Hi there, I am new to the community, this site rather impresses me.
In this post, I'd like to share my BAL experience, although it isn't much xD
The settings were put at 10 min. matches, Top Player level, DMF with human dynamo build, focusing on defence and stamina, 64 overall.
The starting point for me was VVV-Venlo. As I am Dutch, I didn't really mind playing in the Eredivisie, until I noticed that the back line of my squad was just plain non-existent. As a DMF, I was able to help out here and there, but the defeats stacked up during the first half of the season even though I scored a header on my debut.
During the second half of the season, things turned out for the better. Unfortunately, this was only temporary, and VVV-Venlo ended the year 2011-2012 as 16th of the league. My average rating was a 6.1, with one goal and one assist. The only highlight of this season was my first call-up for the Dutch national team. I got subbed in against Chile and did fine, with a rating of 6.5.
Because of this, I believe it is more than understandable that I decided to depart to a new club. There were several offers from clubs within the Eredivisie, including Ajax, NAC Breda and Feyenoord. Ajax offered experience in the Champions League, Feyenoord played in the Europa League and NAC Breda was never considered because I feared it would be more of the same.
Now most people would choose to go to Ajax, as the CL was ahead of them. But I didn't follow suit. Why? I didn't feel I was ready for it yet, as my OVR was only 68 at the end of 2011-2012.
Eventually, I went to Feyenoord, Ajax' greatest rivals, for my second season, which I am currently in. For now, I have no regrets, even though this season had its ups and downs. We experienced a flying start, winning our 5 first matches in the Eredivisie, but after that, the lights went out xD The strikers didn't score, the defenders didn't mark and the midfielders looked drunk as more than half of their passes went astray. Personally, I was running around trying to tackle anything that got close to me.
On a brighter note, I got called up for the Dutch national team on no less than two occasions, playing against Thailand and Senegal.
Today, while I was playing, the transfer window opened and I went to "Club Search", scanning for clubs that would give me a lot of time on the pitch. Then, I added AC Milan and London FC (Chelsea) to my desired clubs.
AC Milan sent some scouts to assess my performance while I played against Groningen. There was interest, but I didn't get my hopes up since my OVR is only 70 at this moment.
It was astonishing to see that a few weeks later, AC Milan came with an offer, for a contract with the duration of 4 years. I can't wait to embark on this new adventure in my BAL career. Hopefully I can get up my OVR a bit more before the end of this second season.
