This is the current state of play. We are remaking all the teams from scratch so not to offend any other editors who don't want their work associated with ours, removing duplicates, balancing the stats, making the missing kits, inputting managers, stadiums, banners, rivals and formations/tactics, so still a long way to go.

Thanks to:

Ratmundo, Slarkmeister, Pippjfreak, Mike Hartley, Donatason, Philips99, GurkenJoe, JeanMarc, PESDNA_Shales, Rayden77, rjb0407, h777MAN, Alister Armstrong, Max Buss, Leirbag90, Demon_fox, viper 182, Elmickio, Alemarvel, proevono1, ciervos classicos, jeremyj2, kuma16, craig barlow, thisisthursdaygaming, Dominofive, aliheidira, Djsatu, killie1974, serg PSV, KoBr24, Victorfl06, Ducatirider, Rogers150862, EastneyAl, EMERSON1973, Alexandre Goulart Sant'Anna, XandeChina. and all the great kit makers for getting us to this point. Sorry if we've missed anyone off, it's been months of work.

Some advice to get you prepared for these teams:

We recommend you start a totally new edit file by either deleting what you have already or starting a separate psn account and importing fresh.

All of the kits will be 1024x1024 but there are a lot so you will run out of space if you have any 2048x2048 kits in your image list.

We will be providing manager and stadium pics in the download but these will not be linked to the bins as there isn't enough space on our master file.

We have reduced all of the squads to 25 players and any removed legends have been moved to the PAS and AFC Champions League for use in master league or to swap the players around to match your personal squad preference.

You will need to restructure the European leagues to put these teams where you want them.

This file is not compatible with anyone else's legends files.

This looks great man, If I didn't have 2 edited data sets already (I am out of kit spaces :() I would download it and play. It even has my favourite team, SL Benfica ;)

Interesting that you also decided to include more portuguese teams other than Benfica, Sporting and Porto (The big three of my country). Braga and Boavista are also good teams. I think only Belenenses is missing (idk if you still have any free slots), it was a great club in the past, even won a league in the 40's (besides the "Big Three", only 2 teams have ever won a league: Belenenses and Boavista) now it is still on the first league but it's a medium club. :)

Keep up the great work, if you want to use more of my teams go ahead and use them

Getting excited now... all the hard work that's gone into this to see light at the end of the tunnel... I'll try and post some previews of the kits later, let people know what to expect from the file.

Well at last the time has come to release some teams. This has been an amazing year Pes wise where I have been fortunate to meet some great editors who like me love the classics. Massive thanks and apreciation to PESmotD,Slarkmeister,Pippjfreak and the legend Ratmundo for making this an amazing experience. Hope you all enjoy the teams and of course your feedback is most welcome but remember it's hard to please everyone when it comes to choosing a 25 man squad. Cheers fellow PesHeads

We are planning on releasing the first batch of teams this weekend.
Great to hear that, I think people will really enjoy your work ;)
I'd like to ask for something:
It's nice that you wrote "gurkenjoe's work" here but after all the work on this forum is not entirely from me, so I think it would be fair if you also credit those other guys (JeanMarc, Simcav, MagicDip, etc) since they also contributed a lot of stats (some of them even more than me) to this forum ;)

Coming up some previews as promised, sorry I don't have any fancy Dan 3d images but I'm no graphic designer so these will have to do.
Massive shout out to PESMotD, Slarkmeister, Donatoson & the legend Ratmundo who is allowing us to use all his classic players for doing all the proper hard graft to get these teams out there. It's been an honour working with you guys.
As stated before feedback on the teams is always welcome (but lets be nice about it) these forums are great for discussion but you never know just because your favourite players aren't in the original bin once the full file is completed there may be some nice surprises hidden away ;)

Cheers
Pip

From Donatoson.

