What were the files you got?
Sometimes rar files are labelled as .01 .02 and such. Just double click the part number zero or 1 or open it with WinRAR and it will unrar for you.

I'm not sure what to make of it mate, but I may be going for a different patch anyway. It's just bothering me that I can't figure it out, ya know?

This is not the patch this is warez mate. It's not allowed on here either. The main patch is 455mb and the fix is 229mb look for those file sizes or follow the links on the first page ;)

P.S I would delete them links aswell :D

Yes the MDS is fine. The files you can see in the download are the updated ones that you can see inside your ISO using CDMage and the old ones need to be replaced by these new downloaded one.

However, I would recommend you use reefur's new patch instead of this one. And that one is simple to apply too. Forget about this patch now. It was good for its time but is quite old now. The new reefur one is the best patch for WE8:LE. The new patch thread is here.
