Lags got nothing to do with bandwidth! I've seen pepole talking about upgrading their connection to a higher bandwidth - well I've got news for y'all It got nothing to do with that! But it has everything to have with Latency Jitter and packet lost which you can all read about in the web.
Basiclly when it comes to online games we measure stuff with latency being the most important one when it comes to online experience. The other terms are important too but they dont matter if the latency is high (just to be clear high is bad).
You probably want to know what affects it ? - Well the latency gets affected by many network realted issues like the overall amount of traffic in the web, the speed of a router, the priority of a task and things that got to do with the hardware and software of an IP network.
Sounds like chinese??? Well think about it in traffic terms - You can think of traffic as a set of connected roads that forms a road netwrok. Than when you like to get somewhere as fast as possible with your car You'll need to take under consideration this things - the length of the route, jams, traffic lights, broken roads, rainy wheather and so on.... If you got the picture now then You probably understand that there are things you can control and there are things you cant, for example if you have 3 roads to get to Vegas and they are all jammed than You'll probably wont get there in time for the wedding.
The solution - Have You been reading so far? There is no solution! Nada! Oh sure you can call your ISP and yawn about it I'll guarantee they'll offer you an upgrade to a "high priority" online gaming account" that will burn a hole in your pocket every month, but franlky it wont change a thing.
Nevertheless I promist a solution so my solution for you is - call/ write/ talk to Konami and demend that they'll implement (appropriatelly!!!) a mechanisim that will know there is a lag! call them write to them talk with them! I know I've tried.
