Problems being a Client, reasons unknown.

For some reason i have problems becoming a client online.
Yes i am behind a router.
i have UDP port (the correct one) forwarded to my computer and all that.
I host games perfectly fine
But for some reason i cannot get games to work when i am the client.
I have 1mb broadband.

I enter the IP address of the opponent.
it asks me if I want to challenge them. I know they recieve the challange.
It tells me "waiting" (and eventually unable to connect) and leaves them hanging.

Anyone else had any similar problems and know any feasible solutions?

This has already been asked in a previous thread. I posted a solution that someone tried, although I don't understand it fully.

if you have 2 pcs that you want to play online, you'd best give them seperate ports.
in the PES settings you can change the port PES uses

I have the same exact problem. I have the default PES4 port 5739 forwarded to the PC that the game is on by UDP and TCP. I can host games but can not connect to others. My challenge gets received on the other side but i see "waiting", it says loading on the other side but i never get to that point and get "unable to connect" and the other person soon gets the same message. Seems like I can get to the other IP and send my challenge, but on the way back something is being blocked by my router.

Strange thing is, how come it's not blocked on the same port when someone challenges me when I am hosting. My friend has a very very similar setup on his router with mine, and he can connect to the games I host, and I can not connect to his.

I tried couple things like disabling the firewall and disabling the WAN IP block, none of them worked. Then I tried DMZ, forwarding everything to single IP, the PC. That worked which is not the ideal way to play. For now I'm playing that way but, I don't understand how it wouldn't work on me but it would work on my friend's when we both have similar setups. My guess is that us that have this problem, has a funky problem with their routers.

YO the problems you are experiencing is not becuase you are behind a router or even your internet connection. I had the same problems as you guys on my PC's. Make sure you download the updated patches from konami and the update pes launcher. My guess is that you have probably done this. The next thing you need is the patch to play the game without the disc, available from download sites. This patch contains numerous fixes which have helped solve my client and hosting problems.

I got mine working, found out my modem has a built in firewall, so i had to forward correct ports for that to my modems ip address(was difficult to find out), then forward the same ports in my router to my comps ip address, although this didn't work fully, i had to enable the DMZ (forwards all ports in modem) for it to work properly. Was a bit tricky, so i suggest you check to see if your modem has a built in firewall.

I don't think it was the firewall I disabled it mine and still couldn't client but with it enabled and DMZ set on my pc I can client so it has to be something related to dmz...
