I just can't understand how the points work that decide whether you relegate or promote. I started the tournament, of which I made it to the final with 420 points, I lost 1, draw 3 and won 5, and began the final with 445 points. Lost the final from a guy playing eto'o and forlan, amongst other superstars, from a div higher and my rating went 12 points down!! Wtf... So I played a quick match, won and my rating went up 2 points, lost the next quick match, my rating went down 8 points... Both matches were against much better squads.

After my success of yesterday I played again and almost sent a controller to the same grave as you...

First match was utterly bizzare I played some guy who had better players than me he had some really good forwards and I drew 1-1 with him, he was rated 511 I was rated 500 and I lost 8 points he gained 11 WTF!! I lost points for a draw and my team is crap, my best players are barely 70 rated... then drew another game with some cheap ass player whos tactics consisted of manual passing enormous long balls into my corner flags and trying to rob my defenders, it was like playing against Mick Mcarthy!

Final game got stuffed 4-0 although it was actually pretty close up to the last 30 mins then his forward line of Fabiano, Danny and some other similar rated bloke tore me apart on the counter, he played well tbh but the scoreline was flattering.

Problem im having with the game so far online is that people don't play realistic tactics and formations, I mean the long ball guy had 4 forwards in a straight line in reality that formation would suck, in fact of the 10 odd games Ive played Ive seen maybe 2 or 3 teams playing good formations and those unsurprisingly were the most enjoyable, even the one I lost 4-0 cause it felt like proper football, most of the other teams just use tactics designed to take advantage of flaws in the game engine and end up as boring draws or tight 1 nil wins.

Oh and another thing, most people blatantly give away penalties cause they know most people (me included) have difficulty scoring them. Why dont defenders get automatic red cards for chopping people down in the box? Its like konami decided a penalty was enough and ignored the actual rules. As a final aside anyone know where I can practice penalties cause I cant see them on the training menu?

he was probably in a lower division than you. it's perfectley normal to loose points against lower division players even though they have far more division points than you.

anyone tell me a strong pacy lethal striker for around 5 mill? or would it be better to get 2 strikers for 2.5ish....?

my idea would be get a striker from around 3 mil and one from 2 mil.
You cant win a game with one player, but thats just my idea.

If you're looking in the 5 mil departement I think Higuain should be a good option. I believe however that you should build up you're team slowly, so don't just have al the defaults and buy one top striker. For those 5 mil you could get 3 nice players or 2 good strikers. It makes the MLO a lot more fun to play if you build it up slowly.

Go into training, select practice freekick and pick a spot in the box. Then you can practice as many penalties as you want. They are not so hard actually once you get used to how they work.

i found a player called blind. only rated 60 but plays all across back four and all midfield. a quality squad player for about half mil. anyone else got any bargain buys...?

A cheap good striker is Erding. Only has 75 overall, but has both the goalgetter and a 1vs1 card. And he is fast.

Errrr.. Sorry for the rant then my man, nice squad you got yourself there. Does that petrobenov guy play good? I've seen loads of people use him but I'm a little weary of his 2 in condition..

I'm now on the hunt for a new AMC that can also play as a SMF if neccesary. At the moment I have 3 AMC (and one CF) that can play in my 2 AMC positions. Jadson, Vuckevic, Roman Eremenko and Sychev (CF that can play SMF and SS). So who can I get to play as an AMC?

Or, recommended me a CB.....

My CAM was McCarthy of Wigan until I realised that he was 68 OVR at RM. I then signed Craig Gardner to play CAM, and switched the CAM to a CM to give me a more balanced formation and increase Gardner's effectiveness. McCarthy costs around 1 Million.

Oh, and Sammy Clingan is an awesome CM! He scores so many goals in and around the box it's unreal!

Here's how i've been getting along

At first i played lots of matches with default players not realising

by selling your dross you can make a nice amount of funds for players.

My first signings after selling most of my squad was Alou Diara , Luisao

and Brandao to try and get the spine of my team in place.After that i've

just got my delboy on, selling players for direct replacement then

realising not enough funds to play the the next match :shocking:,then

buying cheapo's (ferenzi overall ability 20:w00t) to up my squad

numbers as so then forced to release players i wanted to get some

funds to actually play a match





My best player upto now is by far Brandao

, the guy is a beast and he's scoring ridiculous amounts of goals .The

guy has a serious left foot and class dribbler different class when using

the right analogue stick.

He's that good you can shove your Villa's/Ibra's etc up your ass .

No but seriously, im staying well away from the top drawer players

because ,for me anyway's PES always gets boring way to fast when your

using top player's,

also i'm not happy the cup's are 5 minute matches again until the

final,any crappy player can beat you in a 5 minute match.

Not like i've actually even entered a tournament yet though,they never

let me access it.

How much do you earn in tournament matches??

It's always nice to see the PES forums still going strong after all these years, even though the game hasn't lived up to expectations..

I haven't got PES2011 because I needed to save up, but i'll I always love reading the threads like these

I started MLO last night, bringing my team Beard=FCsquared to the MLO world.

I decided to have a bit of fun with MLO cause I know Im never going to be great, I just dont have enough time to play comps etc. Ive given my team a bit of a Kiwi flavour by bring in Ryan Nelsen as Captain, and young Chris Wood to play up front.
Bought in Harry Kewell as well lol, and a couple of randoms to play in the midfield
(interestingly I could pick players from the whole New Zealand national team in MLO - makes me wonder if Konami are working on bring the National team to offline modes...) Anyway things didnt start well losing my first game 4 - 0, but managed to bounce back in my next quick game winning 2-0... Im hooked i dont think the offline modes will be seeing much attention this year MLO FTW!

sold most of the useless players in the default team and got myself van der vaart and podolski, vdv and gutierezz or w/e his name is have been amazing so far, either scoring or assisting every game...struggling a little with podolski though
but yeah, doing pretty decent so far
