i think its pretty apparanet cech is going to win for a number of reasons..primarily the forum consisting of Englishmen and the majority enjoys a prawn sandwich at stamford bridge
2. the fact that Roma isn't everyones favourite team due to its great captain Francesco
3. Roma are struggling hence the keepers let a lot in

so i dunno next time theres a poll between 2 lets not make it a no brainer......

BTW van der sar is givin cech a run for his money for the best keeper award....that save from Andy Cole was brilliant then days later produces another top notch save against villareal..(which includes a delightful flick from Sorin)

Marcos is nowhere near as good as he was after 2002 World Cup. Rogerio Ceni (the new scoring keeper) may be Brazil's new No. 2 keeper if he isn't already.

What a stupid thread!
I think that the best goalkeepers in the world are Buffon and Dida.
Buffon is more continuous.
Cech is very good but he has to play more to judge him. Pelizzoli played well only for one season and now he's a normal keeper. To judge a goalkeeper is different than to judge other rule players because they play less than other player and they have to be continuous year by year.

dude dont even bother adding Gigi Buffon, he messes up so many time and im talking about the ball being no more than a foot a way or less he cant save jack for me, to be fair it was against inter, but still i find it comical he cant save anything when the ball is no more than a foot away LMAO

I don't know if this thread was created to talk about the keepers inside the game or in real life. If you're not talking about the game perhaps you're mentioning another keeper 'cause the things you're saying are without sense. It's impossible you're talking about this keeper:

Gianluigi Buffon:
*
1997
Nomination Oscar del Calcio (Soccer's Oscar) Associazione Italiana Calciatori (A.I.C.)
*
1998
Nomination Oscar del Calcio A.I.C.
*
1999
Oscar del Calcio A.I.C. as the best keeper of Serie A
*
2001
Oscar del Calcio A.I.C. as the best keeper of Serie A
*
2002
Oscar del Calcio A.I.C. as the best keeper of Serie A
*
2003
UEFA Club Football Award as the best player of European cups (first keeper that obtained it)

UEFA Club Football Award as the best goalkeeper

IFFHS World's best goalkeeper (season 2002-2003)

Oscar del Calcio A.I.C. as the best keeper of Serie A
*
2004
IFFHS World's best goalkeeper (season 2003-2004)

Oscar del Calcio A.I.C. as the best keeper of Serie A

Cech is good, but I've searched and found some good talent.

Curci 191 ITA
Akinfeev (a bit short at 183, but great reflexes) RUS

Both players are under 20

Here's another one...Andres Isaksson from Sweden, will mature into a really good 'keeper and has a growth plateau from age of 26 to 32...currently has 95 response, 92 jump and 91 'keeper skills, and he stands at 196 cm tall and has 1 vs 1 'keeper skills...worth buying!