Hello there PesHeads

At last the time has come for us to release the first batch of classic teams that we have been working on over the last few months. A team made up of myself Tom (PesmotD), Trev (Slarkmeister) Dave (Pippjfreak) and Greg (Ratmundo) who all share the same passion in and love for the great game. We have between us spent hours and hours on research, players builds, kit making and tactics etc and we feel very happy and proud about what we have achieved. Hopefully you guys will also be very happy with the outcome. Feedback is always welcome as long as its constructive. When it comes to building classic/best of teams it can be very complicated to please everyone, we all have our personal favorites and criteria’s as what defines a legend at a club. Sometimes it can be based on appearances/long servant at the club, it could be a wonder season where a certain player achieved remarkable things or because he was a fans favorite/cult figure at the club.
We have ready an amazing amount of teams which we will be releasing over the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled, now lets get onto our first batch of teams.

The theme of our release this week is “Derby Day”.

First of all we travel to Scotland for the Edinburgh derby between Hibernian and Hearts of Midlothian. Although maybe not as well known worldwide as the old firm between Celtic and Rangers that doesn’t mean to say it lacks any of the passion. The first time the two clubs played each other was way back in 1875 at the Meadows, these days they usually play matches between them at Hibs Easter Road or at Tynecastle home of Hearts.
Hibernian also known as Hibs or Hibees, founded in 1875 by Irish immigrants have won the Scottish league on four occasions the last being in 1952 and have also enjoyed success in the Scottish cup and league cup lifting them six times between the two. The clubs most successful period came after the second world war, a forward line of Gordon Smith, Bobby Johnstone, Lawrie Reilly, Eddie Turnbull and Willie Ormond became known as the “Famous Five” regarded as the finest front line to have ever graced Scottish football, each of the five scored over 100 goals for the club . Turnbull later returned as manager and his team known as “Turnbulls Tornadoes” enjoyed successes in Europe beating both Napoli and Barcelona in the Fairs Cup.
Another high point during his reign was a the 7-0 win over fierce rivals Hearts at Tynecastle. Hearts of Midlothian also known as Hearts, The Jam Tarts or The Jambos were founded in 1874, they have lifted the league title on four occasions which also included a League and League Cup double the only team out of the top firm to have managed that feat. Their most
successful period was in the mid 50s to mid 60s where Jimmy Wardhaugh, Willie Bauld, and Alfie Conn Sr, made up a front line known as the “Terrible Trio” helped the club to seven trophy’s and five as runners up. Hearts most recent Scottish cup win came against city rivals Hibs thrashing them 5-1 in the final. In Europe they managed to reach the quarter finals of the Uefa cup back in the 1988-89 season.

Next time… we take a short trip down to the North East of England and take a look at another fierce rivalry this time the Tyne-Wear derby between Newcastle United and Sunderland.

From Donatoson:

Hello again PESHeads

Now for the second derby of our 6 team 1 st batch we take a look at a massive rivalry on the North East of England Between the Magpies Newcastle United and the Mackems Sunderland.
The first meeting between the two clubs was a long way back in 1883 and first competitive match in 1888 in which they met in the FA Cup Sunderland won 2-1 and took the bragging rights on that occasion. Both clubs have met a massive 155 times and both have claimed victory 53 times a piece.
Newcastle United (Magpies,Geordies,Toon) play their games at St James park and have one of the countries most passionate/loyal fanbases. They have won the league on four occasions, the FA Cup six time and a Charity Shield, whereas in Europe they have lifted both the Fairs cup in 1969 and the Intertoto Cup more recently in 2006. The club has been graced with some incredible talent over the years with players like Hughie Gallagher, Malcolm McDonald, Peter Beardsley, Paul Gascoigne, and even more recently the prolific Alan Shearer and David Ginola all of who have gone into Geordie folklore. Back in the 1995-96 season they almost claimed the Premierleague but somehow managed to surrender a 12 point gap to eventual Champions
Manchester United.

Sunderland (The Black Cats) play their games at The stadium of light having moved there in 1997 from their previous ground Roker park. Their first ever FA cup success came back in 1937 with a 2-1 win against Preston North End , they would have to wait until 1973 for another cup victory beating the mighty Leeds United 1-0 thanks to a Ian Porterfield goal to claim their second FA Cup, Jimmy Montgomery made himself a legend at the club with two stunning saves one of them from the fantastic Peter Lorimer, they are one of only three clubs to have won the cup whilst playing outside of the top league.
