I did the same thing at the High Wycombe Gamnestation store and they took it back no problem. They told me never to return when I decided to buy FIFA 07 as well lmao.

I hope your solution works, I just played 2 games with the normal settings had me trying for hours! Really Konami should have got this to work for the average xbox live user, rather than those who know which settings to tweak etc .. or at least put it in the manual.

I have the same problem as well, even when I create a match it takes a long time. Still yet to have a game. A terrible sin, I know, but I bought FIFA 07 purely because I can't get a game online. It only takes 3-4 seconds to find a match on 07. I have been a PES player since number 2 right...
