you can't. Live Updates are the only way to get winter transfers at the time (and likely until sometime in late march at this rate)
however, try this trick that works also in preserving option file kits;
Turn Live Update on, start an exhibition match, after kickoff, go back to main menu. Now, play another match and see if your edits have remained. Leave that Live Update On, don't touch it
that might fix your edited players, unless you downloaded the latest DLC, which i did not.
What's the point of LU then? All it should update is the players stats! (Unless Konami get the appearances right too, so we don't have to change them)
And I mean player appearances, not stats, if I play with U On all my edited appearance are defaulted..

i think the live updates are only to update the online play. which is nice addition, however, I do not play online so have been waiting impatiently for winter updates and the summer ones they have missed.
I think they may update appearances for Live Updates, and i know they certainly do for stats.
I was hoping the trick I offered would allow your appearance edits overwrite the live update since Konami makes an exhibition game go with live update - then edit data loading, as if your edits overwrite some items
Well that's silly IMO, I thought LU would work the same as Fifa's, where EA update the squads weekly (they update appearances as well as stats), you can then edit any player appearances they've missed and save them (albeit it very vague as Fifa doesn't even have an undershirt option, even though they're in the game on players by default?), so you still get the appearances you've edited as well as the weekly stat changes players when playing Offline, with LU turned On..
In PES you have to turn LU Off to get your edited appearances, thus making LU useless as I cant use it? And seeing as they haven't updated the squads yet (Fifa does it weekly) that means no Paddy McNair for me Offline, even though he's in the game when LU is turned On!? Total mess IMO..
And LU in PES can't update appearances too as most of my Man Utd players' appearances haven't changed since I bought the game in November
I had to do them all manually, but they default when I turn LU On, haha..Agreed mate, it's driving me nuts, maybe they should look to hire someone to update things like this in the weekly Live Updates for PES 2016?

the rumors around town was that the Live Updates cost Konami very little, but to place a DLC with new squads cost them money via Sony or Microsoft. However, they did send us a DLC full of boots but felt it unnecessary to get caught up with summer squads; yet this destroyed many people's option files. I still have not implemented that data pack.
One look at Adam Bhatti or his twitter page will tell you everything that is wrong with this company
Hmm that's strange, lets hope they make a lot more money off myClub (like Fifa does with Ultimate team) to improve all areas of PES, and not just myClub (like EA do with Ultimate Team)
I added Adam on Twitter and this was his last Tweet yesterday:
"Off to Tokyo tomorrow, busy times. Make sure you keep an eye out for news next week, we've been busy making awesome #PES2015 content for u."
I wonder what he means? You'd expect the transfers to be finally updated, and a new data pack of the latest boots, but them alone wouldn't be "Awesome" as he says, but expected, so there must be something else??

the LU players will never be added to base teams. Take a look at McNair. He is there since the very first LU and he is still a LU exclusive!
Also his abilities is similar to many other players. It's like Konami just copy-paste to create him.
If only Konami give us an algorithm to "read" players from their messy databases

Brasilean League transfersmarkt its still open. There are some european countries that ends the transfersmarkt period today wich include ingame teams.

The new March PES 2015 Data Pack 4.00 will be available to download March 13 and will bring all winter transfers, more than 60 new player faces as well as three new stadiums for the next-gen versions.
To add to the new winter transfers, player ratings will also be adjusted in the new PES 2015 DLC.

Three new stadiums for Playstation 4 and Xbox One
Boca Junior's "La Bombonera" will be added in the PES 2015 DLC 4.00, while two well-known fantasy stadiums from previous games return with "Burg Stadion" and "Studio Orione".
Additionally to transfers, faces and stadiums, 11 new boot colorways from Adidas, Nike and Puma, as well as the new Champions League Finale Berlin Ball and the official ball of the Argentinian League, Argentum, will be in the download.
