Yes, folks, it's that time of year again. PES 2014 is out, and will no doubt cause you plenty of frustration. This is the place to vent!
If you have something to rant about (PES related of course ), then feel free let loose in this very thread!

Same as last year, there are but 2 rules:

1) Keep it civil and avoid slagging each other off. This is a thread for venting over PES, not at other forum members.

2) Though swearing is allowed, please don't go over the top with it.

I just can't get myself to keep playing constantly when you need your striker to be around 30m away from the fucking defender when through on goal, honestly happens all the time! I had Ronaldo through on goal and was caught up by an FC Copenhagen defender with 56 speed.

Haha, yeah, I noticed that too. Basically it's impossible to run after a through ball into space without getting caught.

I get annoyed when I pass the ball to an attacker of mine, and he just stays there and waits for the enemy defender to intercept the pass (even though I'm trying to get him to move toward the ball), OR the ball does reach my attacker, but the enemy defender pushes my attacker in the back and breaks his control without conceding a foul. WTH?

Another issue that drove me out of my mind was the idiotic little shooting target you get if you play with "semi-manual" shooting (or whatever the middle shooting option - which is the default option - is called). I missed a ton of sitters because my guys just wouldn't shoot - I'd get an opening, I'd press shoot, and... Nothing. Or I'd hammer the "shoot" button and my guys would shoot weak shots which the keeper would save. Or the shot would hit the post because I'm pushing the stick like mad and the target has gone to the extreme corner of the net. Finally I realized what was going on and changed the shooting settings back to normal.

What am I doing wrong? dont tell me i have to wait there for the ball before I start sprinting do I? or isit something on my settings? i was looking through the manual and couldnt see anything on it.

I presume your talking about the the player you passed it to. If you haven't gotten that player to pass the ball before he receives it, whats going to happen is he's going to knock it on because your pressing sprint before he receives it. Let him take control of the ball first then sprint. Although, you say you want him to take it is his stride. Do you mean he's passing it or just knocking it on?

I don't know about MLO online because I don't play it. You don't have the online cup competition the same as me?(You know the one where you qualify for the knock out rounds with your best 3 games in a row.)

2. The Runs. Why are players still stuck in run animations ? The ball is played in to space. I know my player isn't getting it, but I can't break the direction of the run to cover space.

Those 2 IMO are the 2 that are really holding back this game. #2 really shouldn't be here with the new engine, and hopefully #1 gets fixed via the next patch.

Secondly, the engine is not new at all. This engine was created in 2009...yep a total of 4years ago.

The result is what we now see on PES 2014. A new engine that cannot even accommodate features that were in the older engine.
So they have to remove features from PES 2014 in order fit the game on what WE refer to as a so called new engine.

Because of the limitations of the fox engine, PES cannot even move to the next gen consoles. So fans are left with a half baked game that they will pay full price for!

But Konami has realized something important in the release of PES over the years......however bad the games are, fans will still purchase the title.

So we find fans here making predictions and excuses for Konami whilst they remain quiet. Example:- A lot of people here felt that the Demo was a 85% completed game. With only weeks until release that would be impossible. Demos that close to release are usually 98% complete.

Developers cannot fix problems that were created over a 12 to 18th month period in a couple of weeks. Hence they start with patches ...even when the game has not even been released in full availability.

I would not consider PES 2014 a step in the right direction.....it is more like kick in the balls for its fans. The fact is that PES is no longer in direct competition with Fifa ....since they have moved on the next gen.

The footie game is now a monopoly ...and guess who is in charge....?

^yeah, people had full copies of the game 5 days after the demo was released. What I don't understand, in terms of PES and EA FIFA, is how the full game can be worse than the demos. You would think the demos would just be scaled down versions.

I have gotten to the point that football games are the only thing I play on PS3. In fact, PES/EA has basically pulled me away from Madden, a game I played for 20+ years across ps 1,2,&3. And I am so disappointed to read about the full builds of both PES and FIFA this year. I have nothing left.

ockrass i seem to remember you complaining every year and usually we end up bitching... however i have to say that this year by jove i think you are spot on, tbh i dont know much about how they put the game together, i just pay and play, but i have heard them (konami) blowing their own trumpet about how good this new fox engine is and how great this years game is gonna be and mianly how the ball physics are gonna be greaattttt... however the gameplay and general speed of the game is sooo slow and the responce or rather non responce of not only your off the ball team mates but also the actual player your controlling is so slow and poor it makes the game a pile of sh!te so i cant even see if the ball physics have improved cos everything else has gone backwards when compared to last years game. also why make controls harder than last year? like switching players last year was perfect so why make it harder by incorporating more buttons to be pressed to perform the same task in this years game, same for making an off the ball player go on a run? last year it worked perfect but now you have to hold L1 whilst pressing R stick and directing it at the player you want to make a run??? and then and only then when you release the R stick will the player then decide to make the run... and most times its not the same player you want to make the run!!!! also playing a thru ball has been made harder... couple all this with the slowness off this years game and it makes the whole thing one big chore to actually try and finish 1 match!!!! sorry to go on moaning but i am soooo disappointed with this years game and feel for the first ever time that i have been ripped off by the tune of £35 cos rifgt now i am still playing pes2013 cos its by far a better game than pes2014.... p.s why is even the match setup screens lagging when playing offline FFS give me strength.......
