pes2010 is too SLOW...the pace is way too SLOW

I tried the demo and I think the pace of the game is WAY too slow. (pes2009 is already a bit slow, but pes2010 is even slower)
The actions and movements of the players are like freezed and delayed. The response of the players are also delayed, when I try to switch direction or pass, it's delayed like for 2 seconds and it's simply not following my commands IMMEDIATELY. When I pass or shoot, the ball just moves extremely SLOW. Even if I shoot with Gerrard with full condition, I am still seeing the ball moving slowly. Also, the players are just running too slow, like they are just jogging for leisure.

We all enjoy fast-flowing football with lots of actions (something like PES2007 or PES6 is perfect; I want to see the ball flying like a rocket when I shoot with Gerrard or R. Carlos just like in real life, and I want to feel the SPEED of Ronaldo or Henry). Please speed up the pace of the game to make it more realistic. Come on, it's a 10 min game, not 90 min, so it makes sense even to make the pace faster.

Also, another serious problem about pes2010. When I make a through pass to my teamate, the teamate that is supposed to be receiving the ball just STANDS there. This is just absolutely ridiculous. When is it ever going to happen like that in real life? The player receiving the ball should be running towards the ball automatically, not standing like a statue.

Hopefully, KONAMI will fix those serious problems before the actual game is out. It will be very much appreciated! Otherwise, I'm very disappointed with pes2010...

Too slow??? Pes2008/2009 was too fast paced and arcadey, in general they were the worst games from the series.
You should go and play Fifa's new "ping pong" football game if you’re looking for a faster paced game where you can out run and dribble past the whole team with Ronaldo or Messi or where you can score flying rockets with Gerrard or R.Carlos from the halfway line.

Pes 2010 speed is perfect for me, it makes you play real football where you try to break down the teams defence thru build up play and not try to out run and run circles around them with the fastest players and have 1on1s with keepers all the time in which Fifa has perfected in.

thru balls has to be fixed immediately !!!

I totally agree with u !!

very slow response ,delayed , too bad pes 2010 !!!

thru balls bug is Konami's very famous bug in all winning eleven & PES Series over history !!

simply the team mate supposed to receive the thru ball ,is either deadly fixed in the ground !!! or moving in parallel to the ball !!!

we need the player to be free to move in any direction !!!

The player's movement is too slow and robotic...when you press the "pass" button you have to wait for 2 seconds to see it happening...this is ridiculous...

Konami should stick with what made the game so fun in the previous series (using PES6/PES2007 as a prototype)

You should go and play Fifa's new "ping pong" football game if you’re looking for a faster paced game where you can out run and dribble past the whole team with Ronaldo or Messi
It just happens all the time in real life, players like Ronaldo and Messi run fast...they are just "fast"...it's the reality...and you'll see them running past 3-4 defenders all the time...see youtube if you don't believe me. They have speed 90+ in the game, and it is ridiculous to see someone with speed in the 60s catching up from behind. Speed is very important in football, and it is reasonble to see some speed differences in players just like in real life. But that does not mean you can run past the whole team with one player.

If it has happened to you that your opponent can dribble past your whole team with ONE player, then it just means that you have to improve your defensive abilities or change your tactics. It has never happened to me.

But the main thing I'm complaining is that the actions and movements of the players are like freezed and delayed.

I ain't so sure. :erm: I think that gameplay in PES 2010 is major improvement. Especially because game's much slower now.

Yes, there are sometimes few very small issues with defenders and goalkeepers, but I think that this issue is so small so It can be fixed even in a patch after game is released. :)

All in all, I'm perfectly satisfied, because we'll finally get game with lot improvements. All previous series had some serious issues.
PES 2008 had new very good graphics engine, but disasterous gameplay and Master league.
PES 2009, minor improvements to gameplay and none, again, to Master League.
PES 2010 major graphics and gameplay improvement, and if we get lot improvements in Master League that KONAMI promised us, this game will be worth 10/10 mark.

One of if not the worst pro evo game so far for me. Konami's plummeting fall from grace has been staggering.

~Players should move slower when RB is not pressed. It's just too easy to run into defenders. I'm all for passing and I don't make any unnecessary dribble. But if even Xavi would make a touch (without RB pressed) 3 meters away and right into the opposition defender, that's ridiculous...

~Please, more pace on through balls. The pace of the through ball seems proportional to the level of suppression the passer is in. That's not realistic. If Xavi is not under pressure, he is supposed to be able to put a decent ball through, not a feeble one that defenders need to even come FORWARD to pick up.

~The passing is unresponsive and innacurate, often missing players altogether or falling short entirely. 1-2's seem almost impossible to do in this version, as not only do the players forget to run half the time, the first pass is usually so slow as to ruin the move entirely.

The shooting is godawful. First time shots are a rarity as often even if you setup a player inside the box they'll neglect to shoot no matter how early you press the button until they've had a touch. Shooting whilst running is off aswell, the shot bar rises too quickly and it's difficult to control the shots with even the best of players.

Dribbling... Gah. They've removed the shot fake and replaced it with some sort of half crouch half let the ball travel 2 yards away from you sort of thing. No idea why. Running is weird, and the 360 degree movement seems flawed, I've often ran it out because although I move the stick all the way to the right or left, the player needs to arbitrarily follow through the angle rather than just go where I've told him, and so he sprints the ball out.

