actually think it is very good, although not a massive improvement over PES5. Playing against the CPU in various tournaments and at master level I became quite good, particularly at defending stangeley enough, and rareley concede goals. Example, I played a league on the highest level with all top clubs from europe, I was Arsenal. Record P38 W29 D7 L2 F128 A26 - pretty impressive (or so I thought!)

On Monday I finally managed to get online to play, thinking that with my efforts against the CPU I should be OK. No chance, I seem to be able to create plenty of chances and score a few goals, but can I defend, can I hell! My defence is all over the place no matter what fomation I use and I cant make a decent tackle to save my life. If my opponent is Brazil or Barca then Ronaldinho runs amock every time, cant get near him.

The reason for my post is that I find it very strange that the strongest point of my game offline is defending, yet online I'm useless. Just wondered what everyone's thoughts on this were and if there are any tips when playing online.

Its not that I concede a lot. I've always got easily the best defensive record in the master league. (top player) But I still get annoyed at the lack of control. Still, I wouldnt waste the short amount of gaming time I get these days, to play anything else.

Where you can predict the computer to some extent after a while of playing them. Every human controlled player plays differently. Get more experience playing humans and your defending will improve. But dont expect it to ever be as easy as defending against the computer.

How come I've not experienced any of the issues with Computer AI after 4 seasons, I regularly control games with an advantage in posession and sometimes get beaten 3-0 by, say, Chelsea... in fact, this game is too fucking good and has me more addicted than any previous Pro Evo going back to the first ISS Pro - it's so much more realistic. If you don't like it, play FIFA instead... do people think it's scripted because the AI can beat them or what? It's just utter bullshit
