[PS4] Adding back "hidden"/removed players

So to keep it simple:
I have a bugged version 1.08.01 & 8.00 DP. All I need is find an EDIT file from someone/somewhere, that is 1.08.01 & 8.00 version but not bugged and paste it in my PES2020 inventory, or delete my edit file and paste the clear edit then, correct?
And last question, since I do not plan to apply any LIVE Update that is the cause of the bug, what's the purpose of switched-off internet?
I mean the LIVE UPDATE is a process that must be done manually by the user. If me (the user) doesn't Apply the LU, what's the danger of the ON internet connection?

You can't use the EDIT file from somone else. You would need to create from your own account. I don't know in your country if you have any Video Game stores where you can buy used game and return within a 1 week if you do not like. Or you need to find someone with a copy to borrow to get the EDIT file.

If you have 2 PS4's alot easier to do the process. If you have 1 PS4, you have 2 ways.

First method is delete your digital version game and the System and EDIT files........Turn off internet to the PS4, load up Disc version. Create EDIT file. Copy System and EDIT files to USB. Delete disc version of game. Re-install Digital version. Re-import the System and EDIT files.

Second method is use a different PS4 or login into your account on a friends PS4. Turn off internet to that PS4, load up Disc version. Create EDIT file. Copy the System and EDIT file to USB and then install on your PS4 --- that is the method I used as I signed into one of my son's PS4 since I didn't want to go through the hassle of re-installing the Digital version.

I did do the Live Update after I fired up the game after installing the new System and EDIT file and DID NOT CAUSE THE LIVE UPDATE FLAG BUG.

Why turn off internet? I think because of all the Data Packs that installs in the game update (I think Data Pack 8.00 & Patch 1.08.01 is root cause) is where the bug is introduced to installs. When you turn off the internet and install the game and grab the EDIT file, bascially you have Day One Edit Data.

I think the issue was created in the last Data Pack 8.00 & Patch 1.08.01 that was to solve the ML and BAL issue. Reason I think that is the point is because I installed the Hong Kong game on 06 Jun 2020 and only created the EDIT file and Live Updated. Data Pack 7 was released on 04 June 2020 and I didn't have the issue with Live Updated Flag bug on it as Data Pack 7 was released 2 days earlier .

while checking my files through data management, I noticed I have a backup Edit from 26/6/2020. What if I delete only my EDIT file, open game and let it use the backup of back then, before the bug? Can it work, or the infected SystemSettings will still cause the bug. If it works I just loose 2 months of work. If it doesn't I still loose everything + 2 months of work..

I deleted my EDIT and opened the game, used my backup edit from 26/6 and it worked. At least by now. The players are again revertable/editable, I did some checks and some quick fixes, everything seems OK by now. ANSU FATI here, removed free agents here, players from DP 8.0 have their faces.

@75antoniog and anyone else, if you want some removed free agents, make a list and I can help when I find the time. I will move them to Melbourne Victory and export them like I did with Ansu Fati.

PS: Something about the forum, the last days when i try to mention someone with @ it does not autocomplete/suggest names, I must remember the exact name of the user/member exactly, like it worked in the old forum engine, pre xenoforo engine. All this in Google Chrome mobile Version.

Just for the record, if anyone is interested to apply the latest live update, it adds around 549 players according to pesmaster, minus many players that are from PES mobile J league J1+J2.

But the most noticeable players you miss if you don't apply LU, is type of C. RICHARDS from Bayern etc..

Then there are players that preexisted in previous live updates and you already have them if you have older database, like Okwonkwo I think and there are players like Aaron Niguez, who existed already through previous LU and from Johor FC in AFC, so you can still move him to Malaga, or his future team if he signs for one. So he exists two times and by Live Update he becomes triplicate from duplicate.

Where I want to conclude? You all already know that the application of latest live update causes the bug.

I noticed after research and trials that players that are edited anyhow in game, are not affected by the live update bug, they still are solid and revertable to default.

The edit can be from just placing a simple * near his name, I use it to mark fake players for future edit usually, even to most complex like create a total new player, change stats, body type etc.

To be accurate from my experience, players that I had basecopy or edited their names, were not affected by the bug, official and fake. I did also a test to a fresh install.
Installed game and apllied data pack.
Game is unbugged.
I edited B. Leno the GK of Arsenal, added a * to his names, B. LENO*.
Applied live update, now all players of Arsenal are bugged but LENO* is not, he is clear.

So you can for sure edit, in a game version without the bug, all players of the database, just by adding something simple to their names, maybe a symbol, as a proof and then apply the live update and they are shielded by the bug, you just have them to restore the name aka delete the symbol from name.
It is just an annoying process, as you have to do it for almost 22.000+ players x2 times.

Other alternative option is, if it works with smutcheon tool, extract all teams of Unbugged game, do the editing to the names in Ms excel aka add a symbol, then import to game and just edit by in-game editor, only the Free Agents, and the players that cannot be exported, like the ML youth team players, Japan special players (ffs Konami), etc..
Then apply live update.

All the above only if you want so hard, the latest live update.. If not, just avoid and stay safe.

If you already have a team in there, export it, import this one and then re-import your team, everything will be back to normal and those two should be in the free agents section.

Also, if there's any more players you tried and failed to import please tell me as I would like to find out if there's a fix for it.



I don't know about the "all players live update" bug, that might or might not be deliberate (I could be wrong, but I think they just messed up) but I don't think that is what is blocking the attempts to get players back using the Excel tool. I had those problems too even though I don't have that problem (because I didn't apply live update in the last few months). I don't even know if Konami is aware that players are using this method to get players back. First, even though I had some problems doing it lately, I recently recovered a few, so this method isn't completely "blocked". Also, we have to keep in mind that the game wasn't designed with this "feature" in mind, it was something that the community discovered using PC tools.

NO they don't & NO they can't.

At first I thought it could be that, but I seriously doubt it since I I couldn't find those IDs on PESMaster database, and they usually have everything.
Also, unless they had real faces or something blocking their editing, it wouldn't really be an issue, what would happen it's just that those players would be replaced instead of new ones being added. If it was that, it wouldn't give an error importing, unless they specifically block those or something.