I just despair at how dissapointed I am with this demo. I want to like it, I really do! But I just find it awful to play.

Hopefully it will get better in the full version.

hm the stumped player bug is an issue.. it also happens in defence say the opposition has the ball, cpu moves towards him, you tap L1 to change player suddenly you change player and the player stops or freezes for a second, losing momentum and usually getting himself cut out of the play entirely giving attacker a chance to run right past him:/ this can be... infruriating.

its that arkwardness of changing player that needs to be removed, they need to smooth out the transition, especially when you select to change player...

speed is a big thing in PES but not as big as it used to be...this is because the players have been more equalised... so slower players are now a more similar pace to faster players where there used to be a larger gap...this negates the advantage of faster players to a degree and stops you from picking up the ball on the halfway line with an unstoppable player (ronaldo, adriano, messi, for example) and just running through the opponents entire team...but surely this could have been dealt with a different way, i.e defenders who can tackle good positioining, players that do not freeze when you select them.

also what about the 'bug' where u slide tackle with a selected player towards the ball and the CPU changes your player just as you are committing the slide, so infact the player you wanted to slide does not and instead a further defensive player slides harmlessly away from the ball - again giving the attacker the ability to run into the space the cpu just created for him by changing player at a terrible moment in time?!

That's nor realistic at all... CR9 or Messi can dribble and run through a couple of defenders, but that's only a few times in each game, it's not usual.

And it's also worth considering that, you can run throught the flanks, like Luis Figo used to do when he played for Barcelona... but it's a whole different ball game to run and dribble past everyone through the middle of the pitch -and- then end up one on one against the keeper.

YouTube does NOT reflects the reality of each player/individual, it just shows the best plays.

And by the way, PES09 was too slow??? Really? You must be playing a different game.

I get what your saying, you want PES6 with next gen graphics, you want a PES game that plays like the PS2 games, something like FIFA09. You want a more responsive game, and probably a faster game.

PES and FIFA really need realistic midfield-battles, as both games, at least judging by PES09 and FIFA09; are arcade games, with an addictive hook but little to no substance at its core.

Improved animations, new animations and licenses, faster or slower gameplay, new game modes, etc, etc. will not change that aspect of the game. And therefore, it's still the same old game at its core.

What do you want after PES6 and FIFA09 ?

I am hoping the through ball has improved for the full game.
I have only played the demo a couple of times but it seemed to be better than 2009. In 2009 it was rubbish. The flighted through ball was tricky to pull off most of the time.

After playing both demos once i thought FIFA 10 felt more fluid.I bought FIFA 10 for £25 from Tesco on Saturday and played it most of the afternoon. On Sunday morning i played one more game of PES 10 and really it isnt much slower if at all than FIFA,but a little more "sticky".The players dont battle each other, more sometimes of a Com generated freeze as you get too close on occasion.I know we cant compare a demo to a game as its defo unfair so let me just say as a finished product some things about the PES demo are still better than the FIFA game.Realistic crossing for instance, the FIFA ball bends like shit round a U bend and the height is very hard too judge.I also liked but hated the way the opposition held the ball in the corner when i was loosing on the PES demo.
Really we'll have to wait for the real release of PES to judge the speed properly, but i dont think its that bad compared too its rival

i have exactly the same opinion. pes and fifa now both have same game speed, though you can change it in fifa.

I disagree whole-heartidly. The PES 2010 demo is not too slow. I would be very disappointed to see the game speed increased. It plays at a slower, more realistic pace. And that is a positive change from PES 2009.

PES 2009 played too fast. It had an arcade feel about it which often killed the realism. The slower pace will see tactics and passing make a return, as opposed to many simply sprinting at every opportunity. The dribble annimations and movement were far too quick, and not realistic at all. Messi, Torres, Eto'o, etc, could change direction at impossible speeds, at imposible angles, without losing pace, and without losing control of the ball. It really did destroy the realism, and as a result, the enjoyment.

Absolutely not too slow! Could be eaven slower. I mean there could be much more variety in pace for players and for teams for that matter. Make the slow dribble button analog so that the more you press the more the player slows down.

I totally disagree

It's not too slow at all in fact it needs slowing down quite a bit more please konami listen too people saying the same as me!!!

Well it is only a demo guys (from an early build, which has been said millions of times) Even though i don't think that game speed will be changed that much in the full game, i will wait after playing a couple of matches to judge.

The players movements and reactions are just way TOO SLOW and unrealistic in PES2010. The actions and movements of the players are like freezed and delayed.
Now most of the time of the short 10 min game is spent looking at those slow movements and unrealistic pace of football. When I play with CPU, in the entire second half, both teams cannot even take a single shot, looking at the stats, it's 0 shots and 0 shots on target. It is very hard to get over 10 shots in a single game. Too much passing and too little shooting is possible. Remember this is a 10 min game, not 90 min. WE ALL LOVE FAST-PACED & FLUID FOOTBALL in this short 10 min game. We just want to see more attacks, more actions, and more amazing goals.

i would say the game speed is fine but the reactions of players are too slow. it's very hard to get a shot off because of the delay between hitting the button and having them get in the physical position of swinging their leg and shooting.

I am not a fan of the tackling. Its seems really hard to slide tackle.
Played a few games so far. Decent games seem just about possible.
Is there an option to auto select a team with no or little blue/purple arrows? like in 09. Did they change anything on the commentary??

Indeed. That seconds button delay is making me insane sometimes..
