I am probably going to get an Xbox, and the main reason is PES4 and live, along with the fact that my poor old Gamecube is getting less and less love from developers (I managed to resist buying a PS2 as I felt the ONLY game worth it was PES)...

I think it will be interesting to see how xbox sales have changed since the live announcement for PES4, and also how many Xbox's get bought along with PES4 in the run up to christmas...I think PES is one of very few games that creates such fanatical fans (fanatical fanatics? hmm) that they would buy a system just for that game. My recommendation to Nintendo, Sony and MIcrosoft would be to pay Konamii as much as it takes to get an exclusive PES for the next generation console, cos I'll be buying the one that gets PES.

Sony has not payed you to be loyal to them, have they???

Overall xbox is a lot cheaper than PS2 anyway:
PS2 with just one controller costs the same as xbox, but do not forget that PS2 needs memory card or HD, plus you need NET adapter, whilst xbox has it all in the original package.

You can get pretty much new xbox by selling old PS2 with all peripherals and few games. It's worth it.

I'm pretty sure the PC version will be internet ready, because 64k is basic ISDN internet while 1.5Mbit is DSL, besides the slowest network card you can find is 10mbps or 100k so that 64k refers to the internet speed I think.

Wrong there mate it doesnt depend on your network card it depends on your internet connection. TO play this online you will need a minimum of 256k (30kbytes) upload speed.

Also about this XBOX - ps2 discussion. I have both and trust me when i tell you that a chipped xbox blows everything out of the water, you can install up to 300gb to store movies, games, etc on,and the media player is better than any other including PC, plays everything DivX, XviD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, M4A you name it.
