What do the best players use?

Hi,

First of all greetings to everybody on the forum.

I'm just starting to play PES series, mainly because I've started to work at a place where guys are playing it during breaks and such, so it's good fun.

I've been googling for a few days, I've even bought a piggyback guide (mind you we're playing PES 6 (2007) because that's the game most of them can agree they like, but i suspect it's the same thing) and i can't find ANY information on what the best players use (like competition and world cup winners/top ranjers) use: the stick or d-pad. I'm just learning the game so i can go either way, but i'd like to know what is the best so i don't waste my time on the wrong thing. Especially for dribbling, showboating is like the number one thing there.

From what i googled from old debates usually it's "d pad is more responsive" or "the game is meant to be played with stick" or "stick gets you more curve".

If someone could provide clear information on what the best players in the world use and what is better for dribbling I'd be very grateful. The guys at work are a mixed bunch and not terribly good players so i can't really judge it from there.

Thank you.

pes 6 is an amazing game, just try running the whole field with robinho or messi.

the newer versions of the pes series are more pass and move style of play.

whatever suits you man, if you feel good playing D-pad, then do it, same goes for the stick.

Personally i play analouge stick, that's what I am used to, using the D-pad feels so wrong to me, however my housemate is old school, D-pad through and through!

He does very well with it too, but... with 360 degree dribbling it is clearly the stick that offers the more comprehensive control, The D-pad only offers 8 directions.
