5 minute games in BAL? That seems short. How much can you do in 5 min?

I usually play 10-15. But somedays I play 30 just to enjoy the game.

Well the first few seasons aren't as much fun since the player stats are so low. So I put the difficulty at Normal and the Match Time at 5 minutes which allows me to blow through the first few seasons while still getting 1-3 goals/assists per game. After two seasons I'll up the time and difficulty.

Currently playing the game at Regular and 5 minutes.

Means that it's still equal (or easy) enough to be FUN, whilst being short enough to not have every game end 5-0.

The only problem with 5 minutes for me is that there's not enough time for both teams to get a decent/realistic amount of shots in.

True, especially when you come on as a sub.

But still, since I play on Regular, having it at 5 minutes makes it challenging enough to score.

I've tried Professional and Top Player at 10 and 15 minutes and the difficulty just turns me off. The teammate AI goes 09, so to speak.

15 minutes.
Anything lower than that and the game doesn't feel like its getting started.

how long does it take you to progress through BAL at that rate? Dont you get tired of waiting around on the pitch..for this reason alone i have never really caught on to BAL

I played 5 minutes only for the scout match until I got decent stats to start.
After that, 10 min when I am starting the match or 30 min if I will get in during the game.

I'd feel like I am cheating... aren't you? :shocking:

i would agree, kind of takes the joy out of development. but then again, waiting around for 15 minutes a game when there are 30 games a season for maybe 3 shots on goal which are all horrible due to poor stats...that isn't fun either.

Why?

The scout match gives us random stats. I got already like 8.0 or 7.5 and the stats were really poor, whereas with a 5.5 I got great initial stats. It's just random. Believe me, I've tried many many times and they are not related to way you play. Then, why would I play for 10-15 minutes with all my energy to get some very bad initial stats? Because it's "fair"? It would be fair if the initial stats were dependent on your performance!

About 10 min each game, for me, it's good. I play as CMF then I can enjoy myself with action.

About the 30 min it's because the new AI. Now the COM can keep the possession for ages in the midfield. So if I start after 60 min of the game, sometimes I cannot even touch the ball once! Then I set for 30 min.

Why do you think it would be cheating?

I play 30 minute halves. I just try to perform as well as possible on every game. Main goal is to win the game, then get assists and goals. Much more rewarding than trying to max your stats.

30 minute halfs!?! That must take ages to do a season. A few goals I would imagine.

he means 30 minute games, thats the most you can do.

OT: i play 15 minute halves usually on professional atm. as my player is getting higher stats im finding professional a little to easy though so i may switch to top player soon and increase the game time (thats my general rule of thumb with sports games higher difficulty = longer time and i try to play more realistically)

p.s. its easier to get max match experience in shorter games.

Oh yes, I meant 30 minute games.. I'm playing on Top Player as AMF and haven't scored a single goal yet in halfway the season. The gameplay feels better than on 15 minute games, the amount of goals scored in general haven't changed at all I think. The playing just feels better. Plus I'm winning more games now that I have enough time to make a real difference on the pitch.
